Narrow alleys, between palaces and beautiful churches, where you can get lost and enjoy a trip to the medieval past of Spain

We decided to tour Toledo Casco Histórico on our own. Taking the AVE from Atocha–Almudena Station from Madrid is easy and friendly. Once in Toledo, bear in mind that you’ll be doing a lot walking and better Be Ready for steep hills. Walking the historic city is kind of hiking. We took a taxi to Synagogue of Santa Maria la Blanca, the farthest one, and walk down hill the rest of the beautiful churches, cathedral and Alcazar in the old city. You can either walk back to the train station or take a cab. You’ll do it in one full day. We got back to Madrid by 7 PM. Did a lot of tapas that night.
Great experience.

It's a little over an hour by bus from Madrid. I think it is a very easy town to get to because there are many trains. Toledo is a medieval religious city. That atmosphere is still there today. I really enjoyed just walking up a small hill into the old town. But personally, the road was complicated and I went round and round the same place. Surrounded on three sides by rivers and connected by brick bridges, it was also good to see the atmosphere.
There is also a souvenir shop and a macdo, so you can definitely enjoy half a day.

To enter the Old Town of Toronto, you should first take a hand lift that is about two floors long. It is recommended for Travellers to arrange Things to do in the city, the Things to do route to the city should be planned, because most are stone roads, and the city is mountainous, there are many slopes, many Attractions are almost not going backwards, if you don't want to go wrong, you can take the Things to do small train or bus, and take the lift to view the castle area.
From the hand-lift exit, you can quickly walk to the main square of the Old Town, where you can see the walking tour to invite Travellers, participating in this type of city Things to do is free, and the end is usually a thank you for the guide fee, but you need to buy a ticket to visit the Attractions.
This Spanish city is very special, you can visit and see Christian, Jewish and Islamic buildings at the same time, this one-day tour is included, follow the tour guide Amanda and look around, and feel the charm of the old city that is still in this time!

A city with a cultural heritage and such a spectacular old town cannot afford to be so dirty and neglected.
Pigeons are the owners of alleys and balconies, there are areas that smell terrible due to their droppings, uncivils who urinate on street corners and lack of good cleaning service.
It is also possible to travel with vehicles virtually throughout the historic center and they are parked everywhere.
A real pity the image of a city that is being given and that is a World Heritage Site.

It is world heritage and with monuments museums etc etc everywhere and you must visit all but streets with shattered pavement and what collides more trash left on the ground for collection because it does not look good or do not fit through its narrow streets.
But are there mandatory European rules or not? Pick-up.

I met Toledo and it was love at first sight!
I learned a lot about history, the architecture is something exceptional and the city with its ups and downs and recesses is a magical place.
It was really worth the visit and we did not have much time, but we lacked time to go more, we will return.
We did a guided tour with a man of whom I forgot his name, but I want to congratulate him because he made all the difference, he knows a lot and what he does not know he seeks. Accept and ask opinions with the humility of the greats, it is extremely notorious that he likes what he does, stands out far from others, I will leave a picture of him (I think his name is Alejandro), so that his tours do them with him, makes a difference really.
The tours we did with Getyourguide.es, highly recommended, offers excellent activities, at better prices than buying them in isolation, are super serious, attentive and one fits the package according to the days you are in each place. I recommend 100%!

Surrounded by the Tagus and its walls, Toledo is a melting pot of cultures. Arabs, Christians and Jews have left their mark in this city. It is nice to appreciate it from afar from the viewpoints of the cigarrales and then enter through any of its doors and go up to its center. A more comfortable option is to go up the mechanical lifts that take you directly to the Zocodover but you lose part of the charm. The cathedral, the monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, the fortress and, fundamentally, getting lost in its alleys are essential.

What to say about the old town of Toledo? Well, there is little that has not already been said, which should be seen due to the beauty of the whole. Must visit in Toledo

Hi John, what's the best way to travel from Madrid to Toledo?
Skrevet 3. oktober 2019
We took one of the tour buses. It was convenient and informative. We did the full day trip which started with a short tour and then gave us the rest of the time on our own. The 1/2 day trips is not long enough. We enjoyed having a brief overview and then time on our own to explore. The Cathedral is truly amazing. Make sure you allocate enough time but also make sure you get to view the baths. They close during the midday so you have to time that location right. Enjoy!

Hi, I am flying into (and out of) Madrid - but staying in Toledo. What is the easiest/cheapest way to get to Toledo from Madrid airport - thanks
Skrevet 8. juli 2019
I am using Welcome. But that is a private transfer.
My suggestion is Expedia search for transfers. They will have options. Or better off Trip Advisers search best tours to Toledo. The cheapest would be a bus tour from airport. 100s a day coming into Toledo. Pick the one that offers the best in sites because:
- I like an informed guide.
- I like to know where I am going.

Hi
Im going to spain during january . Please let me know what is the best way to travel between cities and is it good to stay in Madrid and go to Tolido as one day trip or spend the night
Skrevet 22. august 2018
I took a bus tour, that was the best convenient way to move from Madrid to each of Andalusia area cities.
Skrevet 8. september 2018
What are folks' thoughts about whether to spend a night in Toledo or just do a day trip?
Skrevet 27. februar 2018
If a day trip, spend all day, it’s amazing! We took the train from Madrid and it was our favourite spot in Spain. Spent three weeks in Spain and Toledo was the highlight.
Skrevet 15. mars 2018
Were you pleased with your tour guide? We only have 1.5 days in Toledo & prefer to have a private guided tour of the historic city. Thank you.
Skrevet 9. januar 2017
We have no tour guide, actually the audio guide of the cathedral is excellent. Have fun!
