The range of restaurants, the openess looking over water and the sculptures along the boardwalk and the closeness to the Modern Museum of Art and the Handa Opera in Farm Cove.

Surprise dinner on saturday at the Mantra Restaurant with an amazing view of Woolloomool, it will definitely impress. Staff were warm and welcoming and made a huge effort to make you feel comfortable, I liked that all the waiters had there own personality and very genuine. Food was absolutely delightful, transported back to France with a bisque sauce fit for a king, steak was equally delicious with a charred edge and cooked exactly as requested. Cocktails were high quality with a picture picture element to it, hency why we tried so many. I would highly recommend an espresso martini. Quality of everything from seats, to napkins were all chosen perfectly and makes for a calming effect, were you can simply get lost in the conversation & food.

I will be honest though that not everything was perfect, Dessert unfortunately did not happen as we waited 25 mins for our order to be taken so we decided to leave it. We had over 3-4 waiters ask us if we wanted drinks in the space of 2 mins which happened a number of times, I understand stand its a catch 22 because if it's not asked enough you have people complaining but there needs to be a better system in place to avoid this as it boarderline was taking away from our night.

Overall, loved it! Would highly recommend and worth just telling the waiters for space.

Converted a number of years ago into appartments, a hotel and high end restaurants, this wharf is a masterpiece of how old can become new again. Some of the boardwalk was being replaced as I walked past today, which is interesting in itself as it provides a glimpse of how these structures were built many years ago.

This is an interesting area if you want to extend your walk through the Botanic Gardens or you are looking for somewhere nice to eat after the NSW Art Gallery.
From the Gallery, the wharf is just a 5 minute walk down through the Domain and from the Botanic Garden’s Henry Lawson Gate, its about a 10 minute walk.
A string of waterside restaurants line the historic wharf including Otto, Manta and China Doll. On a sunny day, its not a bad place at all to sit in the sun beside the water.
The wharf has had its ups and downs over time. Built in 1915, it is a massive 400m long wooden structure. For over 60 years it was the major port for the booming wool export market and a hub for immigrants and sailors. WWI & WWII troops farewelled their loved ones from here, before sailing to foreign battlefields. Many of them would never return.
It's hard to imagine that in the 1970s and 1980s when the wharf had fallen into disuse and disrepair, the government wanted to take a wrecking ball to it. Today, luxury boats are lined up along the wharf and on weekends, the restaurants are packed.
Currently the annual Woolloomooloo ArtPark Sculpture Walk is on display. About 30+ works run along the length of the boardwalk and inside the concourse behind the restaurants. The giant squid-like sculpture, 'Tetrapus', caught my eye with its strange gleaming tentacle limbs.
The sculpture walk is free.

Jutting out in to sydney Harbour, is this massive wooden structure, back in the day it was used mainly for the export of wool, and also the staging point for troops going to the 2 World Wars.

Now it is a hotel, restaurant precinct and a marina, which makes it very popular with visitors, tourist and locals, definitely worth a visit.

We ate here twice last week and walked along it multiple times. It is an interesting place. Many very large and expensive boats moored all along here. The old wharf converted into expensive apartments. Some huge navy vessels also moored a little further along. The restaurants here are lovely and it is a fun place to eat. The botanic gardens literally join on which all makes for an amazing and scenic walk.

Worth a visit. Plenty of nice restaurants to choose from and lots of sculptures on the wharf. Easy to walk into the Botanical Gardens from here and close to the 50 metre Andrew (Boy) Charlton outdoor swimming pool. For the navy enthusiast there are lots of Naval ships moored to feast your eyes on.

We actually found this very easy to get to, bus 311 leaves from Wynyard every 30 mins and drops you at the door, we walked back through the Botanic Gardens to Circular Quay - if you didn't stop for a drink on the way it would only take about 45 mins.. It's a great piece of history and houses a hotel and art exhibitions. Amazing that the government wanted to demolish the place.
