Beautiful Manor and gardens, run well by The national Trust, as always. A real mix of architecture developed over the years by different owners. Dark on entry as the massive collection of furniture and quirky artefact’s from around the world are protected from damage by day light. The guides use torches to explain in depth the exhibits.
The gardens are breathtaking if lucky enough for the sun to shine.

Visited yesterday. The staff were exceptional in my opinion. Highly knowledgeable and all extremely enthusiastic. Really made our visit to this memorable property a superb event. Will remember it for a long time to come I think.

Not like most national trust houses , rooms are not set out as beautifully furnished because that’s not how this house was lived in , instead it is full of amazing collections of things, the guides were really keen to share stories and clearly love the place. I think you could go back again & again and keep seeing different things . Nice cafe with plenty of seating and small but pretty garden

Fascinating. This is a surprising and beautiful manor. The walk to the house is uphill and down - anyone with mobility issues might need help.
We needed urgent assistance and staff were superb.

The house was a magical box of surprises not to be missed. Grounds delightful. Allow at least 2 1/2 hours. Excellent cafe and facilities.

Thank you Snowshill!

I just want to mention the help available to those with mobility issues. There is a by donation large golf-cart to get them from the car park to the house or a paved pathway if a ten minute walk is feasible. If people can’t go up to the other floors in the house, there is a tablet to view photos of what is up there. The gardens are very multi-level but I could see parts of them.

Snowshill Manor house is filled with one man's eclectic collection. A fascinating way to spend an hour or two on a wet afternoon. However, on an unseasonal, summer day in October the Arts and Crafts garden with its terraces, benches, and herbaceous borders was more appealing. Then there was the wild orchard stocked with a dozen or more local variety of apple trees; bows, bending and straining under the weight of the crop.
Then to complete the treat, a lovely tearoom set in its own sun and shade filled garden. Simple thoughtful fare on the menu,.. dairy free scones and vegan flapjacks alongside the regular cakes and goodies and best of all, wonderful women who made the experience feel so homely, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you!

I am not normally a big fan of National Trust but had a voucher from a national news paper for free entry for adults and kids. So since we had our grand children staying over we decided to pay a visit to Snowshill, since it’s on our doorstep. It was a really wet day when we went to after sorting out the entrance details we made our way straight to the house. Bit of a walk but the kids loved seeing somewhere different.
We weren’t sure if the house and contents was going to be their thing. But it is stuffed with all sorts of amazing things. Both historical and models made by Charles Wade were mind blowing. From ships to swords to Samurai. There were items marked that children can pick up and examine. The kids 8 and 4 had a great time. Also there was a place where the kids could dress up in olde world clothes. So in spite of the rain we went to the cafe. The staff there were nice and the cafe was welcoming. Also a mention must go to the staff and volunteers in the main house who told us loads of information about everything that was in each room.
Because of the rain we didn’t see much of the gardens.

Lovely group visit to this property - helpful staff especially Meliza in the office!!
Lots to see though be aware it has lots of steps both inside and out so one disabled member of our group was unable to get to the garden .
But cafe and toilets all clean and accessible and staff in the house itself very interesting to listen to. Loved the dressing up room!

Could not park no one sorting the car park almost had a car back into my car trying to turn round , eventually gave up totally waisted visit and unneeded travel, what’s the point in having national trust membership if you can’t use it will be thinking about cancelling as no use. Your car park is a shambles and dangerous.

Snowhills was the home of Charles Wade from 1919 to 1951, an eccentric collector of all sorts of things artful and reflecting talented artwork, such as Chinese cupboards, Japanese Samurai costumes, sedan chairs, ship models, old bicycles, grandfather clocks, etc… The house was packed, and we had some interesting chats with some of the docents. Charles Wade was a fortuned architect, artist and poet. The gardens were largely terraced and included a large dovecote, small model village, orchards, vegetable garden, etc… Very pleasant, and it’s a National Trust property. There's a cafeteria on site.
