The museum is a hidden gem in the center of Milan. The museum houses a rich collection of art from various periods with ample information in a stunning location. It might appear small when you enter, but the upper floor houses enough to fill more than two hours on itself. If you go for a city trip to Milan, Poldi Pezzoli houses a variety to keep you excited after two or three days sightseeing and visiting.

I am impressed with the various collections from a historian who also goes back in time. It was a good two hour trip and see the different ages of the artifacts.

A local gem that nobody ones but it was a private collection museum simply experts in jewellery and 16th century religious paintings. You can also find early works of Michelangelo and Raphael

The Poldi Pezzoli Museum is located in a historic building in Via Manzoni a few steps from Piazza della Scala. The visit can start from the Arms Room on the ground floor. A spectacular staircase leads to the upper floor where, in the elegant rooms rich in period furnishings, you can admire paintings and masterpieces by great painters such as Bellini Mantegna, Botticelli, Raphael, Piero della Francesca, Canaletto, Antonello da Messina, Michelangelo, Lippi.....
I stayed a long time to admire the Madonna and Child by Botticelli.
The Poldi Pezzoli is a wonderful house museum to visit! Friendly staff.

I think this was my favourite visit during my trip to Milan. The reason being is it felt like the equivalent of a boutique hotel for museums - small in comparison to other museums with such fine collections, it’s hidden away and, when we visited, hardly anyone was there so it felt like ours.
Another reason is Antonio Pollaiuolo's "Portrait of a Lady,” which was a joy to see in real life. It was everything and more but the Poldi Pezzoli is more than one painting with a wide variety of masterpieces including artworks, furniture, clocks and watches, armour and weapons. Masterpieces include works by Botticelli, Mantegna, Michelangelo, and Canaletto. I really enjoyed the watch collection, compasses and the armour.
Also loved the display cabinet with the fine lace from around Europe including the East Midlands.
And the best bit? The fountain in the stairwell with the goldfish.

Walking along Via Manzoni this morning I could not but devote some time to this that I do not hesitate to define as an authentic excellence of the city and the entire country, a heritage of inestimable artistic value that is due to the passion and expertise of Gian Giacomo Poldi Pezzoli.
I visited it several times with my wife and also with our son when he was still young (we talk about the Eighties), just to get him used to appreciate beauty in all its forms. ln reality the definition of "museum" is a bit narrow, as it is a real temple of art where thousands of specimens are concentrated including paintings, furniture, porcelain, jewelry, clocks and several archaeological finds. The intimate study of Dante appears suggestive and truly unique, as does the weapons room, obviously much appreciated by children and teenagers. Remarkable is the picture gallery with paintings from different eras, starting with the famous "Portrait of a Young Lady" by Pollaiolo, not surprisingly risen to the emblem of the museum.
Unmissable destination to visit absolutely.

Museum in a historic building in Milan a few steps from La Scala. I went there to admire the beautiful paintings by Piero della Francesca, part of the Augustinian Politician gathered for the occasion and from other important museums. But the museum on the first floor also has a rich collection of works of art (especially paintings) from the Renaissance and late Renaissance up to the 18th century and ranging from Sodoma... to Raffaellino del Garbo... to Botticelli... to Raphael... to Tiepolo... to Canaletto... to Mantegna and many others. Also interesting is the weapons room on the ground floor worth a visit.

I would like to comment on the visit to the polyptych. An altarpiece is designed to be looked at with the nose turned upwards, the choice of the installer to place panels at eye level and in a narrow environment, questionable in itself, becomes devastating when the number of visitors exceeds ten unit I went there on a weekday and found herds of pensioners with their smartphones and cameras in tow. It felt like being in a corner of the Rinascente on the day of the sales, not to mention the fact that the ticketing company does not refund the ticket in case of movement of the date. Amateurs in jeopardy, an experience not to be repeated.

At the Poldi Pezzoli Museum, for a short while longer, that is until 24 June 2024, it is possible to admire some elements of the Augustinian Triptych by Piero della Francesca, brought together for the first time and coming from multiple museums. A wonder not to be missed. We recommend booking tickets and entry times, and don't save on the 3 euros for the audio guide, if anything. The explanations given are excellent, without them you would miss a lot, actually a lot. And then visit the rest of the museum which is a real gem.

What can we say about the Poldi Pezzoli museum? Which is a marvel! Nothing else can be said.
The exhibition dedicated to Piero della Francesca's polyptych is magnificent, really well structured.

Sedie a rotelle non ne ho viste. Sicuramente c'è un ascensore, perché questa estate avevo un menisco fuori uso e l'ho usato spesso. Si chiede al personale e si sale con un addetto. Io telefonerei anche per far presente il problema delle sedie a rotelle, magari ne hanno di pieghevoli o comunque trovano una soluzione, come è giusto che sia. Di solito sono gentili e disponibili, anche al telefono. Li ho sentiti anche ieri per un'informazione. Sempre garbati. Buona visita.
