We often come to the aquarium because our 6-year-old loves it
Cozy place, well maintained that gives a pleasant and fun path
This time we also did the path “behind the scenes” with Giulio, passionate guide and very helpful!

It’s always a good experience, we had been years behind but sometimes it’s good to go back, the contribution of the ticket is used to maintain facilities that are not limited to just “exhibiting” animals for our pleasure to discover... they save them, care for them and put them back in their habitats when the time comes! Thanks they deserve it!

For a spin, we go to the aquarium to show the baby some fish, maybe seen closer. For him it was beautiful, he was amazed to see these glasses with them passing by, and they seemed close. For us grown-ups, however, a little sadness to see these poor animals in these tanks

With a rainy day we decide to go to Livorno to visit the aquarium, a little dated maybe it should be modernized, fast enough to visit and well-arranged spaces in short if you do not know what to do is a day to spend differently maybe dreaming of tropical countries

Brilliant, the staff were all so friendly and the aquarium is fantastic. Such a great range of fish. The turtles were beautiful. There’s also a little hidden reptile exhibition on the second floor.

Apple Maps and Tripadvisor show the wrong opening hours. Apparently it is no longer high season and only open Saturday and Sunday. Too bad, would be a good bad weather program with children. We were therefore faced with a closed door. So we could not visit the aquarium before our departure.

When we arrived we were standing in front of a locked door. After a while of waiting and knocking, someone came and told us that you are only open Saturday and Sunday. By homepage would be open.

We stayed as families in August 2024 in Livorno. Since we had only booked our ferry the next day, we decided to visit the aquarium with the children. It rained very heavily that day, which of course caused a lot of people to do indoor Things to do. That's why the aquarium was very crowded. But already here it became apparent that it is simply Italian-run. Total chaos, like everything in this area. The visitors queued without any order in all directions. No sign of dizipline. What was more, only a single cash desk was open, where the ladies were happily gossiping, rather than giving momentum. After 45 minutes in a crowd of sweaty people, we finally made it inside the aquarium. We immediately passed the completely unnecessary souvenir photo by the staff. This was also the reason why nothing went further in the entrance area. Inside I was immediately very disappointed by the tiny aquariums and basins. I've seen bigger ones in the private household. The glass was actually dirty almost everywhere and often hardly recognizable. The biodiversity also left much to be desired. The underwater tunnel with maybe 2 sharks inside is also the smallest I have ever seen this planet. No comparison to the aquarium in Catholica on the Adriatic and certainly not SeaWorld Orlando. Even Legoland has a nicer aquarium. But most of all I really had to laugh about the Italian double standard. Rubber gloves were rinsed in one pool, while jellyfish swam next to them in another. It was written about the fact that turtles in particular cannot distinguish between the two when they eat, so plastic gets into the animals. So please keep the seas clean. That's what the Italians write? Have you ever looked into your streets in Livorno and the surrounding area? There the garbage piles up on all corners! The harbour alone is hard to beat in terms of dirt. This people really just throw every trash in the area! And they want to teach us to keep the seas clean? Just ridiculous! Anyway, the "aquarium experience" was over after 20-25 minutes, the more was simply not offered. An absolute disappointment. But it suits this city. It's a horror, too.

Evidently at the aquarium they do not read reviews and children only care about shopping at the shop

Reading the other reviews I reconfirm everything.
The structure is old, modernized but with little attention to what is not the path (which is short but not bad).
The impression is that there is no interest in visitors.
Cash desk that does not distinguish between online tickets or regular ticketing, turnstiles disabled.
Do you have to wait for the activity,maybe with children? All standing, zero benches or chairs. So you're going to the bathroom in the meantime? You have to cross half an aquarium.
Visit with the turtle lady? They write on the site that it lasts 1 hour, at the checkout they tell you that actually it would be 30 minutes with actual 15. The Guide, hyper listless, does nothing but say what you read on the walls, and at full speed. In our case he had 3 (number) children and therefore could put a little more involvement. Also telling about the peculiarity of this aquarium that also deals with recovery and assistance of marine fauna.
If children's entertainment is made from a turtle-shaped backpack....well then don't. Overall a disappointing visit, compared to expectations and the Costa brand, which perhaps here does not want to spend

Hi, is anyone else having trouble buying tickets online? I've triet different credit cards for 3 days; I keep getting "transaction not completed" without explanation. I have successfully purchased tickets for other venues in Italy using the same credit cards yesterday ...

Buongiorno, il percorso dietro le quinte si acquistare direttamente il giorno che della visita( oggi, sabato pomeriggio)o va prenotato dal lunedì al venerdì?
