We visited the lakes after the brickworks as this is where the clay came from. It was a hot day so walking round the lakes was lovely and cool. So pretty and peaceful and lots of wildlife to spot.

Lovely walks with lots of wildlife to see, particularly lots of dragonflies today. Disappointing that several of the walks were closed due to maintenance though nothing taking place today. Why not close one at a time when work is actually happening.

This was our first visit and it aint to far from us so think we will visit again.
Ideal for walks (3 different routes you can do). Some great spots for picnics if the wether is on your side.

Had a lovely walk around all three of the coloured routes. It's fairly muddy on some of the paths at the moment, but no trouble if you're wearing walking boots.

We took our dogs but kept them on the lead. There's a sign saying please keep your dogs under control either by being on the lead or walking by your side.

We went on a dog walk around the lakes, not so easy to find if you don’t know how to get there. Aim for NATS Swanwick, and turn right at the mini roundabout just before the gatehouse, this will take you down a small windy road to get to the car park.

Lots of sensory things to do with kids there too. I would recommend keeping kids and dogs close as the lakes could easily be fallen into if they slipped. They recommend that dogs be kept on leads if they are likely to jump in the lake as it is a nature reserve.

Very peaceful, I’ve never seen more than 2 people there! (Although we do go during the winter more).

Can take anywhere from 15-1.5 hours to walk around, depending on what route you take - lots of sign posts to help you choose where to go, or just follow any path!

Very well maintained and is beautiful. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a bit of quiet time or a mindful walk.

Just around the corner from us this is a fave spot for a picnic. Great views. And wildlife. Can easily spend the day up here exploring all there is.

Some nice walks around the nature reserve. Parking expensive. We had an afternoon tea which was very ordinary and not cheap.

I am caring for a 86 yr old lady with dementia and i found this nature reserve today by chance near Burridge whilst out for a drive.

It has a small car park with a couple of benches nearby which suited us as she cannot walk v far.

Lots of wild flowers, grasses around the lake and of course ducks who were keen to see what we had to eat. Having said that there are notices advising not to feed them for their welfare and so as not to spoil the lake.

There are walks around the lake and into the woodland, but my lady was happy sitting.

There were men fishing but not sure if you need prior permission or a permit.

There is no shop but an educational hut with info and a stuffed badger which would interest youngsters. They do have school visits.

A nice little spot for a picnic.
