Its an amazing palatial home and takes you back in time ..We were showed around by Andre the grandson and he was so eager to share all information about the history of the place. There are antiques dating many centuries. The Ballroom and those corridors are so enchanting and mesmerizing.

Wonderful experience. The houses visited were from the Portuguese era & well maintained. Every detail worth the visit.

There are 2 wings to the huge house. The left side of the house as you face it is where the brogansa pereira family lives. Currently the 15th generation of the family is living in the house. It was a treat to tour the house. Most of the pieces of art/furniture are from a 400+ years ago.
The owners are very knowledgeable about the artifacts and provide you the right amount of information about artifacts.
Apparently the government doesn’t provide any assistance to maintain this place. It’s a real gem of Goa and needs to be preserved for posterity

The arrogance of the “owner” is something difficult to describe. For earning ₹250 per person which is no different from “begging”, she chooses to talk in her own roughshod mannerless fashion. Best to avoid since there is nothing of value there except dilapidated building spruced up to earn the money. Shameless in every respect the woman even keeps directing everyone to not open their smartphone to take pics as if her ancestors were maharajas!! Completely avoidable. Do not fall for travel agents or tour drivers who suggest this place. Why would you pay ₹250 to face a display of sheer arrogance and nothing else?

Not that impressive.

A huge 17th century Portuguese style mansion filled with antique furniture, relics and historical artifacts. It is known to be more than 400 years old. Breaganza Pereira was representing Goa under the Portuguese government as the vice consul general in Spain. He was gifted the land by the king of Portugal., Don Luiz.

My son found this place on our Bullet ride in South Goa. Built in the 17th century and located in Chandor Village, met Ashley, the 15th generation Braganca who lives in this 450-year-old house. It had seven bedrooms, a small chapel with a relic of St. Francis Xavier and the big ballroom which was my favourite. The artefacts collected by the family over years brings about the old charm. Be ready to pay Rs.150 per person which they use to maintain this historical place.

There is a lot to Goa other than the beaches, and during every trip to Goa, my partner, Aprajita, and I have sought to hit trails that're less trodden, or still 'invisible'. So, during the most recent trip - to detox what has been a difficult, terrible year via the pandemic - we decided to look at south Goa and thereby, choose to look at Chandor, that was pre-Portuguese era, and marked its origins in a way. The highlight of the trip was visiting two heritage houses, from the pre-Portuguese and Portuguese era, as family members in those houses walked us through their family histories, the architectural delights of their homes, the different heirlooms and artefacts, connecting us to the past and linking it to the present.

The House is very beautiful and takes you to another era. The house is divided in two parts, hosted and managed by different individuals. Both are equally beautiful. The Ball Room is the highlight. A must visit place in South Goa
