We were booked for a boat tour with Captain Mike and unfortunately Mike had to have surgery and thus our tour was cancelled. These things cannot be helped and we totally understand the situation. Captain Mike went to a huge amount of trouble to refund our deposit. (It was troublesome due to the length of time since our original payment & also the bank system in Australia is different to Europe ). We really appreciated the effort he went to (even though the poor man had just been through surgery) to refund our deposit!! Highly recommend booking this tour as it would’ve been absolutely fabulous!!! Thanks Captain Mike for your professionalism, persistence and also keeping us updated with what was happening!!! If we get to this gorgeous part of the world again we would book this boat tour for sure!!!

What an incredible day at sea with Captain Mike and his first mate Noel! Everything from our introduction to our farewell was like going sailing with lifelong friends. Croissants to start the morning, cold beverages during the trip and a wonderful light lunch. Mike and Noel kept us informed on the surroundings and the local history. The wind didn't always cooperate but had no impact on our trip.

Where we anchored for lunch was an amazing area along the coast. This was the end of our vacation and the perfect way to end it. Glad we didn't do this first on our trip or expectations for other excursions would've had the bar set very, very high!

Wishing Captain Mike the best on his upcoming surgery and first mate Noel on his new home construction! Was a true pleasure talking with you both about everything from scuba diving to making olive oil. :)

Amazing day at sea

Mike is amazing! We had the most memorable day out at sea. He was super flexible and let us pick what we wanted to do. The aperol spritz were so good and the lunch was our favorite lunch we had our whole trip. We will definitely be back!

Amazing Day at Sea

This sailing day was the highlight of our Italian vacation. Captain Mike was a pleasure to sail with and took us to many beautiful locations. The food was also great.

I would recommend this trip to anyone considering visiting this area of Italy.

Perfect Sailing Day!
Perfect sailing day! We had a great day sailing with Capt. Mike with our family of 6 (adult children). Mike is friendly and laid back, and a native english speaker so it was easy to converse and hear his story. He is truly living the dream - and we lived vicariously today! The day started with an easy meet up at the train station followed by pastries on the boat. We drove the boat to a quiet inlet for a swim - which was refreshing despite the swells. After swimming we were under sail back to calmer waters in the Sestri Lavante Bay of Silence - it was a gorgeous setting for a relaxing lunch of cold cuts, fruit and focaccia- and generous amounts of aperol spritz! After another quick swim we headed back to Lavagne and caught sight of a pod of dolphins to complete the perfect sailing day trifecta (under sail, clean plates, and dolphins!). It was a beautiful day and we loved experiencing this incredible coastline from the perspective of the water. Mike was a gracious host and we look forward to sailing with him again when we revisit the area. Don’t miss your chance to experience a once in a lifetime sail!

Perfect day at sea
Caio! We had the very best day with Captain Mike! My husband and I are on a trip for our 25th anniversary. Sailing is a passion of my husband’s and we spent the day with Captain Mike! The boat was beautiful, service was incredible, lunch was perfecto!!! We loved the visit and the sailing was amazing!! Grazie for a wonderful memory!

Our day with Michael on his boat was absolutely fantastic. He’s such an amazing host (pastries in the morning, lunch, and fresh fruit). He had such great insight in the area and we loved hearing his story! The water was so perfect and he even let us take the wheel for a little on the way back. Such a once in a lifetime experience.

Perfect Portofino Sailing Day

Sailing with Mike was one of the highlights of our trip! He is a hospitable host, expert captain, and all-around great guy. As he’ll tell you, Mother Nature dictates feasibility of itineraries, but we lucked out and had a perfect day sailing to San Fruttoso and around Portofino. For breakfast and lunch, we enjoyed filling spreads that Mike picked up fresh from local markets before our trip. And he had plenty of Aperol spritzes and wine to wash it all down! If you’re here trying to find a private excursion on the water in the Riviera, look no further and book now. Set Sail Tours is it!

Mike was absolutely amazing! The views are incredible and Mike made sure that we had the best time ever! If you are in Italy, you must make the trip and do this tour.

Great Trip

Weather wasn't the best and we were forced to head back to marina. However, Mike was very welcoming and accommodating and made the trip a great experience. Drinks and food were great. I will be attempting to sail again with Mike when I return.
