Caves can be scary - dark, wet, with bats, surprised... But this one is easy but can be difficult depending on how far you want to go - as a beginner, intermediate or advanced. Be prepared to get wet, the mini waterfall inside the cave is so delightful and inviting. The guide will make sure you are safe and understand our role in protecting this wonderFul secret of Cavinti. A real bonus is the refreshing bathe on the river and free natural massage from the current.

Way better alternative to seeing the Cavinti (Pagsanjan) Falls. Take this adventurous climb down with some brief rapelling... and then take the boat ride going to Cavinti trading outpost.

nice place for caving.......hard to find its location though....the balsa ride is so short...the cave trek is somewhat short too.....not wow

If you are looking for some adventure tjat is near in Manila, you should not miss checking out Cavinti Underground River and Caves Complex in Cavinti, Laguna.
The caves complex offers cave chambers that are friendly to explore even for beginners as well as challenging ones for the more advanced cave explorers.
You should try it this summer though it is best to explore the area during the months of Janyary to February for a more challenging experience.
The off road trail going to the cave is a bit challenging for those who are not used to outdoor activities but a welcome experience for the more adventurous ones.
You should prepare your own food going there and it ia recommended to make arrangements prior your visit.
It is recommended to avail of the 4x4 rides being offered by suppliers commissioned by the LGU that to risk your vehicle going to the cave.
The experience is worth exploring!

This is recommended for those who haven't experienced caving before. Navigating inside the cave is quite easy if you follow your guide's instructions. Guides only bring flashlights unlike kerosene lamps of other cave attraction so you could not appreciate the full stalactites/stalagmites formation inside.

Cavinti Cave and Underground river complex is for the highly adventurous people. We did all 3 chambers including spelunking. We are the 15th group to do this since the cave complex opened to public. Not everyone are allowed to go to all 3 chambers (normally guests can only visit the 2 chambers). A lot of crawling to tight spaces, due to physical limitations not everyone are fit to do this. We treasure the experience it was both physically challenging and awe inspiring to see the stalactites and stalagmites. The water is cold too.
If you are squeamish don't attempt to do caving. It is not easy to get there and I tell you the road is only good and safe during summer. Do not attempt to go there on a rainy season.
I went there with my friends and my 2 teenage daughters. Kids below 13 are not allowed.
Travel to Cavinti:
The travel to Cavinti is approximately 3 hours. You can take a bus to Sta Cruz Laguna (Fare approximately P140.00) and Take a Jeepney to Cavinti (Fare P25.00). Or you can drive straight to Cavinti, Laguna. You should proceed to Bumbungan Eco Park, this is where Tours are booked and the take-off point to the cave.From Sta Cruz, tell the Driver to drop you off at junction going to Bumbungan Ecopark. Landmark- there is a cemetery at the Junction which is on your left. The ecopark is just a short walk from the junction or you can take a trycle for P10.00 each.
Book your tour ahead of time. You can call them at 0998-394-5609, 0915-823-4535,049-523-0012.
There are limited tours in a day. Cut-off of tour is 12noon, You can also visit their FB page below.
Tour Fees:
Caving Fee P500.00 per person ( for Foreigners P1,000.00)
Tour Guide: P400.00 per group
Transpo: P2,500.00 good for 6-8 people. you will be passing unpaved roads (muddy during rainy season). Long and winding roads- literally. Travel time to the cave 1.5 to 2hrs. Your vehicle are not allowed unless you are driving a 4x4.

Comparing it to Sagada - I enjoyed the spelunking here at Cavinti than Sagada. Cavinti is way more physically challenging for me than Sagada considering I did all 3 chambers in Cavinti. Imagine crawling on a tunnel approximately 2 feet high with cold water. If you will do all 3 chambers you will totally be wet.
Cavinti is not comparable to the underground river in Palawan, in Palawan you are only confided on a boat.
It took us 3.5 hours including photo ops.
I will do it again :)

Another hidden treasure of Laguna. It's quite slippery and dark inside the cave so be very careful and as much as possible wear aqua shoes or sandals (avoid slippers). Waterfalls can be found inside and it's perfect to indulge in its cool water after the long journey...
