Was at the lake to have a sit down with my baby and the grandmom when the man who manages it came screaming that we werent allowed in because it was members only. It was quite upsetting as we were only two women and a baby in my arms. I apologized and said I did not know but he kept raising his voice at us. It was a terrible experience. Even if he didnt scream at us, he would have gotten the message across. I believe it was racially inclined his behaviour towards us as we were Asians. Apart from that, to scream at a woman and her babe, I think every man on earth would not dare unless they haven't been raised well. It was an awful experience and my son was distressed after this.

Visited here with my partner and daughters age 9 and 12. The lake is the only good thing about it here. There is no circular walk, no trails to follow. We spent about an hour and a half here which was too long really because we had to double back in ourselves to get back to the car. There is a building site on the other side of the lake which is unattractive to look at. Parking was free luckily. It is essentially a lake and some fields and so not really a country park but ok for walking a dog - there are other much better places in East Kent to visit instead. Go to Shorne Country Park or Leybourne Lakes Country Park (for example) instead.

nice views and teeming with british wildlife, makes a rather pleasant afternoon's stroll with the family. recent development of the neighbouring housing estate however has transformed part of the walk into a building site! i also have had sailing lessons up here and it makes good entertainment.

This was somewhere new for us .We parked the car and made our way towards the lakes .It looked like the scouts and cubs HD had a morning of fun they were just putting away there canoes etc and enjoying their picnic .It was a nice walk but to make It a circular walk you have to go across the railway line and fields to main road ..the last 10 ,/15 mins being not as peaceful as the rest But we still enjoyed it and will return .

A lovely walk round the lakes here. You park in with the Julie Rose Stadium.
Walk passed the track and down to the lakes. It’s peaceful and tranquil and a beautiful walk around.
Unfortunately now due to a new housing development you can not to a circular walk. So after about 1.5 miles you have to back track.
There is a path that leads to Wye, and one across the railway line that would lead you to the main road.

We spent about 30 mins here .. walked down to lake and then onto next gate where it became too muddy. There is a nice wee memorial tree for the Magna Carter .. for us that was about it.

Me and some friends were just walking round the lake when a fisherman started shouting at us telling us the lake is for fishing only when it clearly is not.

Peaceful surroundings - calm atmosphere. Great place to relax and wander around the lakes. It's a shame that a building development on the far side spoils the view..

Visited today for a picnic and dog walk. Easy to get to, parking available although we walked. Few picnic benches available but I imagine hard to come by in summer. Lovely view over the lake and then walk around it . You can take dogs but there is lots of signs asking to keep them on the lead. Will visit again soon

For a pleasant walk this is a good place to spend an hour. Yes, its in the countryside (just!), and is therefore generally quiet most of the time. I`ve yet to find a route all around the lake though but i`ve no doubt there must be one. Not much point in covering your tracks returning to the car park! I am led to believe that the place is Council run, (i may be corrected here), and if so, i find it extremely dissapointing that the fishing isn`t open to all via a `Day Ticket` or `Season Ticket` arrangement. Instead, it seems that a large fishing organisation have the monopoly over the fishing rights which is quite simply, wrong, and the fishing tickets are extremely highly priced as a result. What a shame for local anglers who cannot afford hundreds of pounds a year to fish a venue in a public park. So, a Country Park? I think thats stretching the imagination a bit, other than for a walk it is hardly worth a visit. Its more of a walk around a lake through some fields! A real opportunity lost i feel, and to make matters worse, a large new housing development is currently being build adjacent to it!!
