My university's study abroad program stayed in Palapas Ventana December 2023 and had an absolute blast! The staff were so kind, accommodating, and extremely fun. We loved Christian, the kitchen staff, and our guides Brodie, Brendon, and Manuel. They all went out of their way to create the best experience for us whether it be snorkeling, swimming with whale sharks, or mountain biking. I could not have asked for a better experience. Baja is beautiful! Thank you so much Palapas Ventana staff, I hope to be back soon.

Whether you just go stay at Palapas Ventana and take a daily excursion with them or go on a week long Liveaboard, you will be guaranteed to have an amazing experience. Palapas Ventana has all the "toys" needed to play in the ocean. They have paddle boards, kayaks, snorkel gear, scuba, fishing, spearfishing, adventures to Cerralvo Island and more. I highly recommend staying with them and if you have an opportunity, sign up for their liveaboard.
Palapas Ventana also teams up with EpicSurfAdventures and does amazing surf trips on the Pacific side. I also highly recommend this adventure!

Palapas Ventana is the absolute best! I’ve done several adventures with them (gray whales, whale sharks, fishing, diving, multi day boat trips, hot dog tours) and every one of them has been top notch. Tim and his staff take care of your every need and are excellent at customizing the experience for you. I can’t recommend Palapas Ventana highly enough. Thanks for everything you do Tim!

We have been to Palapas Ventana to snorkel and scuba dive on many occasions during different times of the year and there is always the opportunity to see something exciting. With every boat trip we feel a sense of adventure because we never know what we might encounter. The Sea of Cortez is still wild and natural. During one of our trips, we saw some mobulas jumping out of the water and when we slipped into the water with our masks and snorkels we were thrilled to see hundreds of mobulas swimming underneath us. On another trip, we came across some pilot whales so we slipped into the water and got some great close encounters as they swam slowly by us. On yet another trip, we came across a humpback whale that breached over and over and over right next to our boat. The whale then lounged near our boat rolling and flapping its pectoral fins. While diving and snorkeling on the reefs we have seen truly massive schools of fish, wide varieties of colorful tropical fish, large round rays, interesting invertebrates and sea lions. There is no guarantee that you will have all the same experiences that we have had because the ocean is dynamic and always changing, but if you go with the attitude of an explorer who is searching for new encounters you will not be disappointed. We have seen something different and exciting on each trip. Be aware that the water clarity and temperatures vary quite a bit throughout the year so you should talk to the Palapas Ventana folks to figure out the best time of year for your interests.

I've been going here since they opened. I've had an amazing time pre-kids, with kids, and beyond. So many incredible things about this place!! There's something for everyone! The most helpful and friendly staff ever. Private, cute casitas with everything you need. A plethora of amazing water activities at any time of the year. Wonderful food and beverages. Fantastic land-based activities and relaxation. You could keep coming back here over and over again and have new adventures every time! I love it immensely!

We split a ten day spearfishing trip, half at Magdalena Bay and half at Palapas Ventana. The experience was incredible. The guides, the captains, the food…everything! For me, the most important aspect of spearfishing is safety and the boat crews (Captain & Guide) are really vigilant in this regard, and I think that says the world about the culture of Palapas Ventana. Thanks to everyone at PV! See you again soon!

I’ve been going to Palapas Ventana with a group of friends for about five years now. The group keeps getting bigger because every new person is instantly hooked.
Each year seems better than the past. Tim and his crew are professionals at getting people to have a great time. The fishing is spectacular, the food is awesome, and the adventures never stop.
Can not recommend this place highly enough.

I spent 10 days based at Palapas Ventana and had an absolute blast. We snorkeled and free dove in clear blue waters with fish, dolphins, and sea lions galore, hiked arroyos, played in boats big and small, ate unbelievably delicious fresh local cuisine (seafood towers are the BEST) and sipped on salty sweet margaritas poolside. The entire experience -- from the friendly people, to the stunning setting, and from to the tasty local food to the simple and clean accommodations -- was top notch. I am planning my first international trip post-pandemic to head right back to PV. Can't wait!

Any activity you choose is sure to please. I have been visiting Palapas Ventana for over 15 years and have enjoyed every season in La Ventana. Swimming with whale sharks, dolphins, whales, pelagic fish, catching your dinner- you name it. The entire staff and crew, especially the captains, are extremely knowledgeable, safe and professional. While days on the boat are always a highlight, the fun continues on shore. Drinking, dining (can't miss a hot dog train - the most local experience ever) and simply soaking up the gorgeous setting round out every day. The addition of the pool and hot tub just elevates everything to the next level. It's impossible not to have a great time at the Best of Baja.

I've stayed at Palapas Ventana countless times over the years, I was married there, and I've worked with Tim to run educational trips for high school students over the last few years as well.
All I can say is it's always Epic! The accommodations, the food, the service, the ocean, the staff - everything is top notch.
