Really spectacular modernist building, worth the visit on its own, which can be done by guided tour. In addition, there are temporary exhibitions of all kinds, such as the one that was my first contact with him, dedicated to Sorolla.

The interest of this visit without reservation is to compare with the casa batlo of Gaudi just next door. This House is very neo Gothic without originality for rich chocolate makers. Visit with audio guide. Do not miss the shop the excellent chocolate with bread.

The Amalle House, a cake-like house made for a special celebration, was built in 1875, and bought in 1898 by pastry chef Antonio Amalle. Its reconstruction was entrusted to the architect J. Puch-y-Cadafalk.
Josep Pouch y Cadafalque is a Catalan architect, art historian and politician. He is one of the largest representatives of Art Nouveau in Spanish architecture, who, along with Antonio Gaudí, created a number of landmark buildings with unique architecture and design in Barcelona. During the Modern period, the architect uses as a model the rural buildings of the Catalan aristocracy (Casa), to which he adds elements of the architecture of the northern peoples...
These buildings include the Amalie House - whose design fluctuates between Neo-Gothic and Modern. The stepped pediment of the building resembles Dutch Gothic, but the design of the upper floor windows is Spanish Gothic.
The decoration of the facade used many austere and slightly fancy details, and its colors invite associations with confectionery.
The main entrance is decorated with themed biblical sculptures and subjects of medieval legends. Slightly higher, there are allegories for music, painting, architecture and sculpture. Above the entrance is also an allegorical portrait of the homeowner.
Inside this wonderful building, judging by the reviews and photos, it is absolutely worth visiting!
The Amalle House is located on Paseo de Gracia Street in the Eixample district near the Ballo House and the Leo Morera House, and with them is part of the Quarter of Dissent, so named because of the stylistic heterogeneity of the modernist buildings that form it... Well, personally, I didn't notice any disagreement - I think all the buildings fit perfectly together.. but I'm not an expert.)))

The casa is adjoining the casa Batllo so it seems difficult not to see it unless you focus on its neighbor. The building deserves a stop and admire the details all over the building.

A must see place of Catalan Modernism.
We ate in the cafeteria, super healthy (salad, natural vegetable juices).
After we couldn't stop tasting his chocolate, excellent!!
Finally we did the guided tour with Gianfranco, a great guide, explained everything carefully ... I advise you, very good, polite and friendly .

Architecture was amazing. Well worth a visit. The outside gives you a taste of what is to come. You are guided around this house in a small group with an audio guide. They give you plastic to put on your feet and a tour guide opens the rooms one at a time while you listen to the audio. This house is so different to Gaudi’s but very interesting and well worth a visit if you are in Barcelona.

I highly recommend touring Casa Amatller. While I’m a huge Gaudí fan, I was blown away by this gem designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch in 1900. It’s a bit of a hidden treasure, so I got to explore it with just two other people, making the experience even more special. The tour was a fun mix of a staff-led walkthrough and audio guide.
Casa Amatller is a dazzling example of Catalan modernism, perfectly preserved with all its original furniture and décor. The only thing missing is the original owners, Amatller and his daughter Teresa, whose stories add so much charm to the visit.
Every inch of the house is a work of art, with incredible details that are breathtaking.

We had a fun time and chocolate was awesome. The house tour is worth it, but pay attention to the times there’s usually guided tours every morning in different languages (catalán, Spanish and English). There are some times that they will give you a small gift so look into it.

The neighbor gets more visitation, but the facade of the Amatller house, drew me more attention and was an attraction to meet her. After visiting the inside, guided and paid visit has a little chocolate tasting ⁇ and for you to buy too, in addition to the house store for you to make a snack and rest a little.

Dear visitor,
First, we would like to apologize for the delay in our answer. We are open every day, from 10 am to 6 pm, and you it is possible to buy the tickets in the museum or online. As many of the users say, there are three guided tours during the day (English always at 11 am) and videoguided tours in English, French, Spanish and Catalan every half an hour. However, groups are always accompanied by one of our tour guides, so you can ask them questions. The guides are also there in order to take care of the original furniture, materials and objects, which mostly are the original one.
Best regards,
Casa Museu Amatller.

It is possible to have a self-guided tour here with audioguide? If yes, how I can get this kind of ticket, I see on website only guided tour at 11 am in English and nothing about standard ticket for 1 hour. Thanks

What information is required when purchasing tickets for the online box that requires tax information/i.d?
Where is the box or link for a credit card number and 3 digit code ?
When I insert the credit card number in the tax id box I cannot insert all digits-it prevents inserting the last digit?

Please advise the difference between what is experienced on the 1 hour standard ticket and visit and the 30 minute express tour in English.
Does the 1 hour standard visit include an audioguide with English?
Is the 30 minute express tour a guided tour in English?
Is there also an 1 hour English guided tour at 11am? If so, how do I purchase tickets for that option and, if so, what is the cost ?
Skrevet 18. oktober 2016
Casa Amatler was not busy like the Gaudi attraction next door and it seemed possible just to turn up shortly before the desired hour. If any wait is entailed the cafe within the building is excellent.
I try not to pre-book as anything can happen to have you miss the booking!!
Skrevet 19. oktober 2016
Is there an online link to buy tickets for the English guided tour and is that tour offered daily on Nov 7,8, or 9?
What is the cost, including any senior rate?

We just walked in too, there were only 6 of us altogether and as everyone could speak English we didn't have to wait for a specific tour. We felt the tour was longer than half an hour but didn't note the times. Hope that this helps.
