Poorly run operation. Told wait would be 10-15 minutes. Only one person working. And he was bouncing all over. Took about 35 minutes. When we mildly complained, he told us rudely of we didn't like it we could leave. He'd pore a tiny couple of drops in a tiny plastic cup, then take a phone call or a FedEx pkg, or wait on others, etc. Worse winery/wine tasting experience in my life. If you can run out nicely, pleasantly and smoothly, you should get out of this business. Or at least get someone else to work there to help. It's not our fault you are overwhelmed. Talk about a poor experience.

My boyfriend and I went here for the first time a couple of months ago. We loved the tasting. I thought the lady was very nice and funny who gave the tasting. Then in October I brought my two girlfriends with me to do the tasting. It does look deceiving when you pull up though. It looks like it is run out of someone's house but those wineries have the best wine!

Don't let the outside fool you. Very nice tasting room in the back. Wine were incredible. Amazing that such great wines are being made in NJ. Gene , the owner and wine maker, was fantastic. Obvious pride in his product and not all about the dollars and cents. Highly recommend to all wine lovers to stop by. I'm sure you'll be as equally surprised.

Ok, so visually, it leaves a lot to be desired. The driveway is wooded and looks a little run down, but it's family owned and right on their property; you can see the house from the parking lot. It's also a tree farm, if I read the signage correctly. Anyway, pulling up to it, mom and I weren't sure if we were in the right place because it was pretty empty, but the signs said "Tasting room -->" so we figured we had to be. The tasting room is small, so you're not going here with a big group, but Anne and Gene make you feel very welcome.
Anne is very knowledgeable about the wines and you can tell she keeps her husband on track, but Gene is so much fun! He's chatty and very forward with his opinion about his wines and wine in general, among other things, but it doesn't come across badly at all. Quite the contrary. He's great to talk to and balances out his wife's personality wonderfully. They make a great team. The wines are quite good, probably because he ages them, unlike most NJ wineries. It's amazing what sitting a bottle for a two or three years will do. He prefers aging them longer, and even made a point to say that he's got cases of... I think it was a Pinot Noir, but I forget now. Regardless, his son, who is the main winemaker, entered it into a contest, but Gene said he's not going to sell it for awhile because, despite it getting a bronze medal, he doesn't think it's ready yet. Everyone seemed to think he was nuts, but I totally see where he's coming from.
The two of them seem to be very on top of their own wines and I think that's the main reason why such a small vineyard is so successful. Otherwise, it's off the beaten path and you'll miss it if you blink.

We went there over Columbus Day weekend and absolutely love this vineyard. The owner's wife offered us a free tour of their property before our tasting ($5 per tasting, or $10 if you want to keep the glass). The wine selection was superb, it was our favorite out of the vineyards/wineries we went to in the area. After the tasting we sat outside and enjoyed the bottles we purchased. They even gave us grapes to taste to go along with our wine! They do not offer food or music for purchase, but if you’re looking to enjoy good wine in a nice quiet environment…then this place is it. We will most definitely be coming back!

This one is tough because Ventimiglia is run by a family... that also live on the property. It was very odd driving up the driveway because signage is minimal, and we were looked at as though we were coming upon an area where only locals ever go (or family). It made sense once we saw that the family sitting outside was the one running the winery. What was also interesting were their children running in and out of the "tasting room". The older gentleman was fun, welcoming and friendly. his son was just weird... almost like he was drunk or high. He lacked personality and will have issues if he is to take over this business because he can't explain anything about the wine or where the grapes come from. Also, it was VERY odd that he swirled and spat right in front of us while we were tasting... Not even off to the side, but on the counter, directly in front of us. Wines were decent, but we would never return, especially since this business is run from the back side of someone's house.

Definitely have to be looking for it... But very nice little tasting room! Anne was extremely nice and knowledgeable about the wine! She and her husband own the property. Very nice wines with some awards to back them up! Not really good for a large crowd or group. Outside area could be cleaned up a bit and be made a little more "vineyard" appealing. My partner and I enjoyed ourselves and would truly visit again!!!

If you're a fan of dry but very "soft" red wines, you have to visit this place for a tasting. Each red got better as I went through the flight. The Chambourcin is reasonably priced at 16.95; the Merlot was incredible (price $45). the great Fratelli Ventimiglia was on sale. All felt like velvet in the mouth with no sharp aftertaste. There is a $5 tasting fee. The owner is a delightful man who learned his winemaking craft from his grandfather, who came from Italy to Paterson.

We recently stopped by this "vineyard" during a visit to the area. The grounds look run down like a dump, not pretty at all - not what you'd expect from a "vineyard". It is inside a small house type trailor thing, and tastings are done standing at the tiny counter. You can taste 6 for $5 or all of them for $10. We didn't like any of the wines at all really. And all of their bottle prices were pretty expensive. The people there were nice but that's about it. And the water they gave us to rinse our glass/palette smelled like sewage, I almost threw up when I smelled it. They do not sell glasses of wine here, and there is no food, no cheese, nothing. There is one picnic table outside but I have no idea why you would want to sit there. There are MUCH nicer wineries to visit in this area. Don't waste your time here.
