Highly recommend Via del Vino tours! From the first exchange I knew we'd chosen the right tour. Being with Sue was like being with a friend. She took us to many local places for delicious food and we were always treated like VIPs. The history of the town is fascinating and there were so many things we learned. I am typically the "guide" in our family so it was a treat not to have to do the research myself. Last, after a BIG night two of us were not feeling so great the next morning. Sue was understanding and cared for us like a family member. She even had her husband, Richard, bring us stomach medicine. ;-). I cannot recommend Sue enough!

The highlight of our trip to Umbria

This tour is a must do for any going to (or anywhere near Perugia)! Sue could not have been more friendly, accommodating, or knowledgable. All the stops on the tour are legit (real local places, no tourist traps). The food at all the stops was outstanding. We learned a TON about the food, the culture and the history of Perugia in a way that was fun and accessible and held the interest and attention of our teenagers. Three generations of my family agree, this tour was the highlight of our trip.

We highly recommend the Via del Vino culinary tour in Perugia.
Sue and Richard are amazing guides: The tour was very informative, interesting and full of humor and passion for food, history and Perugia in general.
It was one of the hights of our trip to Umbria, don’t miss it.

Spectacular
We received a wonderful history of Perugia combined with great food at many different local restaurants and cafes. It was a terrific way to be introduced to Perugia. Richard is a charming and knowledgeable host. We highly recommend this tour.

Great food and company
Richard is well informed about local food, history, culture, and architecture, and is very congenial. His tour was fun and delicious, and took us to a number of fabulous cafes and shops where we met the owners and sampled generous portions of local specialities. Great way to see Perugia! I wish there was a Richard in every town we’re visiting!

We took the walking food tour of Perugia with Richard. Had a great time seeing the sites and enjoying Richard company and knowledge of the city and it's history. The food was just right, especially the olive oil stop with truffled pasta. Would highly recommend.

Guter Foodwalk, auf gutem Food Niveau jedoch darfst du keine Top Gastronomie erwarten.
Gute Kulinarische Begehung im Zentrum,
solltest du jedoch Top Gastronomie erwarten wird es nicht ganz reichen.

Ansonsten hat es Richard soweit gut gemacht.

Thank you for joining our tour in Perugia and for taking the time to leave us this review. The tour is intended to highlight the simple, but delicious foods of Umbria that are linked to centuries of ancient tradition. Some of the foods (truffles, Fagiolina del Trasimeno) have been eaten here since the time of the Etruscans. Other foods are intimately linked to peasant traditions, which are talked about in detail on the tour. This is not a tour for "Top Gastronomy," but rather a tour that highlights the history of the beautiful city of Perugia through its foods. We are sorry if you expected something different than what we advertise the tour to be.

Delightful, delectable, delicious!

Perugia is known for exquisite chocolates and naturally this tour included an interesting voyage into chocolate making and of course tasting with a young and enthralling chocolatier. A local, long standing family spice shop with, among other delights, secret recipe botanical bitters & amaro tastings. A wineshop/restaurant titillated w/several local wines and homemade pasta with truffles. History, architecture and more tastes! A full and fully enjoyable 4+hours with our fun and knowledgeable guide Sue who has an easy and wonderful relationship with her town and the locals who make this tour unforgettable!

My sister and I took the tour in October, mid week, so it happened that we had a private tour with Richard. Richard is an excellent guide, full of information, kind and friendly. The tour was interesting and delicious and we enjoyed it very much. We highly recommend it.

A great food experience, and un unexpected historical tour!
Friendly couple with in depth knowledge of local food, wine and history! Even though we arrived late, through our own fault, we were well recieved and guided to some amazing places in this historical city!
