They are actually closed for the season already but because of our group size, they agreed to take our booking, so we essentially had an exclusive private tour for 10 of us, for a fruit tasting cum U-Pick tractor tour where all fruits you pick to bring home is charged at $6 per kg, regardless what fruit. And they've got a huge variety here, the most I've seen at any fruit picking orchard we've been to ever. Imagine despite this being the end of the harvest season, we still managed to try 8-9 different varieties. Limes alone, we tried 4 different types, including the lemonade lime and finger lime.Â
They also do quite abit of hybrid fruits here - the pineapple guava, strawberry guava and lemon guava. Pretty interesting flavours. I tried the Chinese Quince for the first time and no thanks. But I did have an amazing experience with Kumquat.
Great fun here and the kids surely had fun plucking away too.Â

If you want fruit trees its fantastic, they have a vast variety however I went to buy some fresh fruit and there wasn't any !!
The coffee shop is very tired and unappealing.
The drive there is great, winding road amongst the most amazing trees.

The most gorgeous place I have been to by far and I have been to most fruit picking experiences in Victoria. Great friendly staff. The coffee was amazing and so was the freshly picked fruit as well as the sour cherries from the shop. Great atmosphere. Definitely worth visiting with the whole family. Reasonable prices.

After seeing the brochures, I was surprised by the poor state the property is in. The orchards look fine but the cafe has seen better days. Cafe staff friendly & helpful.

Loved loved loved our visit on the weekend to purchase trees for our new orchard. Staff were absolutely amazing, gave great advice, recommendations and took the time to teach us what to do.
We took our 5 kids on the tractor tour, ages 1, 3, 5, 7 & 8... would you believe... they ate all the fruits!! Perfect place to let the kids be free and learn hands on in a very relaxed friendly causal environment, they picked their fruit, ate as much as they could, put on their boots, got their hands dirty and played like kids should!!
Had a fab day out thanks to the amazing team who work here!
Now for our trees to plant at home... grow you good things!!!!

We visited Raynor’s Orchard after reading previous reviews. We had a light lunch followed by scones, jam and cream. It was so delicious that we bought some of the jam to take home. We noticed they also did tractor tours if the farm. The tour was hosted by Cam Rayner who runs the farm with his family. The tour was an absolute highlight if the day. 1 hour of fruit tasting, knowledge absorbing and lots of laughs. Thank you Cam. And thank you to the friendly staff in the shop. Bryan and Jenny

Staff were very friendly and helpful. I was offered in-store an organic apple to taste. They are the sweetest and freshest I've tasted. There was a large range of jams, sauces and chutney. I tasted one and purchased a jar. There was a lot of well priced stone fruit for sale. They also sell large fruit pies. Well worth my time there.

We visited here with our two granddaughters who live nearby. We were interested in a tour of the farm and picking our own fruit. There is an hour tour available on a small train dragged along by a tractor which stops at various sections of the orchard and the driver walks you along between the fruit trees passing on little gems of information and selects fruit for tasting. We were then in most cases allowed to pick our own fruit to take home at the cost of $5 per kilo. You can eat as much as you like walking along and as our granddaughters love fruit they were prepared to try almost everything. At any time of the year there are eight different fruits ready for picking so it really wouldn't matter when you visited. When we returned to the cafe we weighed and paid for our fruit and then we were to have lunch before returning home. The menu is very limited and we couldn't find anything that interested any of us so we chose an ice cream each and then left to go home. So to sum it all up, we would take this tour again, however, my husband and I are seniors and it cost $50+ for entry, not great value for what you get, children were free, and they should have been. I thought with picking the fruit yourself $5 per kilo was too expensive and our ice cream cups we bought at the end of the tour were $8 each, far too expensive for what we got.

Hi Lorraine,
Thanks for your feedback. We are glad that you and the grandkids had a great time and enjoyed your fruit. We take pride in the time that goes into producing such quality in an organic fashion. I am sorry that you felt our tour was too expensive, however these cost are applied to cover expenses including insurance, farm costs and labor. The tour you took at a cost of $55 equates to $13.75pp for the hour long experience. Most farms that offer Upick, you are given 1 variety of fruit and entry is between $10-$15 plus fruit costs. At Rayners you are given the opportunity topic and sample at least 8 different kinds of fruit, and everything that is consumed on the tour is free.
As for the $5.00 per kilo Upick, it costs over $3.00 per kilo to grow each fruit minimum. We grow our fruit organically, therefor it is not mass produced and sold at supermarkets. The food in our cafe we make no apology for. It is simple wholesome farm style food, and all house made. Our Ice Cream is no different, it is handmade with 50% fruit, is vegetarian, and gluten free.

