What should i say about this place ? i have no words to describe this place. I am also surprised to know that it is free of cost. this is must visit place for every sikh. it is kind of museum which illustrate our sikh saheeds, culture, Gurbani techings, sikh gurus life and philosophy. the way of presentation is superb. Ambience is beyond words. it is situated just near to gurudwara anandgarh sahib and takht keshgarh sahib back side. it is in huge area.

Comprehensive view of Sikh and Composite Punjab History. Very impresive presentation and explained in simple language. Sikhs have been warriors and it is sad that this glorious history is not known to many Indians.

Virasat-E-Khalsa,
The magnificent edifice, designed by renowned Israeli-Canadian Architecht, Moshe Safdie to commemorate the tercentenary of the birth of the Khalsa.
Contrary to other Sikh sites, the roofs of this Heritage museum are concave- shaped receptors facing the sky, sheathed in stainless steel, they reflect the sunlight towards the Gurdwara and the Fort.
Spread across a vast area of 6500 ac of land, Virasat-e-Khalsa museum narrates the story of Sikhism and Punjab using latest technology and hand-crafted artefacts
The museum has been envisioned as the world’s largest historical and cultural museum dedicated to a single community. As one wanders across its campus, the museum transports you to the riveting journey of 550 years of Sikh history via its many galleries.
It’s a world class museum where audio guides, fibre optic cables, 3-D movies and pneumatically controlled mannequins rub shoulders with traditional crafts like Bagh phulkari and zardozi, that left me spell bound !

If you have not visited it yet, you are missing a world class story telling on Sikhism and freedom movement. Paintings are incredible so is the depiction. The landscaping is awesome. Water spaces and building architecture is also superb. Go with your family specially with children to make them proud of their heritage.

Each time ticket counters open for 15 minutes, only 3 - 4 visitors manage to get tickets. On the other hand INR 100 is charged for the same ticket to get with lot of struggle & jostling. Total chaos as hundreds & thousands of people throng here. Staff is very rude, slowest & impolite. This is hurting the sentiments of the pilgrims as not only sikh sangat but people of all the faith & religion visit here.
The museum displays lot many relevant and timely treasure of the region & motherland. It gets importance only because of the HISTORICAL TAKHT SRI KESHGARH SAHIB, ANANDPUR, PUNJAB.

A must visit place to know the culture and religion of punjab and it's people. The 3d effects, lighting, ambiance of the place is mind blowing. It is beautifully made. The building structure is also very nice. The only drawback is maintainance, we the people of this country should learn to behave and maintain the museums and other historical places well so that we feel proud in presenting them at international level as well.

It is almost 85 km from Chandigarh to Anandpur sahib. you may hire taxi from railway station to Anadpur sahib. but local busses are available easily from chandigarh to Anandpur sahib. from Chandigarh to Anandpur sahib its almost 2 hour of journey. local hotels are there for stay. although you may stay in Anandpur sahib Gurudwara too.
