I purchased four Senior Adult tickets in advance on the Thursday 21 Nov for us to visit on Friday 22 Nov. Unfortunately on the day one of our party woke up with a temperature and was unwell so only three of us went. My only disappointment was that they will not action a refund if someone does not come. My tip is DO NOT BUY TICKETS IN ADVANCE!!!!!! "Buy them on the day you arrive to avoid disappointment".
The rest of our visit went without a hitch and the volunteer staff do have lots of knowledge and information. The museum itself is not vast but what it has is simply superb, educational and was of great interest to the three of us. In fact there is so much information to take in that I doubt you will be able to absorb it all on one visit. The items on display from the SOE (Special Operations Executive) was so interesting and we ended up spending quite some time in this area. Volunteers are like a shadow and will track you around the museum passing on knowledge etc as you view things. One gem we encountered was the real voice recording of a Lancaster Bomber Crew over Germany talking to each other prior to and during a bombing run. It was excellent to be able to here these young men communication during an actual sortie/mission😊.
We stopped twice during our tour of the museum to enjoy the wonderful small "Cockpit Café"🍽️. The ladies in here are really lovely and the food and drinks on offer just superb. Everything is realistically priced so for example either a three Sausage or Bacon Sandwich will set you back £3. A pot of tea is highly recommended and you will easily get two+ cups out of your individual pot. We would certainly highly recommend a visit to this museum and also the Café on site. There is ample parking on site and several aircaft on staic display as well. Thank you for a great visit.

Brilliant day looking around this small museum absolutely crammed full of interesting items and information. Very knowledgeable staff made it a great day, offering answers to questions when needed and on hand to describe all aspects of some of the exhibits. After landing a Folland Gnat on the small simulator I got the chance to go on the Lightning simulator (both free) which was brilliant. A shout out to Dave who guided me around the skies of Portsmouth in the cockpit of a lightning! Small museum but great for Battle of Britain enthusiasts with an interesting collection of cold War exhibits too. Probably not a full day to be spent here and perhaps more for people who enjoy meandering, reading and learning. All in all a brilliant little museum and the cafe is decent too.

We were greeted by very enthusiastic volunteers and directed to the start of the museum
The museum has loads of information boards, all need reading, and exhibits to see. The volunteers are on hand to give information and are very pleasant to listen to.
There are informative films to watch, and of course, being Tangmere, there was one on Douglas Bader.
Going through to the hangars and seeing the different aeroplanes was a mouth opening experience. Until you have been stood next to the plane you do not realise how big they are. Once again, information boards, television information, and volunteers were all to hand.
Throughout the museum there are simulators which allow both adults and children to try their hand at "flying" an aeroplane. Also, for younger visitors Biggles the Bear has been hidden in strategic places.
We found it extremely well laid out, with plenty of seating around the museum, giving a well needed pit stop.
There is a cafe, which we didn't go to this time, and toilets.
We had a lovely time here, and found it to be one of the friendliest museums we have been to. It was disable friendly and for all ages. Very much an Aladins Cave and thoughtfully laid out.

This pace is fantastic. So much to see but the thing that really makes it is the volunteers. My kids absolutely love aircraft and military history and adored chatting with the volunteers who really understood how to talk to them and share that joint enthusiasm. Particular thanks to David and Clive who were wonderful, but many other volunteers there too who were also very welcoming. My youngest is asking to go back so he can have on his birthday with his new friends at the museum! Utterly brilliant and a trip we will remember for a long time to come.

A bucket list choice by my other half, we lived in Bognor for a long time and he has worked all around this area but never managed to visit this place, anyhow being back on a short break we visited it. He is 6ft 3, 17 stone, a retired builder and has done occasional door work, he also lost two uncles in the War and an auntie in the camps who he never got the chance to meet. Now on to the museum, we were both stunned by the exhibits and the staff knowledge, poignant and thought-provoking, this is a very special place which must be preserved at all costs and should also be on every school agenda for a visit, never have I seen him this emotional so to all the staff, and the people that helped donate exhibits, thank you, but the biggest thank you are for the brave men and women that gave all to keep us free. Please visit this wonderful tribute and keep the memory alive.

We visited the museum as I have great interest in aviation and have a fascination for aircraft and the first and second world wars this museum has been on my wish list for many years and as we were staying at a caravan park close to Chichester we decided to visit the museum what a absolutely incredible place to visit very friendly guides and so much information.
We were there for over 5hrs and still did not manage to see everything the museum has to offer, we are arranging a revisit in the near future to continue exploring the fantastic amount of fascinating memorabilia that they house.
My wife and I thoroughly recommend a visit to this museum as it’s a treasure trove of displays and aircraft.
The cafe is excellent and the food and drink prices are very reasonable.

Lovely museum if you’re into history. RAF WW2 was a major part of this museum and had a lot of great history on pilots for that era including memorials of the souls lost, 100% recommended as a great venue to visit when in the area

What an excellent place, rammed full of artefacts and information telling a fascinating story of this special airfield and its people. There is so much to see and read and it’s all put together so well, you could easily spend best part of a day there and that’s before you visit the incredible aircraft!

What a great experience! There is something for every aviation enthusiast here. The museum is very atmospheric, with many fascinating stories of service personnel. There is so much to read and look at and the museum pays a fitting tribute to the Battle of Britain and beyond. Extensive and rare artefacts fill the display halls and time flies when trying to digest it all. The historical aircraft collection is great and the hangers also contain many fantastic scale model examples of aircraft across the history of aviation. The volunteer staff clearly enjoy their role and provide great additional insight if you need it. Overall, a great place to visit.

I cant answer your question directly as I dont remember seeing any dogs there on my visit. I expect it is not a problem on the outside exhibitions, but probably they aren't allowed inside. May I suggest you phone them and check. It's a great place to visit 🙂

As has been reported, visitors can use the small grassed picnic area at the front of the Museum without the need to purchase food/drink from the cafeteria
