A small but fun farm. I got to hold a piglet so my life was made! Can’t guarantee you’ll be able to hold a piglet but a fun place for all ages. Even have sheep and ferret racing!

We don't currently have any piglets, nor would we allow the public to handle them. We offer small animal petting rather than handling for the wellbeing of our animals 😊 We do however have sheep and ferret racing.

We went for my son’s 3rd birthday. Having paid £83 you’d have expected a lot more. Absolutely everything was shut off the only things for the little ones to see were horses and sheep. We was very disappointed. I think they should advise when booking if things will not be open on your visit considering the price! There was only a few families there and all as disappointed as we were. Unfortunately we wouldn’t return.

During your visit on Sunday only two events were cancelled; the sheep race and the ferret race. This was due to the bad weather and for the safety of our staff and animals.
All of the other events were still available including the wallaby talk and encounter, small animal petting, crazy golf, pony rides, sheep walking and meerkat talk and feed.
The indoor Rainforest Play Barn was open as well as the animal barns, café, fodder wagon and shops.
We take the health and safety of our customers very seriously. Unfortunately the Jumping Pillow cannot be open in bad weather due to the risk of children slipping on the wet surface.
Alternatively, our undercover Enchanted Hamlet area provides lots of playtime fun in all weather with its adventure playground, tots go karts and large sand pit with diggers and mud kitchens.
There are another two outdoor play areas plus lots of animals to see and feed around the farm park too.
The cost of your entry was £61 for the five of you and due to the bad weather we issued everyone with a return day pass, which we hope you will return to enjoy.

Loved our visit. Even though the weather was poor, we still had a great time with pony rides for the children, sandpit and activity area under cover and lots of animals to pet & feed

We're pleased that you still found lots to see and do despite the poor weather, such as playing in the undercover Enchanted Hamlet area with it's adventure playground, tot's go karts and large sand pit with diggers and mud kitchens.
The indoor play barn, warm café and indoor animal barns provide shelter to escape the rain also.
We're delighted that you had a great time riding our ponies and feeding our friendly farm animals too!

Lovely animal park, its had a lot of work done since i last went, took my friends daughter who is 12 and we both had a great time. Every where was clean and the animals all looked happy, wish the ferrets would have been awake lol. We didn't eat there but there was plenty of places to eat and drink also lots of picnic areas. Highly recommend.

Animals-about the most exotic you get are llamas so nothing especially exciting. Lots of pigs, sheep, deer and ducks. You can hand feed some and get a bag of food with your ticket-which is just as well as it's not cheap!
They do have events and activities at certain times and it's worth checking online.
The cafe has a limited menu and seating next to the softplay.

We're pleased you enjoyed the animal based activities which are included with entry costs, such as meerkat talk and feed, wallaby encounter, tortoise bathing, small animal petting, sheep race, ferret race and meet the goats/kids.
There are lots of other activities also included with entry providing great value for money, such as a tots play area, the Enchanted Hamlet all-weather play area and sand pit, the UK's largest Jumping Pillow, an indoor soft play, crazy golf, an additional playground and many animals to see too, including alpacas, highland cattle, a giant tortoise, deer, llamas, horses and donkeys, to name a few. We hope you enjoyed meeting / feeding them.
The Rainforest Play Barn has a limited menu, however the main café has a wide and varied menu to suit all budgets. There are also catering outlets in the farm park to grab food on the go.

Very impressed with Matlock Farm Park, me and my husband took our little boy on Friday and it was so lovely. Lots of animals, and they all look very happy and looked after. Plenty of facilities and one of the nicest toilets I’ve ever seen at a farm! We didn’t do any of the extra activities but there’s lot of information about all the things they do, Alpaca walking, sheep racing, small animal petting. Will definitely be going back x

We arrived at the park before it opened to wait for friends, not sure who was most excited myself or the 3 year old twins, 10am arrived, gates open quickly followed by a long que of customers, a second ticket office opened to easy the question.
We entered the park and I was most impressed by the improvements made over the last few years . Loads of seating areas , play areas with sand buckets and spades 10/10. Not long to wait for the small animal petting session, rabbit, guinea pig, and tortoise. Then a trip around the park that took us almost all day stopping to feed the animals along the way and a play on each play park.
Highly recommended and suitable up to 10/12 year old
Definitely be returning soon. Thankyou for a good day out at a reasonable price

I have been coming for years, however in the last couple years I haven’t been for some time. I came yesterday with my little girl and absolutely love the renovations and additions. The new entrance is fab, the new play areas, the shop. I love it! The staff were all so friendly from the ticket desk, to the cafe staff in the play area (the young guy on at lunchtime was the most wonderful and friendly person, really good at what he does!), to the girls at the pony rides. We had a fantastic day despite the constant rain and mist. The cheeky reindeer made our day! We cannot wait to come back again and again, there’s just so much to do!

It was an exciting experience for the family. My 3-year old thoroughly enjoyed feeding the animals. The pony ride was also a memorable experience for her. Though the pony ride was short, the lady handler was very friendly, engaging my daughter in a conversation and also allowed her an opportunity to feed the pony. The park swings, rides and slides added some extra activities in between.

Such an amazing place for kids and adults! We had an amazing day out as a family. There is plenty to do, feeding animals, pony rides, sand pit, parks for kids and lots more!

Yes the disable parking is near to the entrance kiosk.
Inside all the pathways are tarmacked, making it easy access for wheelchairs, disabled scooters and buggies for small children.
Hope you enjoy your day out.
Ps also quite a few picnic tables around the site,in case you take your own food.

Yes. The grounds are mainly gravel based so depending on the wheelchair may be tricky to push in places, but that said the grounds are mainly flat so good for prams/wheelchairs etc.
It's a lovely day out when sunny!
