What a splendid place. Wonderful plants, a beautiful allee for strolling, benches on which to sit and enjoy the view over the sea, and sculpture, too. Do not miss this very special and beautifully maintained free public garden.

Preporucujem ovo mesto👌

What a wonderful public garden affording great vistas over the sea below. Clean and well maintained, it’s also free. Don’t miss out on this lovely space. From here, there is a rough walkway back down to the train station - maybe 30 minutes.

Walking is very much part of our daily routines, it helps us to burn-off some of the calories from our main interests (food and wine and dining out). We also like to visit gardens and see trees, shrubs and flowering plants that we often would like to add to our own garden. Here in Sicily the warm climate does mean that some flora is dependant on the constant warmth: for example Bougainvillea is a beautiful shrub with a mass of colourful blooms, but it dies if the temperature falls below -1C (and some guidance suggests +6C is required).

In visiting this garden we did see some interesting plants: Tiger’s Claw and Angel’s Trumpet amongst others. The views, particularly towards the south west were often rewarding as the ground falls away quite steeply. It is possible to see large sections of the coastline from edge of the cliff wall.

Sections of this garden were closed and our visit was somewhat affected, and there were some rather dilapidated buildings that were fenced off. Some of these buildings indicate rather haphazard design or use of unsuitable materials (e.g. tree branches) as structural parts. As they are now, it is obvious to even the most foolish that these structures would collapse under even a small load. Even when they were new I wouldn’t have risked life or limb to venture into or onto these buildings. They are all fenced-ff except one, in which I suspect gardeners store tools in the lower part of the building.

The garden is moderately sized: it features a play area for young children and a memorial to those that fell in the Great War (WWI) when Italy were our allies. There is an old field-gun piece at the memorial and I am sure that I saw plaques that have been added to commemorate those who fell in WWII.

It was a pleasant visit here and we did return later in the week to walk into an area that had been temporarily closed. We did enjoy some of the spectacular panoramic views that we saw from the cliff edge wall.

There are small street signs that guide you from the main area to the gardens. Just be aware that it is quite hilly to access them unless you take a cab.
This lovely garden is located away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist area. It has something for everyone with a WWII memorial to Italians that fought using a mini-sub (onsite) to beautiful architecture, strolling pathways, little areas for hanging out on a park bench, statuary and of course, the gardens with a magnificent view. One of my favorites of Taormina!

We can still see that the gardens were left abandoned but they seem to have been brought back to life. They are quite well treated.
Anyway, the views over the bay and the Etna are amazing.

Being a garden lover, I appreciated the visit very much. But given the reputation and rop-10 must-sees in Taormina I admit that I was slightly disappointed.

The gardens are beautiful, true, and it was a welcome break from the bustle of main street Taormina. However, it was also a little underwhelming considering the hype.

A nice break away from the busy Taormina town and streets. Although the park can be busy too the plants, flowers, bushes and trees create an oasis of calm. Lots of seating and of course more stunning views of the coastline and Etna. Not a massive park but numerous paths and possible to walk a route to see it all. Also part of the park are WWII memorials and also a mini sub plus there is a series of elaborate wooden and stone buildings that neither look old or new and are beautiful to see. Shame you can’t go in one or two of the high ones but they add to the park experience. Easy to get to from the many winding streets that you can follow from the centre.

Very peaceful and peaceful park with a magnificent view to the Ionian Sea and mount Etna, on clear days you can see as far as Catania
Park is free and open daily from 9 Am to sunset
The park located next to Hotel Villa Paradiso and only 5 minutes walk to city center and the Greek Theatre
The park has a very nice and well kept garden and incredibly quiet and many interesting sculptures and a memorial commemorates the residents of Taormina who died in the First and Second World War.

Park have an interesting history and there are many artifacts in the park that tell it’s story. The park was originally the residence of a Scottish Lady Florence Trevelyan and remnants of her house can still be found in the gardens (Villa de Comnule)
