My husband and son went on a ride; they raved about it and my son (10) didn't stop smiling the whole time. Wonderful guides! No website (that we could find) but just email Asa and she'll reply promptly!

This was probably the most amazing ride that I've been on. I came to Iceland wanting to ride one of the ponies, but I'm the only person in my family with riding experience. The folks at Lyngfell Stables were very accommodating and were able to take me on a solo ride with 1 day's notice. There's really no ride experience necessary for this stable. The horses know the route and their gate is so smooth! I could not even tell when we went from a walk to the tolt. I'm trained in English saddle (although it's been quite a while), so I was amazed that no posting was necessary. The view on this ride is just breathtaking. We went through a pasture and down to the black sand beach, then up a ridge to overlook the coast on the other side. Highly recommend taking a ride with Lyngfell!

One of the top 3 trail rides of my life. The horses are genteel. The guides are great. The hospitality is wonderful. And the scenery changes every 15 minutes. It was so beautiful.

Asa and her husband were wonderful guides for my wife, 7 yr old son, and myself -- all beginner to novice riders. We saw and did many fun and memorable things during our weeklong trip to Iceland, but this was the highlight by far. Our ride was a circuit through a pasture, then along black sand and volcanic rock beaches, then up a mountain ridge to the top. Each vista was so awe-inspiring, we almost forgot to take photos. The horses were even-tempered and well-behaved; it was easy to trust them as they carried us through difficult terrain. Asa provided occasional commentary about the area and offered my son support when he was upset after first mounting the horse. One thing to be aware of: at the time of our trip, they only accepted cash (ISK). It was the only time we had to use the ATM the entire week. We are eager to return to Iceland, Westmannejar, and Lyngfell Stables in the future.

We had a fantastic ride with the Lyngfell owners today! The horses were fantastic and we found a good fit for each one of us (Mom and 4 teenage girls). The surroundings and the landscape was absolutely breathtaking with the highlight being on the beach and riding into the water!
A fantastic experience which we enjoyed every second of! We will be back 🥰

This was the most beautiful seaside/cliff side ride I have ever taken. It was glorious to ride along the cliffs and down to the black sand beach on the Icelandic horses. My boy, moon, in English was well behaved. The stable owners spoke English very well and gave good instructions. The price was reasonable. This is a must do.

I had a wonderful experience riding along the spectacular coast, the beach and up a mountain in the most beautiful part of the island. Lyngfell Stables is a family-owned small horse rental and I as well as another rider was guided by Asa. We were both not beginners but it certainly is also suitable for beginners. The horses were great with a lot of toelt and definetely well kept and happy horses. A very special experience. Unfortunately it was our last day on the Island, otherwise I would have come again. Highly recommended.

I contacted Asa at lyngfell@simnet.is, and she said she would pick myself and my wife up at the Heimaey cruise port. She arrived 5 minutes early on the appointed day and drove us 10 minutes out to the stables. We used the restroom, sign the waiver, and put on the riding helmets they provided. We left our bags at the stable, and she and her husband took us on a 1-hour ride through grassy fields with grazing sheep, down to a black sand beach, and up a rocky hillside to a beautiful view point. On the way back to the stables, we got to try out the special fifth gate that Icelandic horses are known for. Asa offered to drop us either in town or at the cruise port afterwards. It was 7000 ISK cash per person, which was much less expensive than a ship excursion, and we got a private tour. Highly recommend.

I did this tour with a few fellow scientists and everyone loved it! Two people had never ridden horses before, but Àsa and her son did a great job of matching horses to their skill level so that everyone was comfortable and safe. The ride lets you see the beautiful scenery on the south side of Heimaey. Since they are able to pick you up, you don't need a car to go on the tour. I highly recommend this, especially if you are considering a horse tour but are not yet certain. They are also extremely friendly people and answered my many questions about the island and the horses.

this was such a fabulous experience! asa the owner was so accommodating; she even picked us up at the ferry dock; don't look at the pictures ahead of time so you can be as amazed as my husband and I were; thank you asa and matilda ( and molly and peter our horses ) for such an amazing ride!! the horses look so beautiful and healthy and happy- we loved this experience

Hello. I don't see a price listed on the Trip Advisor listing or any information on how we can book a ride. My daughter and I will be there July 1st plus or minus a day. I grew up riding horses and rodeoing in Colorado and the surrounding states and would love to see the Icelandic horses. Your rides sound great. Could you please let me know how we can book this adventure and how much time we should allow. Also if you have any recommendations for places to stay on the island that would be great too. We are also wanting to see the Puffins and the Volcano and I don't want to schedule too little time in your beautiful area! I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello,
I will be coming to Vestmannaeyjar on the ferry on either September 7 or 8. My son and I were interested in booking the horse riding tour, but the first ferry to get us there does not leave until 09:45 and does not get us to the island in time for the 10:00 tour; alternatively, if we waited for the 18:00 tour, we would not be able to leave the island until the 21:00 ferry. Is there any flexibility in the start time of your tour to enable us to leave the island earlier than 21:00?
