Donated items to this small museum. Not spectacular but very real feel to it. Located in a school donated to the town after WW1 by Victorians. School hall is unique for France. We did taxi from Corbie station to SJMC, to FA museum and then back to Corbie for train back to Lille. Taxi’s booked by SJMC excellent staff worked fantastically well.

An amazing experience in this intimate space that demonstrates the bonds between Australia and France forged on the battlefield in WWI. This museum is carefully curated from mainly donated items. It's a great way to spend an afternoon , especially if you are interested in WWI history.

A visit to the Franco-Australian Museum is a very moving experience, as we discovered. First, the sign outside the Victoria School, where the museum is located, is a powerful reminder of the bond between the locals and France in general, and the Australians who participated in the battle to hold off the Germans in WWI, defending the village of Villers-Bretonneux, in 1918. The sign says Do Not Forget Australia. The Victoria School was established in 1927, as a gift from the schoolchildren of the Australian state of Victoria. The Museum has some amazing exhibits recovered from the battlefields nearby and donated to it by individuals and others. It is a very small museum but its significance is huge, especially if the visitor is Australian.

Dit zou een interessant museum zijn, maar het was gesloten en zelfs de inwoners van het stadje wisten dit niet! Een pijnlijke omweg voor niets onder het mom van COVID-19 preventie.

While this is only quite a small museum, it is particularly good, especially from an Australian perspective. We came here on our self drive trip and it was worth the stop. Yopu learn so much from travelling and this is a greatexample of that. A must see.

The museum is a low tech experience compared to SJMC which was refreshing. The link to the school is incredible and our children were each given a picture drawn by a student reflecting their impressions of Australia. Sadly these were about the current bushfires, indicative of the deep and immediate knowledge the children have of Australia. Our family was very moved by the whole experience and would recommend this as a memorable addition to a trip to the SJMC. The walk between the two museums took about 40 minutes, and was also worthwhile as it gave more perspective on the landscape and conditions during the war. We visited in midwinter and both museums were almost empty, adding to the somber and reflective mood. Highly recommend.

After seeing the Monash Centre and the Australian War Memorial this museum was our last stop on our WW self drive experience. It was just wonderful to see how much Australia means to the people in this area - it was heart warming and very uplifiting to think that our young diggers still mean so much.

As proud Victorians we just loved the history here and would recommed it to all who come to the area. We should never forget .

The museum was very informative and educational and gave insight into WW1 Battles in the area and the feelings of the locals towards Australia. It is a very modern and well lit museum. There are numerous personal items and mementos from the battles.
Interestingly, there were a few French people looking around also.
If this type of history interests you, it is well worth the effort to visit.
