This is not so much a review of the cave but the whole experience of getting there and access. Whole day tours are offered but are relatively costly and we did not want to loose a whole day. We reached Guangmyeong by subway from central Seoul but then the bus access to the site was long so we took a taxi. This was a 20min ride and the site is quite remote. We’d used most of our cash to get to the site - no problem - everywhere else in Seoul and Busan we’ve had no card issues. Not so here - tickets can only be bought with domestic cards; the two ATM’s also accept domestic cards only. So after trekking all the way to the site we failed to get in and took a card paid Uber back to civilization. The site is not geared up to welcome non Korean tourists.

It's a cave but totally converted to an amusement park. Entrance of the cave is very exciting. Dark, moist and narrow.... no need to panick ... its plain road..... then it's the light magic.... must visit the gold cave .... I recommend to go to underworld of the cave ... tge dragon is really exciting. If people want to get a experience of real cave visit ..... its definitely disappointing.... but if u want yo just want a casual but fun visit .... its a must recommendation..... most of the people skip the sky point because of the height. But if u r healthy and want to have a beautiful view of the city try to climb till the top of the sky view point..... entry free is very economical and for a short visit.... its fun .

I visited Gwangmyeong Cave a few days ago. In general it was nice, with low temperature (lower than outside, which is very useful in the hot summer Korean weather). There are different kinds of lights inside, which look very nice in the darkness.
Still, there are some disadvantages. The first problem is to get there. The nearest Seoul metro station is "Gwangmyeong", but the problem is, the last piece of metro line you need to pass to get there (from "Gumcheong-gu office") is served by trains very rarely, about once in an hour. So I took buses from "Gumcheong-gu office", which took some time and was not very easy (thanks to the passenger on the first bus, 04, who spoke at least some English and told me where to take the next bus, 17 or 77!).
The next problem is, I think, common for a foreigner traveling in Korea: not many people here speak English. Even the staff in the cave (which is supposed to be a touristic place) couldn't understand some of the questions I asked.
Then, I was a bit disappointed about how "human-made" the cave looked inside. The lights look nice, as I said, and a dark location, like a cave, looks appropriate. Still, almost everywhere you walk on a flat surface, and when it is not, there are wooden stairs. I think, a cave experience would be "more truly cave" if the stairs were just rocks that compose the cave interior (maybe with handrails for easier climbing). Then there are some sculptures, metal plates with wishes, and other things that you could see at something like a museum, which could be in any building above the ground as well.
Finally, it looked a bit too regulated for me. You are supposed to walk through the available areas in a specific order only. There are junctions, but the staff asks you, for example, to turn right or left, and you cannot (or not supposed to at least) go straight first. You are allowed to go straight after you return from going right.
Still, this was a good experience in general. Also, above the entrance, there is a hill you can climb and see a nice view at the suburbs of Seoul (but the temperature around you will be hot in the summer, this is outside the cave itself).
For those who want to repeat my way how to get there from "Gumcheong-gu office": to find bus 04, you have to walk a little bit backwards along the metro tracks after you exit the metro at "Gumcheong-gu office" (backwards - if you go from somewhere near Seoul center). And to change to bus 17 or 77, you have to stay on 04 until the terminus, then continue on the same street until you cross a large street with many buses. Turn left into this large street (and cross it), and take 17 or 77 at the stop you see.
Alternatively, it may be faster despite the detour, to go to Seoul central station and take a long-distance train to Gwangmyeong station, because these long-distance trains are more (!) frequent than the metro trains at the last piece of line 1.

It could be much better if properly managed. It turns to be an amusement park with sone aquarium, disney figurine and wine shop inside the cave. A mix of everything with no proper respect for history

Sure it's a bit far (40 mins train, 40 mins bus) from most main tourist zones in Seoul, but this quirky little park is worth your time. Part cave, part weird underground amusement park, this place can keep you busy for an hour or two for sure. I see people talking about the walking/steps, but if you are even minorly in shape, it's not an issue (maybe a few hundred stairs total).
We did a cold wednesday morning and it was almost completely empty. For only 6000won, plus another 3000 to go through a "horror cave", you really can't go wrong.
In addition to the cave and it's few offshoots, you can also do some virtual reality (5000-14000won), climb a platform for pretty good views, and there is upcycle art gallery worth a quick wander.
It's not that the cave or attractions were so good, it's just the undeniable uniqueness of the entire experience that isn't available anywhere else on planet earth.
