Ok you can walk in a rainforest in many places; both in Aus and around the world. We have experienced both so felt this visit to be a tad overpriced for what it gave.
The walks are informative by way of the headphones and well-signed prompts. The kids will love the dinosaurs....we didn't!
Vegetation and the tower were good experiences but the attempt to highlight some of the indigenous animals fell quite flat at times. Looking at other reviews I tend to agree that the animal areas were not worth the money although perhaps our visit to the Crocodile Farm tipped us this way?
Interesting but not a "must do" attraction I would say.

Was up there recently. $78 for both of us. I am unclear how you can charge this much. It is not value for money. It might be educational and informative for a bus load of primary school kids but not for adults. More can be achieved on your own trek. No need to reply.

As a privately run business, our Centre not only allows access and information for all ages to every part of the rainforest, from the top of the trees to the forest floor, but your entry fee ensures we remain open 364 days of the year and contributes to rainforest research and conservation.
Sorry it wasn't an experience you enjoyed, we hope you had a great time in the Daintree.

Enjoyed our visit! Staff were friendly, well set up with audio guide and different areas taking you through the rainforest so learnt a lot!

For $40 each its ridiculously overpriced when you could do one of the free walks further on. I am also disgusted that even with that high price for entry all of the reptile enclosures were disgusting with fecals (poo) in almost everyone and most had no access to water due to it being empty let alone the enclosures overalll set up. Seeing as snakes dont eat every day let alone weekly it suggests that they have not even been checked on or cared for for at lest a week. For a place that prides itself on connecting to the rainforest this is appalling welfare and standards. Woud not go here and i will never be going back.

Thank you for taking the time to review our Discovery Centre, whilst we are not a zoo we do have a small collection of insects, reptiles and fish.
We appreciate some people do not like seeing animals in captivity, but can assure you that our enclosures are cleaned daily, and our animals are cared for under very strict guidelines.
I will pass your comments onto our team for their feedback.
We have no funding other than the entry fee, which also contributes to rainforest research and conservation, so your visit is much appreciated.
We hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in the Daintree.

Walk amongst the Daintree forest tree tops on the nicely set out walkways and enjoy the trees and plant life, with a few surprises along the way like the Cassowary.
The head phones that are provided are great, you can go at your own pace and stop and press the button to hear information about the stop and what plant species you are looking at, which is every informative.
So many beautiful plants, trees and insects to explore. Lots of bird life. The walk ways and well designed. The tower has great views (as well a good phone reception), so many things to explore, a feast for the eyes and the senses.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. We used our ticket to return the following day and found that this was a good way to see what we had missed the first time round.
I would recommend more than one day for those travelling with young children.
The guidebook and audio guide gave a lot of interesting information.
The dinosaur exhibit was a little run down, probably due to the models being exposed to the elements.

Admired the layout, the dedication of the centre to conservation, and the rainforest itself. The walkways are amazing. Staff at the centre were helpful and courteous.
The audio and the hard copy booklet are both really well designed, and informative.

39$ por una paseo por la selva con una audioguia es una estafa.
Te lo venden como que vas a ver animales (casuario entre otros) y solo ves insectos y peces en peceras y unos dinosaurios cutres de plástico.
La torre esta bien para ver la selva desde arriba, pero no para pagar eso.
No vale más de 10$.
Pasa de largo si no quieres sentirte estafado.

Sorry this was your opinion of our Discovery Centre, we are not a zoo but an opportunity to access and learn all about the Worlds Oldest Rainforest, from the forest floor to the top of the trees.
Your entry fee not only contributes to rainforest research and conservation , but also ensures we remain open 364 days of the year.

It’s worth the visit. But not as big as I thought it was. And we didn’t use the self guided things as we have two young kids that don’t like to stand still. We did all the walks and the tower. And had a bite to eat at the cafe. The staff was super helpful and even helped use with a map of places to visit while we were there

How stroller/pram friendly is the Skywalk?

I can't recall parents wheeling strollers about however for the most part the board walks are wide and flow into each other. It would be impossible to reach the top of the viewing tower with a pram as you climb steps from one platform to the other. I imagine if you have help you would be able to negotiate the lower boardwalk and perhaps walk up to the top of the tower carrying the child. The staff were extremely helpful so I would suggest emailing them and putting the question directly to them.

Hiring a car allowed us the freedom to move around and see a range of attractions - without the worry of following a timetable. We were able to enjoy this attraction at our own pace.
