The Viktor Frankl Center gives one a clear and loving sense of who Viktor Frankl was and why his work matters so deeply. If you wonder what the meaning of your life is and how to live responsibly and richly -- that is, if you're a human being -- you should spend a few hours at the Center.

I've read Viktor Frankl's book and believe it helped me to be happier in this difficult world. So when my wife and I planned our one-day trip to Vienna, the museum of Viktor Frankl was one of our key destinations there. We spent half of the day in the museum and I'm happy because of this decision. It's not just devoted to Viktor Franks's biography. In fact the museum is an interactive center where you will think and look for answers to important questions related to the meaning of life and the way how to be happy in this life. Highly recommend for everyone who is interested in psychology and especially Viktor Frankl's heritage.
Unfortunately it wasn't allowed to take photos inside the museum.

I studied Frankl's work when I began my graduate studies in counseling and I immediately felt a connection to him and his teachings. Frankl is an incredible psychiatrist and it was an honor to get to step into his life in spirit. I think this museum is a must see for anyone wanting to broaden their thought processes and understand his work. I also urge anyone who does enjoy his teachings to read his work! He is a remarkable person. We got to see some recordings of him answering some important questions and interact with his teaching in a concrete way. The staff was very sweet as well. It is a small museum, but it is worth every penny and you will undoubtedly think about life in a different way after going. Plan on spending a few hours there (without even realizing it!).

A must for all who've read Frankl's work/s and agree with his approach to life: I read Frankl at age 20 for the first time [exactly 50 years ago] when I was a college student. I've used some of his methods, consciously, to adapt to various situations that were challenging for me at the time. It was an honor to visit the center that was established in his memory and to visit the concise and aesthetically-pleasing display. Ironically, some of the displays resemble the general shape of the Torah Ark in synagogues; the Center has videos of interviews given by Frankl, and in one of them he tells about the circumstances in which he received a "Sign" [a message or hint] from God whether or not Frankl should use the visa he received to enter the USA and to escape to safety during WWII. Frankl's father comes home with some small pieces of rubble he found at a nearby synagogue and tells his son that one of the pieces has a letter of the alphabet that appears only once in the Ten Commandments, and that it must've come from the stone Tablets of Law that are above the Torah Ark in the destroyed synagogue [destroyed by the Nazis on Kristallnacht on 9-10 November 1938, as done to thousands of other synagogues in Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia]. The letter on the small piece of rubble is from the commandment to "Honor your Mother and Father ...". Viktor Frankl understood immediately what the message was and he let his visa to the USA expire without using it, so he could stay near his parents during the war in Europe and not desert them to go to safe shores. Thus, the shape of one of the displays in the Viktor Frankl Center - shaped like a Torah Ark - was very touching for me.

A friend gave me 'Mans Search for Meaning' after my son passed away last year. It was an amazingly helpful read/perspective check. The museum is a quiet reminder of the strength of human will in the face of incredible diversity. I think the world would be a better place if we all embraced our inner Frankl.

After visiting the prior installation I was hopeful that the new museum would be more extensive. The new one is very minimalist, though it does its best to present Frankl's approach in a succinct fashion. I am not certain what more I expected, -- maybe more about his life -- but it was enough to whet one's appetite by learning more by reading one of his major works.

A true born survivor Viktor Emil Frankl ( 1905 _ 1997 ) was an eminent Austrian neurologist and psychiatrist who was also a born survivor, during the dark days of WW2 he survived Theresienstadt,Auschwitz,Kaufering and Turkhelm, all notorious Nazi death camps ,I saw the red and white ribbons attached to this building and the plaque and read up about this extraordinary person, took a few photos of the building, fascinating and enlightening, there are many such plaques throughout Vienna, whenever my brother and I saw the white and red ribbons we checked them out,so much to learn about a city and its famous dignitaries.
Easy to locate on Marianenngasse and most definitely well worth checking out if your in the area.

A filosofia de vida do Viktor Frankl e fantástica, algo que vale a pena conhecer e pratica. O que está no centro e facilmente acessível pela internet (livros, vídeos), ir ou não depende de quanto tempo tem na cidade.
