Stayed for one night on the closing weekend, we found the location and surroundings genuinely stunning. plenty of space between tents and friendly neighbours. Clearly a lot to keep children entertained.
After spending the evening on the private beach (which we'd recommend swimming shoes for) we headed for dinner. The food at Bramley's Barn was outstanding, locally sourced produce in a unique atmosphere with friendly service. Fresh Sausage baps and coffee were on offer at the food stalls in the morning too.

We had a good weekend at Eweleaze, there are a lot of facilities and things to eat and drink. The only really issue was every stall was massively over subscribed so the queues were massive. This deterred me spending money as i frankly couldnt be bothered to wait for 30 mins for a coffee or to order food. Some extra staff are needed.

First time at this site. Was busy but it is August so did expect this. The food area was good. The pork and stuffing rolls were amazing and the kids loved the crepe stall.
The showers were fine. Barely had to wait for one. The toilets... well the flushable ones were ok but a little walk to them. The single one in the field for lots of people was disgusting could smell it walking up to it. Eye watering smell! Could do with few more and was told previous years had woodchip that I think would of helped. When they are cleaned it does smell.
The site has a nice costal walk to Bowleaze cove which was lovely.
I think the site has a good friendly vibe. Would come again in the hope they take all these toilet comments on board.

We’ve only missed one year in the last 9 so it’s safe to say we are big fans of Eweleaze.
I’m not surprised to see a few negative reviews as something was “off” this year, has there been a change in management staff? It usually feels very organised but it all felt a bit messy this year. Certainly less visible staff (I only saw the hay bale men once during a 4 day visit). Less staff walking around tidying etc. I wonder if they have a new stock control person because we arrived on the 19th and they were sold of lots of stuff. The shop felt half empty, the coffee shop had no syrups, the crepe stall barely had anything left - staff response was just that they were “waiting for a delivery” and “it’s the end of the season” (not sure the 19th is the end of the season? Plus we go at the same time every year and have never had this issue.
Yes the toilets were not great this year, they’ve got rid of the wood chip which clearly hasn’t worked out well! I’ve never minded them before but it was noticeably bad this year.
Turkish bath - please for the love of god ban unsupervised children!! They make it hellish. Poor dog had been dragged in there by one group of kids!
For the good side - lovely welcome at the gate, tidy, no rubbish, food is very good value (anyone who thinks it is expensive needs to take a trip to Durdle door and see how much the food stalls charge their captive audience!). Eweleaze is all about the people you are with, the location and the feel. None of which has changed for us, we will be back as usual next year !

Have been staying at Eweleaze for many years, but will not be returning again - ever! The toilets are the worst, experience imaginable! This year the toilets were steaming cesspits, heaving masses of bodily waste. Stinking and scary for children staring into the abyss! Many seats were broken needing manhandling into position to sit on. The stench was everywhere and worst when they were emptied. Loo roll was constantly running out!
The standards of hygiene sadly was no better in the catering area. Staff not wearing gloves to handle fruit, salad etc. The sponges looked like they’d been used last year, or had been used to clean the staff’s muddy boots!
Bedding in Bell Tents was mouldy! I declined 2 mouldy pillows but gave up when I realised the mattress was just as bad!
Very little site management during muddy conditions. Sinks for washing up were dirty on arrival and full of cobwebs. It appeared that no preparation had been done for the start of the season! They have an ice block exchange service, but you hand in your clean ones and receive the dirtiest ice blocks in exchange. You’d need to wash them before dropping them into a cool box with your food.
After many years - I have to say, never again!

ECO-Toilets = NO.
A wonderful place to take the family. Plenty for the kids to do, lovely food places reasonably priced. Views from upper beach were incredible.
The one thing that absolutely overshadowed all of the above was the Eco Toilets. Essential a wooden shed from the outside. Looks like a toilet. Lift up the seat and it’s a large cess pit.
You can see everybody else’s poo. When you wee it obviously stirs the fumes and it’s simply shocking. You also get occasional wafts around the site. I’m not fussy with toilets but these were rank.
There are normal toilets but a bit further away dotted around.
If this was somebodies great idea to help the planet… do us all a favour and change something else like selling booze in glass bottles.
Otherwise probably a perfect place to go camping with the kids. Even with everything else that’s good, I would swap it all for a conventional toilet.

