We were very lucky, only one other couple on our tour which made it very personal. They were on honeymoon and it was our wedding anniversary so we had a ball with them. The weather was beautiful also so the views of the mountains and countryside were amazing.
The tasting was really excellent and we learnt a lot. We included the wine tasting and had a great 3.5 hours.

My husband, adult son, and I loved this tour! We learned so much about olives! We have a completely new appreciation for the olive oil making process and the fact that every bit of the olive is used. We loved both the olive oil tasting and the wine tasting and it was one of the favorite parts of our trip to Granada.

This was an excellent way to spend 3 hours! We had only two of us on tour so Violeta was especially informative. We learned so much about olive oil process and purchased great gifts to take home. Note you can also book directly with company to save a lot of money.

We quite enjoyed this tour. After seeing mile after miles of olive trees on our way to Granada by bus it was satisfying for us to tour both an old grove and a modern grove to understand the difference.
The olive oil tasting was enlightening and while I didn’t buy a case to ship back, I now know what to look for when buying olive oil.

The Olive Oil Tour was a brilliant experience. Fascinating to learn so much, beautiful countryside- also almond trees in blossom very lovely indeed - and delicious oils, bread, wine. Very good goats cheese, they had nice gluten free bread too. We were super happy with the trip

My wife and I did the tour that included the wine tasting (which was worth the extra few Euros). We were fortunate enough to be the only two on the tour that afternoon so it ended up being the equivalent of a private tour with our amazing guide Violeta. Even had there been others it would have been a great experience. Our guide was very friendly, knowledgable and helpful. The tour itself is very well organized and gives a comprehensive look at the production of olive oil from tree to bottle. The tasting portion of the tour was a definite highlight. The samples were generous and the experience was complimented with expert guidance. If you have 3 hours to spare in Granada, this is the way to spend it!

This was just a huge surprise on the upside, from travelers who have done many different food and wine tastings in various countries around the globe. Violeta was a thoroughly knowledgeable and engaging tour guide, leading us through all stages of olive oil production from in the field to in the bottle, from traditional to modern styles and styling, ending with a wonderful tasting of various olive oils and then wines and tapas, all with perfect pacing. We just loved it. Can't recommend Violeta and the Olive Oil tour more highly!

Very interesting and informative tour explaining growing, varieties, oil extraction and processing, and of course, tasting. Violeta was wonderful and explained everything in a succinct yet descriptive manner. We have a much greater appreciation for olives and olive oil from Spain. A highlight of our trip to Granada.

Violeta was our guide and driver. It was good to get out of the city and away from the crowds. Despite the rain ( umbrellas provided ), we were so engaged in the tour we hardly noticed. We had no idea how involved a process it was and will be so much wiser in our choices from now on. We chose both the oil tasting and wine with tapas. Violeta makes the tour seem "fresh" despite the many times she must have spoken the same words. Tip: Don't try an olive off the tree. ... Shudder! Even the birds won't eat them.

Violetta picked my friend and I plus two couples up in a van in downtown Granada. She drove us 25 minutes to an olive tree orchard, then to a farm where she explained/showed how the olives are processed into olive oil, with a final stop at their shop where we had a tasting of 6 different olive oils. We chose to do the wine tasting also. Overall a very positive experience.. Highly recommend the tour. Wanted to have 5-6 bottles shipped back to the states, but the shipping charges were more than the value of the bottles. I purchased a couple small bottles to store in my carry-on.

I loved this olive oil tour and learned so much. Our tour guide picked us up from our hotel and drove us to the destination. The tour is outside of the city of Grenada. It really just depends how much you want to travel. I will tell you the olive oil you will sample is amazing! I have ordered 2 more cases and had it shipped back to the United States. You won’t be disappointed.

The pick up time in the morning is 10:00 AM at our meeting point in the center of Granada. You will be back to the same place around 1:30 PM +- 15 minutes.

we were picked up in Granada at 10am and got back at 2pm. It's half hour drive to the olive grove so the tour started at 10.30 and finished at 1.30 for the half hour drive back.

Is it worth visiting the olive orchards in November or is it too late in the year. How should we dress?

November is a very nice time to visit olive orchards because olives turn from green to violet to black and you can see the three stages of ripeness on the tree at the same time. It is also when the best extra virgin olive oils are extracted. The weather is constantly changing, we recommend checking the forecast the day before. You don t need any especial clothes or shoes to do the tour, only warm clothes … the time spent outside at the olive groves is around 15 to 20 minutes so bring a rain coat or umbrella if the forecast predicts rain.
