This museum is an oasis of calm in the middle of Florence's tourist center. The building interior is very interesting architecturally, and the displayed items include furniture, art, tapestries, ceramics and an interesting quilt that tells a story about a knight who fights to prevent taxation and takeover by a foreign knight. Kids will enjoy the video that explains the story. The top floor has a display on lace making and has pull out drawers showing many examples. On a Saturday early afternoon there were fewer than 30 people in the entire 4 storey museum. They accommodate people with mobility issues with an elevator and there are a few places to sit and rest.

A lovely traditional house, furnished mostly as it would have been in the 15th century - the painted walls are amazing, and there is quite a bit to see although the top floor wasn’t open on the day of our visit. No queue, and although we had reserved tickets, you could probably have just turned up - a refreshing change from other Florence museums. Well worth a visit

The visit to this Palace is perhaps not among the most popular visits among the wonders of Florence; suggested to me by a friend living in the city, it really struck me with its particularity and beauty. I must also add the professionalism of the guide (free), a very kind and knowledgeable lady who revealed the various secrets of the building that I would not have been able to appreciate on my own.

How wonderful!
after the offices three hours of wonder
it is sweet to be pampered by this ancient and silent palace
the staff rich in Tuscan culture and kindness accompanies you on this visit where children are very involved, making some ancient objects familiar
because objects also seen in the Harry Potter saga
and what about "scales that enjoy changing"
really big
and how beautiful antiquity is
Thank you

Palazzo Davanzati is an ancient fourteenth-century stately home, located in the historic center of Florence and takes its name from one of the families who owned it. The visit begins from the suggestive courtyard and extends over three practically mirrored floors. Although a large part of the furnishings are not the original ones but come from the deposits of various Florentine museums, the result obtained is highly appreciable and there is an authentic atmosphere of other times. In addition to the furnishings, you can admire eye-catching wall paintings and decorated wooden ceilings in almost every room. The visit takes place in complete autonomy and there are staff who are very available to provide any type of explanation or curiosity. The top floor is accessible only at certain times, so when you are notified of its opening it is best to prioritize your visit. A museum that I highly recommend visiting, plus the fact that it is not usually very crowded will make you appreciate all its beauties better.

I went here in the afternoon. It wasn’t crowded. It was about 6 euro to get in. I lucked out in timing and got to see the third floor which isn’t always open. It’s a super cool old building and they have a lot of old furnishings still inside. It must have been really great to be a rich person in Florence back in history. It’s great that this is preserved.

After the Uffizi visit and the accompanying mental exhaustion, this visit was the opposite, there are no thousands of exhibits to visit. This is a old building lovingly restored and furnished to showcase life in the 15th century. There was no queue and it was only 6 euros ( my wife complained she went to the Academia Gallery, where the statue of David is housed, and apart "David," there was little else, and at 16 euros felt short changed and wished she came with me . I would throughly recommend the Museo di Palazzo.

Very interesting example of a medieval building. The exhibition is very well thought out and does not drown out the environments which actually recall the atmosphere of the time. The decorations are remarkable and it is a little gem in the center of one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Advanced Palace is the hidden and less touristy Florence. The palace is a medieval and Renaissance jewel, almost intact, with a fascinating history. Courteous and proud staff of the monument. Not missing it means having really seen Florence.

I agree with the previous opinions. This visit is really interesting. we are immersed in the Middle Ages in Florence.
In any case, this palazzo is more interesting than the Palazzo Medici. And entry is the same price (7€)

When we visited it wasn't a formal tour. Access to the upper floors was allowed at certain times and we looked around on our own and we certainly had more than enough time to see everything in an hour.

I am having great difficulty finding current info about this museum. What hours is it open and what is the admission in 2018. I just want to visit on my own not spend $500 on a guided tour. Is this possible?
Skrevet 22. april 2018
Can anyone provide information on a public tour that goes through the Palazza Davanzati? I'll be coming to Florence alone next Spring, but can only seem to find private tours and I'd really like to see the entire thing. Is that possible without an official tour group?
Skrevet 23. oktober 2017
The museum does public tours of all floors at 10, 11,and 12 on “normal open days”. Those days are specified on their website (which I cannot link to here).
I would recommend getting there early by 15 minutes or so to secure a place on the tour.
Skrevet 14. januar 2018
Also, we will be there the afternoon of Nov 8 and all day Nov 9 only. Can only go there late afternoon the 8th or early the 9th or mid afternoon the 9th. Ah, the difficulty with tour schedules! When does it open and close and what options for those days if anyone knows the November schedule!!!
Grazie!
Skrevet 19. oktober 2017
Where did you contact to make the reservation for the top floors? Thanks!
Skrevet 19. oktober 2017
When I was there on a Friday, they told me at the front desk that the upper rooms would be accessible at a specific time that morning. I'm not sure whether this is the case every morning or only on certain days. Please look up their website. You could also call or send them an e-mail. Best to find out in advance.
Skrevet 30. oktober 2017
I am reserving the upper floors but was wondering how long it takes to see the bottom. I need to tell them what time for ticket. Thanks.
Skrevet 8. juni 2017
Hi there, I think 15 to 20 mins maximum 😊I can reckon if they have already done lots of Florence then it would be quicker 😃
Skrevet 13. juni 2017
Hello, I booked entrance to upper floors of the museum via e-mail.
Should I also buy a ticket online or not?
Thanks in advance for help
Skrevet 7. mars 2017
I don't think it's necessary. You have to show up on time though, at the staircase leading to the upper floor
