It's more than a decade since my husband and I visited this museum, and we're sure the old man who had shown us around then was Eddie Jacu, whose testimony we listened to in the auditorium; he died last year, aged 101. What a brilliant survivor! Great to see school groups coming through and how culturally sensitive they appeared to be. Congratulations teachers, kids, and parents, and museum staff.

This was a bucket list item of my daughters and we will most definitely be back again as there was so much to take in.
We were lucky enough to be in a test session for the survivors question holograms and they will be a valuable addition once complete as you really felt like you were sitting sharing experiences with a survivor.
The experience was emotional and at times overwhelming but I am so much richer for having been here.

Gave a good appreciation to us and the kids of the shocking adversity people suffered during the war.

We were moved by the exhibits and many stories of Jewish history and the holocaust. Many tears at the tragedies endured by the millions harmed and killed by the Nazis. I took my 15y daughter who also found it very meaningful.

This is a place we should all visit at least once. A poignant exposé of Judaism and The Holocaust. We met Jack who told us his own stories of surviving Nazi atrocities as a 14 year old boy. Emotional yet inspirational.

Excellent museum, beautiful design. I learnt so much. A lot of local information and great displays. Great little shop that can’t keep up with the demand. I would have loved to see even more Jewish and Hebrew learning books for sale, I bought loads of great books and souvenirs. I will be back for sure. Thank you!

Located a 10 minute bus ride from the CBD in Darlinghurst The SJM is an exceptional experience. With a permanent collection as well as temporary exhibitions. Telling the story of Australian Jewry and the Shoah. The buildings architecture is amazing and the gift shop has a great selection of judaica as well

I visited the museum twice during my four weeks in Sydney, one for 90 minutes and then came back for 3 hours + a talk from a survivor.

I cannot recommend this highly enough. The layout of the museum is very good and helps your review of the exhibits/information.

If you can visit to listen to the experiences of a survivor, do so. I think schools should visit or get the survivors to attend schools to ensure that our children understand what happened.

The shop has a great selection of books by survivors and about the Jewish community

This museum is out of the way,but oh so worth the visit. My husband and I was greatly impressed that the staff our holocaust survivors. They brought history alive,by sharing their life experience. This museum is a reminder to the world that this episode in history should never be repeated.
