This 18th-century palace, located 32 kilometers from Bharatpur, was once a summer retreat for kings of that time.
Its architecture is a fascinating mix of Rajput influences with touches of Mughal style. Built from beautiful pink sandstone, the palace boasts gorgeous gardens and water fountains. The palace even houses three museums showcasing the treasures used by the kings and queens of Bharatpur.

We preferred to visit this palace of historical importance from Mathura. We were very much delighted to see the palace and well maintained garden with hardly a few tourist present there. The typical building pattern with waterbody and royal amphitheater were simply breathtaking.A must visit place in Rajasthan from Mathura.

I had heard a lot of Deeg Palace and had decided to visit while on Bharatpur trip. However, after visiting, I found that it could have been easily skipped for some other better places.
The architecture is good, no doubt. But, it is poorly maintained. The state which has so many beautiful palaces could have paid a bit more attention to this one as well and it would have turned into an amazing attraction.

The Deeg palace was really nice. Large grounds, garden impart beauty to the place. The palace has lot of history and is very interesting. One can have a glimpse of the way rulers lived in that era. Could have been maintained better to attract more tourists.

Not a far from Agra (2 hors drive) this it a worth visit after being tired of Taj Mahal and Agra Fort with its crowds...
Deeg Palace is a very nice set of buildings and garden/park that you can easily visit inside the palace that has been used by the Maharana family until very recently.

The palace was awesome. Huge grounds, nice fountains..for the first timers, please carry your refreshments,as nearby no good eatery.
Needs more attention in terms of clean eating place for outsiders who come from far off places.

I visited today the jalmahal . Lot of renovation work is going massively . Did not find expected rush . Went with great expectation , but felt like leaving after half an hour.
But otherwise, it is an great historical place with the memories of the great warrior kings of Rajasthan, known for bravery, courage, with water reservoirs around . Adjacent is the fort ,which i did not visit.

Will it b open on sun or holi 12th or 13th mar 2017??
Skrevet 7. mars 2017
The palace is open throughout the year. It's the museum that has got sone timings. Holi will definitely be a holiday for museum staff as this comes under Archaeological department of India.

I apologize, do not recollect the exact direction and sequence, I guess Mr.Neel has described in detail is correct. Best would be to visit and experience the same. Good luck and take care.
