We were staying in port Stewart which is not that far from this attraction and it was our first time back in the area for 25 years . It’s now called curry’s but everyone calls it Barry’s who I think were the previous owners . it is very much a family day out . There are a number of things to do rollercoaster , waltzers , ghost train etc .. there seemed to be something for all ages . I even found the horse racing game which I hadn’t seen since visiting Rothesay . Everything is done with vouchers . Entry to rides / winning prizes etc . Definetly worth visiting even if just for an hour or two particularly on a wet day . Well located in the town near lots of bars and restaurants .

Great fun day but prices are too high. Tokens are approximately £1 and most rides need 3 per person. This is double the Barry’s prices! My daughter and her friend shared a ghost train - it was 6 tokens each time, which is £6 for a 2 minute ride. Far too expensive!

It was fantastic to visit Currys Fun Park in Portush today. It was great to see old rides such as bumper cars, helter-skelter and the big dipper as well as the introduction of new rides such as the beast and crazy frogs.
However the coin machines/arcade games didn't have appropriate signs that showed how much each game cost. For example I was playing the game where the ball drops into a hole and that's how many tickets you get, I was basically guessing how much the game cost because there was no clearly labelled sign that said how much the game cost. Many of the money machines like the 2p machines didn't give you tickets. And most of the games were broken/didn't work.
A member of staff swore at my friend when they asked for help. The female staff was helpful but she was the only one at the arcade games section.
FYI They have stolen the Cadburys logo.

Went on Easter Tuesday, madness with queues, 1hr queue to even get in the building and then 30 mins for each ride, will be avoiding again at peak ttime

Curry’s have invested heavily with new rides and upgraded old one to recapture the unique atmosphere of what, for 100 years, was Barry’s. It had been busy since reopening with visitors enjoying the new Helter Skelter, new NY Taxi style dodgems and the Fearsome Beast as well as the many existing rides including thd Big Dipper. It’s a great place to do with something for people of all ages. Free entry.

Then you know what happened - !!!!

It looks like they are just waiting until 2021 - in April again
( at Easter )
before trying again.
They couldn’t even get workmen on site to tidy or replace anything.

Having heard of this attraction and the history it tells of many family days out in the past , it was such a shame to see it all boarded up and derelict.
We can only hope that it will be bought up and updated for the enjoyment that our family has had.

this place makes port rush , a child's heaven !!! Or even some adults!! This place is a must when coming to the north coast. By going on a roller coaster " The big dipper" you can see all over the beach!! When riding this roller coaster in the evening it is beautiful.

Hi the website gives you all the opening times per month and there is a link to this from tripadvisor. Barry’s is open on Saturday 1st September 12:30-9:30pm and then it is closed until April 2020 when the season starts again. Lots of info on the website & this place is totally free to get in! See my review. A must visit! Hope you make it in the 1st September for the closing day! Have fun 😁
