Being generous with 3! Opening time on website said 11am arrived 11.30 & not open til 12so wandered around the garden which was beautiful
Confusing audio as soon as we entered the museum & didn’t even work until everything was switched on & off again by staff! Museum was ok but certainly not worth the £4.50 each, noted concessions were £2,50 which seems much more reasonable. Roger Bannister is mentioned as part of the family who owned the house but he appears more of an afterthought which is a shame. Went to cafe however only non dairy milk was on the side of black coffee or tea & despite website stating vegan options there were none on show or on the menu. The house itself is beautiful from the outside & the garden is free to visit so I’d save your money. Could be so much better !

Fascinating little museum with a full history of the building and surrounding area. Delightful little cafe with very reasonable prices and especially helpful, Lovely garden where we were fortunate to meet the gardener who took us on tasting tour of the pants and herbs. Short walk in the grounds to the barn, but not for the infirm.

Nice little place with a prety garden. The museum was just about to close so we didn't get round it, will come again. The cafe serves huge scones but we were quite shocked and surprised to find only Cheddar cheese offered. None of the famous local Lancashire cheese served at a heritage centre seems very strange indeed.

We were invited to a wedding here, so it was our first visit. It was held in the Cruck barn, a magnificent Grade 11, 15th century old threshing barn, rescued from dereliction. We were led to the ceremony through the beautiful gardens. (Advisable to wear flat or low heels!) Everywhere the yards and walkways were cobbled. Something we rarely see today. The meal was served in the 18th century barn. Also a marvelous building, restored sympathetically.
It was a superb venue for a wedding. The ceremony, the food and the ambiance, were enjoyed by all.
We can't wait to return to look around the museum, and have lunch in their cafe. Highly recommended!

Arrived at 10.30am, parked up and was disappointed to read that the museum and shop did not open until midday, there were quite a few other people as well. Missing out on trade here.

The site itself is pretty but heavily lacking in any information on its history, in fact missing out on signage full stop.

We decided to have a quick cuppa in the cafe before getting back in the car and heading off. The lady serving was very sweet and welcoming. After having our drinks we decided to head in to the garden to sit. The gardens are very well maintained it's just a shame opening times were very limited for the rest of the place. Being next to a busy park and 'village' you'd have thought they'd be open earlier and for longer.

Arrived at the Heritage Centre at 3.45 (open until 4pm) and queued outside the cafe as instructed by a poster due to covid which is absolutely fine.. Was after an ice cream/drink. At 3.50 my friend went into to the counter as no one came out and was met by rude staff who said they were closing. My friend said we'd been stood outside waiting for 5 minutes and the cafe didnt close until 4pm. The signs outside the door said this but was met by rudeness again when she asked for 2 bottled waters!
If a place is open until 4pm and you do the correct thing by waiting outside, staff should not be rude or off hand. Dont be rude when someone comes inside cos you are ignoring them and obviously dont want to serve!
Such a shame as there was a lovely lady gardening in the walled garden who was extremely polite. Wont be going back even though i live locally and used to go in alot!
It takes nothing to be polite and I'm sure there are alot of people out there willing to work until 4pm whilst being approachable and polite on a lovely sunny day in the park. Up your game please. Surely you want a vibrant business?

Not very welcoming and you need to purchase something in the cafe if you want to use their toilets. Having paid to go round the museum, you’d think they would let you use them.
Museum itself small and lots to read.

We were visiting the area from the south and decided to drive to the village after happening across the sign. Being a ghost enthusiast, I was well aware of the Pendle witches. We found the heritage centre and firstly got a little confused as the museum was in the shop and was not open. The shop assistant explained that we had to pay to go in and promptly opened it up for us! My 9 year old got an activity sheet to do and I enjoyed reading the plentiful information. Most of it revolved around the house and it’s history but there was a good section on the witches with a video to watch.
The shop offered some really good arts and crafts and the cafe looked good although we didn’t use it.
Worth popping in if you are in the area.
