First off use these co ordinates.To the ticket office, as gets you there and the parking 7.3600746.80.931840 fee 900r entry Which is very reasonable.
The drive there is a proper country track.
There are so so many things to see along the walk, butterflys, birds, monkeys, bugs plants flowers etc etc,
90 minutes walk to the falls Not difficult at all as mostly level. The falls ate spectacular.
We were to swim, But the water looked a bit too murky for us.
Superb trip, And strangly, Not touristy at all And super clean, Unlike a lot of Dirty religious place !

This is the widest waterfall in Sri Lanka that situated in Hasalaka. The Hasalaka Oya which starts from the famous Knuckles mountain range creates this.
Waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfall in the world that I have seen. But this time bit less water. This one is surrounded with beautiful floras and faunas. Have to walk about 2Km along the canel. If you are visiting, please bring back everything you carry. Minimum 1/2 day require to spend.

The walk to the waterfalls is beautiful , though older people need to be careful as some parts of the walk rare very narrow and require support from a guide. The falls are dramatic and a bath in some of the quiet pools at the base are highly recommended (though the rocks can very slippery) . I was lucky that my guide induced me to walk down to the hidden falls as well (also referred to as the Kallua Falls)

One of which was Ratna Ella and a dawn sail around in the Sorroboro Wewa.
Our assigned tour guide was Dilan Navarathne. Dilan took us on this amazing tour to the waterfall "Rathna Ella" which is a 6 Km off road hike. I have to say how lucky we were to have him as our tour guide. His expertise as a guide was outstanding. I must also say about his attention on ensuring our well being and safety was paramount. He took all the way to the mid point of the waterfall which was challenging feat. I'm also eternally grateful for manner in which he took care of my boys and my wife in particular who was most vulnerable given the nature of the terrain. He made sure that no harm came to her and was always protective of her especially when we made the journey from the base of the waterfall to the upper level. He also introduced us to some of the local folks engaged in the cottage industry and clay pots and weaving of straw items. It was a humbling experience for all of us.

The trek is a little tiring but it is all worth. A must do. It took us 3 hours to reach with kids. There is a place where it is safe to bathe. Carry light weight as possible.

Красивый, мощный водопад. Гид вёл нас пешком по жаре, за счёт чего путешествие показалось достаточно тяжелым.

Amazing waterfall in hasalaka. Very close to hasalaka town. Trek starts from Rathna ella village. You have to come in Wasgamuwa road and turn to eldamporuwa road. Not hard to find as there are sign boards all the way through. There are parking areas and from there you have to trek for about 4kms along a water canal. Pathway is beautiful which goes through paddy fields, jungle and village houses. There are some tricky areas you have to be bit careful of slippery rocks.
Once you reach the bottom of waterfall you’ll realize all the effort you have put is really worthwhile. Don’t try to bath at the very bottom of the waterfall as many lives have been lost there. There are bathing spots on the way.
Don’t bring any garbage and pollute the area.

We drove from our hotel to the start of the trek to the waterfall. It took us about 1 hour to walk to the base and then we spent about 20 mins scrambling up rocks to get higher.
We were the only ones there. It was beautiful. It is an easy walk but along a stream and some parts very narrow. We had a helpful dog who travelled with us all the way up. A definite must see if you're in the area.
We ordered rice and curry from the restaurant where we parked the car for when we cane back Rs550 per person. It was very tasty. I would highly recommend it.

Follow google map direction for Rathna Ella carpark. You can even ask people on the way how to get there, villagers will direct you.
You can take a tuk, Jeep, car to the carpark and then take a walk from there. It’s not a difficult walk at all. It’s about 1 hour walk from the car park and directions are given via boards, it’s very easy. At the end of the walk, there is a challenge to climb few steps, but you can do it. There is an option to cross the waterfall from this side to the other side as well and then you can go upto the waterfall. You can contact hotel kevans casa and get a guide for this. If not, on the same side right at the end of the walking path, climb the rock and walk another 15 minutes to get to bathing spot.
When we went in December it was raining and we did not get a dip as water was very strong and currents could have washed us away. Safety first!

De wandeling naar de waterval is echt een uitdaging....over smalle richeltjes langs het water en klimmen en klauteren... maar meer dan de moeite waard