This is not a review I like to post but it’s s
Honest review that I hope people with small children take in account before visiting this orchard!
My children went on a excursion on school program excursion on 6/1/2020 to this orchard.
To a country town I know well, it’s my home town as a child. I was super happy to hear they would experience the county life I once experienced as s child.
They visited this orchard and my son was offered a piece of fruit and he knocked it out the owners hand.
What you don’t know I’d my child has special needs and he isn’t like any other child and he has intellectual disability and while I don’t condone him him throwing fruit to the ground, and knocking it from the owners hand as he didn’t want it, what I dont appreciate and think is appropriate is a owner of a orchard and a man who is a business owner what he did next will leave me and my child feeling upset to the point of crying.
He slapped my son across the face that hard that his glasses fell from his face. It was witnessed from
Other children on the excursion. That were left upset with what they had seen from a 60 year old man.
The owner of this business and a regular tour guide of the business hit my child Across the face! Who is the adult here?
Someone this short fuse should not be working around children of any types. Read reviews and make ur own decisions.
He then told him he was idiotic and continued to abuse him emotionally.
He has refused any police interviews.
Why would you refuse?
I’ll let you decide?
This man is known for short fuse and aggression

The true story is the child punched the fruit from my hand..there was no abuse......I did not call him and idiot and did not abuse him emotionally. I have at no time refused police interviews.
You also need to know that I have been working with children for the last 40 years this is the first time I have been treated with such disrespect. The person in charge should have mentioned that this child had behavioural problems this would have made sure that this problem didn't occur.

You can find a list of fruits in season on the website here. It's technically not Winter yet but I think you will find some winter fruits already now.
It's about 20-30mins from the main Yarra Valley area I think. It's not too far though. Every time I went there, I was staying around Yarra Valley areas.
What fruits can we expect in early august?

There are numerous fruit and various varieties of the same fruit. I would not attempt to name the fruits as there are so many.
Is it approximate to any winery? Also is it more tiring to do Tractor or Foot it to a specific Fruit picking location?

G'day yes there are quite a few wineries close by . The only way you can do the fruit tasting adventure is on the tractor we have found most people are unable to walk the distance. No need to book just wander in when it suits, come hungry as there are a lot of varieties to pick and taste.

May I know what to expect if u visit in June ? Do I need to Prebook the tractor ride ?
Len R

By June we will have some of our Winter fruits ready for sampling, and still plenty of our Autumn fruit at the end of their season. Some of the fruits we are likely to have include Kiwi fruit, Persimmon, guava, pepino, tamarillo, inca berries, dutch medlar and a large range of citrus - lemons, limes, oranges, mandarins, grapefruit, lemonades & more. Fruit Tasting Tractor Tours run all day on demand between 9am - 4pm, no need to book for small groups less than 15 people.

What picking to expect during January end? And what other activities can be expected at what cost
BelAraratAustralia

I'd expect there would be the typical summer fruits, the stone fruits like plum, peaches as well as tomatoes. I 'm not sure what berries they have but I know they have berries. I went during winter and there was a goodly amount so I'd imaging summer they'd be more variety. Drop them an email. I did the tractor ride and did the pick as much fruit as you like thing, I think it was $30, and $5 a kilo for fruit you want to take home.
The tractor ride was great. There's bottling classes available, don't know how often they run but there about $90 which includes 5 jars of fruit if I remember. They also have how to prune your fruit tree classes, but that all I know about them.
They also have a cafe.

What to expect when we visit Raynes Orchard in mid September ?

Well for sure the blossoms would look beautiful in full flower. They have blossom tours even. I'm not sure about which fruit would be ready to pick though, Kiwi is on the vine til then they said. You can also have a go on the cherry picker so you'd see an amazing view not just of the blossoms but the surrounding hills which is rather breathtaking. most websites have a contact us section so you can email them I'd say..
yes, i would like to know the admission fee per pax please? TQ and with that, what kind of tours provided? TQ
