A Wonderful Small Group Food Tour Experience

Being able to visit "local" eating places with a local tour guide to learn about and enjoy the food while, at the same time, touring the city while waling between restaurants was great.

Our guide Susana was a gem of a person whom my wife and I, along with three other people on the tour, appreciated. She took us to local food establishments that we never would have gone to on our own, and we were especially thankful we could skip the lines of people waiting to get in.

We are very glad that we opted for Food Lovers Company for our Barcelona food tour.

Excellent tour with Susanna who was warm, welcoming, and dealt very will with any bumps in the road in our tour. I would do it again!

Fantastic Food Tour

My wife and I took a private Tapas tour with Susana which was a wonderful experience! We met her in Barceloneta and proceeded on from there through the Gothic Quarter and ended up in El Born. Each of the stops were very different from one another, all with generous portions and the appropriate libation. Between stops, we walked through the neighborhoods, went up in a church tower for views, passed through the old gates in the Roman walls and generally got a good orientation to the city. The whole thing lasted over 4 hours, which seemed to fly by. We did it our first full morning in Barcelona, which I would recommend - we felt quite comfortable navigating the streets after that introduction. Susana was a delight to talk to and filled us in on all things Barcelona. Afterwards, she sent me a list of other restaurants to try, especially for an evening meal. We tried 3 of them during our stay. Highly recommend.

Best tour ever!

We met with Suzanne for our morning tour and she took us to a wonderful little local restaurant nearby which had a table reserved for us. The place was packed with locals and Suzanne ordered dish after dish of house specialties explaining each. WOW, the food was outstanding and Suzanne was an exceptional guide. We visited several more restaurants and bars with the same exciting results. Between all the eating and drinking, Suzanne took us on a fascinating tour of the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. Best tour ever!

Spectacular winery experience

Hands down the best winery tour experience. Susana is a warm, friendly guide who shares her passion for authentic, local cuisine and wines. We started with a gorgeous hike with spectacular views through a winery where we had a picnic including wine from the vineyard and locally made cheese and meats. The next winery was incredible. We enjoyed a 7 course lunch with each course paired with a wine from the winery. Mont rubi is an incredible winery with an owner who is doing amazing work to care for the land and make fabulous wines with local varietals. It was an unforgettably wonderful experience

Great food and great experience

Cannot recommend enough. We ended up getting a private tour because no one else had signed up for the day/time, but they still did the tour anyway at the same price with just two of us. On the tour we went to many little restaurants we'd never have found or gotten into on our own even with the best research.

One great feature I'll note is that the tour did not feel "cookie-cutter" at all. Our guide was asking us throughout the tour what foods we like, what we'd eaten so far in Barcelona and adding in things she thought we'd like based on that which is a really great thing on a tour like this.

It can be really overwhelming in a city like Barcelona with such a culinary tradition and reputation to try and find the "right" places to go without finding yourself in a mob trying to get in to "the place." This tour did not disappoint in getting you to those really wonderful hidden gems with delicious food.

A MUST TO DO IN BARCELONA!!

We shared a wonderful evening touring neighborhoods, taverna’s and tapas bistros that everyday tourists would walk right by, or never even find! Our host Susana knew all the secret spots that only the locals know about! The food, beverages and hospitality was exceptional. Susana led tours were well organized, and every proprietor made room for our arrival …. while others had to wait outside! We booked this early during our time in Barcelona, and it made the rest of our dining experiences much more knowledgeable. In addition, Susana provided invaluable tips on other restaurants and neighborhoods to visit.

I cannot recommend this company’s service any more strongly! It was Magnifico!

Outstanding!

Our guide, Susana, was extraordinary. She took us to 4 small restaurants in the old city. The food in each was excellent-lots of local seafood prepared flavorfully. She adapted to our preferences in types of food to order and quantities. She also knew so much of the history of the area and pointed out architectural features from the Roman era and subsequent settlements. It was worth every Euro! She made recommendations for restaurants and other things to see on the rest of our visit. I give this my highest recommendation.

Amazing Eating & Learning Experience!!

I would recommend this company to anybody who travels here and wants an amazing experience. Susannah was a very fun and very informative tour guide and went above and beyond her duties as our tour guide, even doing little detours to show us interesting facts about the city. Was definitely one of my favorite parts of my trip.

Great Barcelona food tour!

My husband and I signed up for this Barcelona walking food tour. Our lovely guide, Naomi, is a Barcelona native and very knowledgeable about the local food and culture. We went to 4 small, intimate places for really interesting tapas and a fabulous charcuterie, accompanied by vermouth, cava and some wine. I'm so happy we signed up for this tour on our first day in Barcelona as it helped to orient us to the city (the tour covered the Gothic quarter), and we learned what to expect in a tapas bar. Naomi also timed our arrival at the cathedral, where we climbed the tower, for sunset, which provided a nice photo op, and a beautiful view of the city. We would highly recommend this tour!
