We're not big on "tours" when we travel. We love to go do our own thing unguided and explore & experience at our own pace with our own curiosity driving us. But, we decided to give this one a shot for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did.
Pam had excellent knowledge and expertise. This tour wasn't just a food tour but a tour of Catalonia itself. Lots of interesting historic food, historic places and fascinating bits of Catalan culture and we learned about.
This felt like we were with Anthony Bourdain on his shown "no reservations" - learning so many interesting things we would have never known otherwise, trying foods I never would have thought to order. Starting from a working class "greasy spoon" breakfast place, to tasting cheese from markets and Iberian ham, to vermouth bars to a big lunch that has us try dishes I never would have thought to try at a local favorite. And so many little things in between. You really get a lot of value out of this. We finished the tour stuffed full, and it took our party of 7 about 5 hours to get through. It helped too that everyone who was with us were all fun and fascinating people to get to know too.
Catalan food is so interesting and has such an interesting history, along with their people. Something I wouldn't have known without doing this tour. It was was really special learning about it through the lense of their food and will absolutely be the highlight of our honeymoon.
