Up and down both sides of the parade are approx a dozen memorials dedicated to the various armed services and groups that were to service to both Australia and NZ. There are information signs giving a lot of information about each memorial and information about those who were memorialized. The place is prestine and feels very solemn. Allow at least a couple hours to take it all in and if you want to photograph the memorials, do the memorials on the western side in the morning and the eastern side in the afternoon.

Got up early and parked the car and went for a walk down both sides. It was a lovely morning and great way to start the day off.

Nice walk, with lots to see and view. Such a central area too, and you're able to discover local walks.

The walk along Anzac Parade is flat and offers views of the Australian War Memorial to the north and the parliamentary triangle to the south. This is one of Canberra’s grand architectural features. Along Anzac Parade are many memorials commemorating the sacrifices of Australians and New Zealanders over the past century. Most are eye-catching and are interesting enough to make you want to learn more about the back story. An easy way to spend an hour ambling along the Parade.
Thanks for your vote.

The ANZAC Parade walk is a beautiful walk past a dozen munuments remembering Australia's involvement in world conflicts ending with the arrival at the Australian War Memorial. I strongly recommend anyone visiting the war memorial start with the ANZAC parade walk.

After spending a few hours in the war museum, my daughter and I walked over the road to view the sculptures and monuments donated by the people of several countries, taking pictures of them some with my daughter in shot to give the awsome size of some of them. since that day, and over the last 10 years up to 2018 have visited all my favorites, again and again, Now I am not as fit as I was I may not be going again much to my disappointment

This is a worthwhile amble down and back to the War Memorial. The memorials sculptures covering all the services and wars generally well executed. The Boer War and Vietnam memorials stand out, both dramatic and touching. The Vietnam Memorial is the one that stands out for me and the visitor clutching a bunch of roses moving...there was a story of sadness in his eyes of a lost family member or friend. The vista to parliament house bordered by a beautiful strand of gums is impressive,

The range of sculptures and statues along this long street is impressive. Particularly loved the 4 horseman from the Boer War - so lifelike and detailed. If I had better health I would have walked the whole street, but sadly we drove slowly to see as much as we could. Taking time to view each exhibit would be really the thing to do so as not to miss anything.

We were actually on the electric scooters, but it meant we zipped up and down a couple of times.
A worthwhile place to visit.

Nice walk to/from the war memorial, taking in some of the other memorial statues. Might be a bit tough in a wheelchair as the path stops and starts.
