I can’t rate Dolomite highly enough. They’re excellent for a fun time! I've been caving with them twice. The experience both times was amazing and they offer great support - I enjoyed my time and also picked up some fundamentals of caving, bonus! They offered a wide variety of activities in the caves that they discussed with us beforehand and helped us decide, we abseiled down a waterfall, traversed, climbed, and learnt loads about the caves, and all the stuff is low pressure and really well supported. The kit they provide is really well looked after and keeps you warm and dry. Very satisfied with all this. I recommend Dolomite to anyone who is looking for a great adventure with a company that goes the extra mile. Thank you Steve and Wendy!

Hey Steve, this is David, me you and my father went out to do the giants hole round trip and I CANNOT recommend dolomite training more. The whole trip was brilliantly prepared, we felt incredibly safe and comfortable with you, all the equipment was perfect. I felt like you read us perfectly and chose the best route really well, you were really knowledgeable and encouraging. Very professional and prepared. I had an absolutely brilliant time and as someone looking to get into caving this experience was perfect and I'm already excited thinking about a second trip out! my dad had some troubles with the false vice but you kept him calm and perfectly instructed to him how to get out. He was incredibly impressed as well. If you're a first time caver or looking for a good, exciting adventure then dolomite training is absolutely the place for you!

Booked a 1-1 day for my sons GCSE PE practical. He had climbed with Wendy before and it has been an excellent day so I had no hesitation in boot again. The weather was atrocious but we managed to get all the footage we needed, climbing first in the quarry and then on Stanage Edge when the weather cleared a bit. Thanks to Steve and Wendy for a successful day.

An absolutely fantastic day with Steve Rudge. You will not find a better, more professional yet completely relaxed instructor of abseiling, caving, etc in the Peak District.

Had an awesome day caving and got to do way more than we expected! One friend felt abit nervous and apprehensive but our instructor Wendy was brilliant. She was patient, reassuring and calming. Thank you, would highly recommend!

Brilliant day with Wendy our instructor on the intermediate climbing course. Wendy was a fantastic instructor and we left after a full day with lots of tips and advice. It was a great experience of outdoor climbing in a gorgeous location. Highly recommended

I've always had a fascination with caving but never actually been on any organised caving trips.
I'd been to the White Scar Caves in Yorkshire, the Honistor slate mine and Chislehurst caves but nothing ever proper meaty.
I'd arranged a nice break in the Peak District and decided that I would contact some proper Caving companies and see what they could offer.
Following a recommendation from another caving company (always a great sign), Steve @ Dolomite responded to my email and asked me to give him a call.
We chatted about my level of experience (zero) and attitude for adventure (high). I explained the kind of experience that my partner and I were looking for and from this he put together a loose itinerary of what we could see.
The day arrived and we were met by Wendy, an incredibly friendly, positive and cheerful instructor who worked with Steve.
She ran through where we would be starting and upon arriving there (Bagshaw Cave) went through what we needed to wear (all of which Dolomite provided).
Wendy was truly amazing. My GF was a little uncertain about the caving but knew that she wanted to push herself to do it. Wendy was patient and encouraging and supportive. She was happy to stop and reassure my partner whenever she felt uncertain and offered so many snippets of information on the mines/caves that we were in.
She identified that I was a bit more confident in that environment and pushed me to try a bit of narrow scrambling which I thoroughly enjoyed.
The caving, experience and sights that I saw were fantastic but Wendy truly made the day. She was a pleasure to cave with who made us feel safe and in the hands of a professional at all times.
I'm not sure if my GF will do any more caving but if I get the chance to, Dolomite will certainly be at the top of my list.

I went abseiling and caving today with a group of 7 friends. We had a great time and would highly recommend!
One of our friends was a bit afraid of abseiling but Steve was great with him and he ending up having a great time!
The caving was excellent, a good mix of challenging and fun, although you need to be prepared to get very wet.
The instructors were all excellent.
I would note that you need to bring your own car to drive to the caving - we walked and had to go back to our accommodation to get our car.
One of our friends was a bit afraid of abseiling but Steve was great with him and he ending up having a great time!

We absolutely loved our caving experience! Steve was very knowledgeable, friendly, funny and made you feel at ease around the more challenging parts of the route.
We did the intermediate course and it was the whole experience! We crawled, climbed, abseiled, ducked and twisted our way through the caves, up and down waterfalls and through some very challenging obstacles! It really was worth the journey we made.
I highly recommend this course and indeed this company. Very professional yet personal and you can feel the passion for the outdoors and adventure that Steve has.
I can’t wait to book another adventure with Dolomite!
