Wonderful place. Very interesting. Lots of history and fabulous features.
Free parking.
No nuns there anymore.
Small shop to buy donated goods to help support the upkeep of the place. Homemade jams and marmalade for sale in cafė.
Lovely lunch in their cafė. Weather permitting you can sit in the pretty garden and eat too.
Dogs not allowed inside the cafė.
Volunteers to help in the garden & other areas are very much appreciated.

Called in when passing after a busy day walking and exploring Steephill Cove and needing a cake fix 😀. Met by a lovely lady volunteer who was very welcoming. We walked around the garden with our little dog and then sat in the sun with some hot tea and delicious cake. A small selection of home produce and books also on sale.

Wonderful hospitality and homegrown produce to buy, we had an excellent coffee and cake, enjoyable walk in the ground and perused the shop.

We fell across the tea room by accident when walking the dog.
Our lunch (cheese and ham quiche and egg mayonnaise sandwich with salad, coleslaw etc) was excellent. The price was very reasonable, the service friendly and efficient and the walled garden where we sat in the sun is a quiet haven.

What a little gem! So nice to have a rest and a cup of coffee in a lovely priory gardens. Very cheap but nice teas, coffees and cakes. Everything is a little old-fashioned but it's so appropriate in the priory. But it's cash only place, so please be aware.

We found this completely by accident avoiding the Newport traffic and saw the signs saying it was open. It’s a home formally occupied by Dominican nuns and a wonderful record of times past. We spent a couple of hours wandering around the house and gardens and then visited the cafe which was good value and had a nice range of food. The cafe is Clearly a popular venue and could easily be incorporated into a walk. It’s open Tuesday Wednesday and Friday.
There is an art studio and small pottery on site.

What a shame to be greeted by a very officious woman who clearly did not want any business in the cafe! On arriving with a small group of walkers 45 mins before closure we were greeted with a demand to speak to our leader- we had the audacity to arrive without telephoning ahead! The cafe had 45 mins left before closure, lots of (delicious) cakes, but clearly no desire for customers! I won’t be returning!

Very welcoming helpful staff who are all volunteers. We had our dog with us and were able to sit at a table just outside of the main cafe area which was nice. Delicious food Very reasonably priced as were the drinks. Will definitely be coming back soon!

What do you find in a former convent... answer a lovely cafe... a large garden complete with nuns burial ground... and a few places for moments of quietude. Only issue we had is that the Coventry has chapel but that can only be seen when services take place.

Plenty of locals using the cafe and the quality of the food was excellent ... prices were great too.

We live close to this priory and had talked about popping in for some time.
Well, we have now been a few times and highly recommend it !
The surroundings are interesting and unusual (it is a priory after all) the staff are lovely and the food is excellent.
The fare on offer is good old fashioned comfort food with an emphasis on home baking. On offer are a selection of sandwiches and cakes plus a lovely homemade soup.
Prices are very reasonable too.
In the summer months and on warmer winter days there is a lovely garden to the rear of the priory set out with a few tables and chairs.
On our most recent visit we enjoyed coffee, homemade green vegetable soup with quality chunky seeded bread followed by two very large pieces of bread pudding.
What's not to like, so pop in and enjoy the peaceful, friendly atmosphere of this lovely place.
