Pour Camp Tamok : Très décevant. Manque d authenticité. Usine à touristes. Pas de prestations prévues en cas d annulation des sorties aurores boréales, il est conseillé d éviter d arriver avant l heure, logement sur place ok mais ne donne aucun avantage au moment des sorties il faut attendre des hordes de bus de touristes avant les excursions motoneige ou chiens de traîneau. Hôtel de glace à proximité est une arnaque financière, payé 50€ la visite (au lieu de 55€) pour 10 mn avant la fermeture au public.

Went on superjeep deep into thick snow to hunt the northern lights. And we found them!! There was a photographer taking special pictures with long exposure so you can have a picture of yourself with the lights. I recommend not wearing only black! Because the camera light will catch bright colours. I was wearing black and in the picture I’m basically a floating head, while my daughter who wore a while coat is clearly visible.
At the end there was a lovely surprise of hot chocolate and biscuits and some Icelandic vodka.

Incroyable! Nous avons fait l’activité en chien de traîneau, le dogsledding, pour la matinée et c’était fou! Nous attendions cette activité avec impatience et nous n’avons pas été déçu!
Après un trajet en bus nous arrivons sur le camp, et nous sommes équipés avec des combinaisons, chaussures et des moufles avant d’avoir les instructions pour la suite.
Nous partons ensuite pour la balade et le moment magique commence: nous sommes entourés de paysages enneigés, dans le calme, avec seulement les chiens qui court ! Nous sommes en binômes et durant le trajet nous pouvons échanger de rôles (un sur le traîneau, et un qui gère les chiens pour les arrêter et les faire freiner si besoin). Malgré le froid (-21°C!) nous avons passés un moment exceptionnel qui, je pense, restera gravé à vie. Nous sommes pris en photo durant la balade, nous pouvons avoir nos téléphones (attention quand on enlève les gants, le froid nous rattrape vite!) et nous avons largement le temps de profiter, nous sommes restés une heure sur le traîneau que nous n’avons pas vu passer. Nous pouvons passer un peu de temps avec les chiens en arrivant, puis on enlève l’équipement et nous avons le droit à une boisson chaude et un muffin dans une salle pour se réchauffer.
Je recommande absolument cette activité de déroulé dans un cadre époustouflant entouré de chiens les plus adorables les uns que les autres !

Unser weiblicher Guide hat uns super begleitet und ist mit uns immer wieder Laufabschnitte gegangen, die ohne jegliche Spuren im Tiefschnee waren. Sie hat die leider – viel zu kurze Tour – gut begleitet und uns ebenso Tierspuren im Schnee erklärt, wie auch an schöne landschaftlich tolle Aussichtspunkte geführt. Die Schneeschuhtour war wie gesagt, viel zu kurz (1 ½ Stunden maximal) und dafür relativ teuer.

The Aurora Dinner Cruise around the Tromso island is NOT for aurora lovers as the boat constanly circles the Tromso island, which is incredibly bright. And first rule of seeing the aurora is to be far away from any source of light.
And yes, I understand that the staff cannot control the weather, it was partially cloudy and a KP index of 4 (sun activity). So the conditions of seeing the aurora were good. We saw it twice before under the same conditions, and it was splendid. So I do not mind not seeing it then, but I do mind false advertisement.
On the other hand the staff was amazing (very kind and friendly), and the boat was majestic by all means.
We also had a husky trip with the Arctic Travel Company and it was incredibly fun and knowledgebale as you can ask a lot of questions about the huskys. And again, the staff is just so friendly!

Wir sind mit dem Bus von Tromsø in Richtung Camp losgefahren und nach ca. einer Stunde waren wir an der ersten Stelle, wo wir
Lichter sehen konnten. Dann ging es nach dem Fotostopp weiter zum Basecamp. Dort stand ein großes Sami-Zelt in dem ein Feuer gemacht wurde, damit man sich zwischendurch mal aufwärmen konnte, was Warmes trinken und einen leckeren Eintopf essen konnte. Die Guides waren super nett und hilfsbereit (beim Einstellen der Kamera oder Bereitstellen eines Stativs) Wir haben dort sehr viel Glück mit den Nordlichtern gehabt und tolle Bilder geschossen. Die Tour hat pro Person ca. 95€ gekostet. Hat sich aber auf jeden Fall gelohnt.

Certainly a highlight of our days in Tromsö was the husky sledding in the Lyngser alps. Already the bus drive from Tromsö to the husky camp was amazing – blue sky and the beautiful snowy landscape – it looked like a drawing.
Before starting the sledding we were dressed in polaroveralls, woolen socks, winterboots and 2 pair of gloves which was all very much needed as the temperature there was around minus 20 degrees compared to minus 2 degrees in Tromsö. We were a group of 4 sledges including Paola. As we were a group of three persons (my daughters and myself) I was the lucky one to share the sledge with our guide Paola (coming from Germany, so we have had a very nice and interesting conversation on the tour hearing a lot of working on a dog station). .
The sledding through the beautiful landscape was amazing – the sledging itself took around 90 minutes for the tour, so that every person could drive the sledge approximately 45 minutes. The huskies were all very keen to start the tour which was why the cuddling of the dogs was scheduled for after the tour. But then we had plenty of time to spend with the dogs, take pictures and thank them for the amazing job they did while taking us through this breathtaking environment.
This was a perfect tour – enough polaroveralls, shoes, socks and gloves in a very good condition for everyone, with Paola a very enthusiastic guide, very motivated dogs who loved to start for a tour, a beautiful landscape – 3 times more than 5 stars from all of us, we can really recommend this tour. Thank you to Paola and the lovely dogs for this great experience.

Absolutely amazing tour with Artic Travel Company. Our guide Matteo was super charismatic and friendly and gave great tips on taking good photos of the lights. Equipment was provided and the crew knew exactly where to take us to get the best views. The lights themselves were incredible; we really lucked out with the weather. The small size of the group made the chase even more fun as we all got to know each other around the fire in the lavvu. We've travelled a lot before but this was a truly once in a lifetime experience and we'll never forget it!

I had a great experience with ATC while in Tromso in January. 22 hours of darkness and crisp cold nights allowed us to chase and catch the northern lights. The guides we had were professional, fun and really enjoyed photography. They worked with me to get my S10 set up so I could take really nice photos of the lights as well. Then we all did photoshoots with the lights before settling into the campfire and hot chocolate.
Because the northern lights tour worked out so well with them, I also joined their whale watching tour. We were close, but not as close as you would be with the rubber boats. However, the cruise to 70* North had beautiful scenery. It was a even split 2hrs to the whales, about 2hrs with them, 2hrs return. Again we were lucky to have a great guide, fresh coffee and tea and clear weather to see the orcas and humpbacks.