Just back from 4 nights at Eweleaze and wanted to leave a review after reading some of the more negative ones before we went.
The site is very large, and therefore very busy, we stayed in East field and managed to get a spot at the top of the hill which was quite flat. It was quite noisy in the evenings but nothing more than the sounds of families having a nice time and it was all quiet by at least 11. The first night we were there was the busiest (Saturday) and by Tuesday there were some large groups of older teens there (no issues whatsoever with noise!) there was some music some nights but it never lasted long.
I agree with other reviews that say it has a festival vibe, I think it’s really nice. There are LOTS of kids, some of whom are left to their own devices but we only had one issue with trying to use the Turkish bath and it was basically full of 7/8 year old throwing water at each other - so we left. The hot sauna was lovely though!
I don’t agree with other reviews stating the food was expensive - I was genuinely surprised by how reasonable it was (£5 for a wood fired pizza, £5 a pint, £1.80 fresh croissant) however, I live in a large city so probably used to higher prices. I just think that could have easily charged more for items and people would pay because they have to, and they choose not to do that. They’re also very friendly and chilled, I love that you can come and go at whatever time, the pitches are unallocated which can mean you’re right up against people but we were fine.
The toilets…yes, they do smell, yes, when they come and empty them you DO NOT want to be downwind 😅. However, there was always toilet roll and hand sanitiser - and our field had 2 flushing toilets which were great. The showers are also hot and have good water pressure.
The beach is great, the views are FANTASTIC and there are loads of lovely things to do locally. Would absolutely come back. Ultimately, if you’re looking for a relaxed, quiet camping experience this is not the place for you. If you have kids and are looking for something with more of a lively vibe but the ability to find some beautiful nature and a gorgeous beach then you’ll love it.

This was my first camping experience as an adult, travelling with 8yo and 12yo to meet friends.
I found Eweleaze charming and well run. The compost toilets were emptied regularly, and there were several blocks of flushing toilets. it was an ideal site for camping in groups as there is plenty of space and no allocated sites.
The children entertained themselves with hay bails and petting the animals or finding fossils along the beach.
The only caution for first timers to consider is that the beach is not the most comfortable. The waves were choppy when we were there and the rocky beach meant some children got a bit bashed trying to get out of the sea. Also the water is deep so better for swimming than paddling. There are lovely beaches a short drive away.
Coming from London I found the food offering affordable with some veggie options so we didn’t cook every night. The bakery and organic chips were fab

Fun, relaxed vibe. More like a mini festival. Lots of activities on the farm and around for kids. Children seem to run ferral whilst here which is actually really nice. Great pontoon in the ocean which you can swim out to. Things to consider when staying. This campsite is massive and there's no restriction on pitch size. Consequently you get a lot of groups camping, which means it's a noisy place. We've stayed here 4 times. This was the first year we stayed in a luxury bell tent in beach field. Tent was great, location good and nice to try the flat area of the farm. Loved being able to pack up in 5 mins when time to leave. Downsides. A flat field equals mega busy. I do like the unrestricted pitches here but when others pitch their tent on top of yours it's a bit much, especially when you've paid a fair bit for a bell tent. We couldn't walk by our tent without stepping over ropes. Food options are really good, although pricey. Queues for coffee are insane. 20 mins at least. I think they need more than one coffee station. Showers are good. Toilets revolting. You'll enjoy the beach more if you take chairs down as it's a pebbled beach. Not shingle but large beach pebbles. Agony to walk on and uncomfortable for laying on. I do think the farm could make money going down to the beach on sunny days selling drinks. Its a long walk back up. Good fun for a couple of days though.

I was unsure of what to expect having read some of the reviews, but it seems I stayed at a completely different place to the negative reviewers. My first time here, with our young family and a few friends. The site is amazing and the view is worth the stay. We camped in the Beach Field and had a nice spot in the centre. We didn't hear any music and didn't see any large groups of youngsters, with no trouble or issues. We barely saw any dogs and those that we did were all controlled and on leads. It definitely wasn't over-crowded during our four days there.
The food village is nice and reasonably priced. Around £5 for a jacket potato and some fillings, burgers and kebabs for around a tenner, pizzas from £5. I'm not sure what people expect? The bar in the marquee is cheaper than most pubs. The food shop is pricey but you don't have to shop there. If it is that bad just nip down to the Spar or Co-op two minutes down the road.
The toilets were never as bad as the other reviews suggested. Yes, they can smell, but this isn't always the case, as they were always stocked with toilet roll and always looked quite clean.
We came home wishing we could go back, so don't let the negative reviews put you off - I'm sure for every one negative review there are numerous happy people.

Depends where you decide to pitch. There are two types of fields, one where cars are allowed and another where they are not. The choice then is yours.

There is the Flat Field which is less hilly than the rest but it is also the most full and noisiest.

Price per night for camping please? I've looked on Eweleaze website but I can't find a simple price list for just camping just the booking area. We have our own belltent, 2 adults 1 child. Thank you.

Which is the best field to pitch up in please in your opinion. I have a child who will want to be near the hay bale or somewhere to play and socialise so id like to be close to that so i can let her go but be in watching distance?

We've just come back from their. We arrived at 9am on Friday and there was a lot of space. It wasn't ever rammed. You can choose where ever you like. Just don't go behind the shower blocks haha the water runs all the way down. You can arrive anytime you like and leave anytime you like on check out day
