We were taken here on a walking tour and we decided to go back the next day as the jewellery was so bespoke and all totally hand made in the little shop. They are so passionate about their work and it shows.
I treated myself to one of the hammered necklaces and matching earrings they are fabulous and I cannot wait to wear them.
Definitely worth a look and a visit whilst in Florence. Was really nice to buy the products from the actual people that made them.

We visited these artisans with the help of a private guide, marco@verzi.it, and we were so moved by their kindness and artistry. They took time in their small shop, to show us their beautiful work with gold jewelry. It is not cheap, my friends, but lovely beyond words. Come ready to appreciate real people who do real art with gold. An honor.

My wife and I are in Florence for a few nights on our Honeymoon and wanted to have my wedding band engraved on the inside as a forever reminder of the trip. We found this place on TripAdvisor due to the great reviews and the fact that it’s off the beaten path of the Ponte Vecchio. The shop is tucked away on a quiet side street and the owners (who have owned the place for multiple generations) were super authentic and accommodating, catering to us even though we hardly speak a lick of Italian. They engraved my band BEAUTIFULLY within a few hours and the price was shockingly reasonable.
I have a very hard time believing anything negative about this place - especially about the people that work there. There are plenty of local merchants in touristy cities that are unwelcoming to tourists but this experience was the complete opposite of that. Thank you for something that I’ll treasure for the rest of my life!

I went on a trip with the University to Florence for a week, and as part of the group activities we went to visit Nerdi (probably after seen the recommendations on TripAdvisor). During the visit they explained us how they work there products and showed us some of the beautiful works they have in display. My girlfriend’s birthday is coming up and she loves these kind of things so I was decided to get her something nice. I am a student and working as stagiere so I counted on a modest budget but I wanted to get her something special like a nice accessory made by a local artisan instead of a big brand staff. So, once we finished the visit I stayed there with Daniela and her partner just talking and seeing what could I get for my modest budget. We agreed I will come back on Friday before I leave the city so as to decide better.
Today, (Friday) once I finished my trip and just before taking the train I went back with all my bags and stuff. We took some time to see some pieces and I even notice they started getting mad at me because I was not deciding myself (apparently I am annoying for just taking my time to decide a nice present). Anyways, my train was leaving so I finally decided to purchase a lovely golden bracelet with two golden and two white golden (four in total) stars (which I even asked some questions on them because they were really nice). We weighted the thing and agreed on a price. Once I paid and they hand me in the bracelet I noticed it didn’t have the four stars anymore. I asked what was going on and they explained me they were not included in the price. Are you kidding me? I) We weighted the hole bracelet WITH the Stars, ii) we discussed the way they were fabricated and iii) even convinced me that the two white golden stars where cheaper so as to arrive to a final price within my budget, and now you are telling me it was not included? I asked them to weight just the bracelet, and I tried to google up to try to understandthe price of gold in there so as to find an explanation. Of course I have no idea of this and the extra price that they include on it for the artisan’s job. We discussed for a few moments and noticing they were not going to yield and considering my train was leaving I had to take just the bracelet and run to the train station with an inexplicable fury. I did made it to the train for 4 min if anybody wants to know.
I had never written any comments or anything in a social media or this kind of platforms cause I usually don’t take things bad or complain on small things, but this kind of things just disgust me and I don’t want anybody to experience it. These people pretend to be very nice and honorable on the work they do so as to differentiate from big brands but at the end they just care about one thing when someone enters to their store. Now I am in a train writing this words and swallowing all my anger. I won’t say a word to my girlfriend because I don’t want to destroy the expectations for her birthday present but for sure Nerdi have destroyed the expectations and love I put into her gift.

We are very sorry that you feel this way. On the day you came you were with a group of students who all left satisfied. You commissioned a work that was delivered proudly on time but you just left it there. Nonetheless you proceeded to buy another which you happily left with the removal of the stars was agreed-upon with you in the store in order to lower the price.
We would never steal from our clients, that is just blatantly untrue. We understand that you are displeased with our pricing. We take pride in making our jewelry with upmost care and love of the arts. Our pricing is as low it can get.
Again, very sorry if you weren't pleased but we always try our best and we find this out of the blue review very disheartening.

Ho visitato il laboratorio con la mia classe di Design Oreficeria e... che dire... l'entusiasmo è salito a mille! I ragazzi, che già conoscevano in parte le tecniche, sono rimasti affascinati dalla maestria e dall'interpretazione contemporanea e preziosa su gioielli raffinati e unici, eseguiti interamente a mano. Peccato che gli altri laboratori non aprano le porte al pubblico, i giovani avrebbero bisogno di "toccare con mano" queste realtà !

Nerdi is artisan Florence at its best. One of true delights in visiting Florence is shopping there. So many goods --- jewelry, leather, paper, etc. --- are wonderfully made by hand. Crafts passed from one generation to next. Nerdi, hand making jewelry, carries on this tradition with excellence.
Originally, learned about Nerdi from Wall Street Journal article. You have to work to find shop. It is very central, but not in typical retail setting. Google Maps guided us there. Work is actually done in shop.
Visited on our last trip in 2017. Met and worked with Daniela, latest generation of this family, and bought wonderful bracelet and earrings for my wife.
On this most recent trip, we went back to have some minor work done on bracelet and be tempted by Nerdi's offerings. Worked with Daniela again. Bought necklace, earrings, and Christian cross pendant to be worn as necklace. Pendant was made by Daniela's grandfather and had recently been bought back by Nerdi.
All our pieces are exquisite and unique. People at Nerdi could not be nicer or more helpful. Feel like we not only took home some great jewelry, but some of Florence's history as well. Highly recommend.

This is the real Ponte Vecchio quality - the rest on the Ponte Vecchio is not. I brought some broken bracelets that I´ve been kept for many years. They fixed the problems within 24-hours, with very reasonable price. My jewelries were nothing expensive, but had such sentimental value. I was SO happy to have them back on my arms.
They could also reveal some information about the other jewelries I wore by looking at them for 10 seconds. They do know what they are doing. I would recommend you to go to Nerdi Orafi instead of heading to those shiny stores on the Ponte Vecchio, if you appreciate professionalism and honesty.

We hired a private tour guide in Florence. She was wonderful. Its worth the extra price to skip lines. She only showed us what we were interested in . seeing. After our tour I asked her to recommend a place to buy jewelry. My idea. Well this place is a wholesale shop which hand makes pieces for all the jewelry stores . It is family owned with one of a kind pieces! Beautiful jewelry at wholesale prices! Of course I purchased more then I needed. The quality and exclusive designs could not be beat. .If you want jewelry you Must visit his shop !. The owners are so proud of their pieces.

Fun trip in Firenza (Florence) is to go to this family owned business where the sisters one a designer the other the sales person guide you through the making of unique and personalized jewelry. They will tell you in the story of how their father started this business shortly after WWII. How he transferred his love of jewelry making to his daughters and how they have carried it on for 70 years. Their custom made pieces are special and their enthusiasm is infectious. It very interesting to watch the jeweler take silver or gold wire convert it into beautiful and special pieces. They design and produce pieces for all budgets but most of all they make you feel it was especially for you. The keep sake are for a lifetime.
