I can’t comment on the accommodation or food, as I didn’t stay or purchase anything. The facilities are on par with other similarly remote places, so to be expected, and not the end of the world.
We visited as a part of a tour group, on our return journey, and I found it a horrible way to end our trip. I would advise everyone to avoid this place at all costs. It was touted by the tour guide as a step back in history, a glimpse at the 1950s and 1960s Australia. And that it was. Complete with racist undertones.
You begin by being greeted with the Curtin springs sign, and three flags - the Aussie flag, the NT flag, and the eureka stockade flag. I query the purpose of the eureka stockade flag, given that it has become a symbol of white nationalism in recent years. Also not surprising, seeing as that was the general vibe I got from the whole place.
Whilst I understand and appreciate the importance of sharing and learning all stories within our great nation, there’s no reason why this can’t be done alongside each other. Why we can’t learn about the history of curtin springs station and early pastoralism alongside recognition of the local Aboriginal people is beyond me.
The only reference to Indigenous people in the shop/bar was a racist caricature on the wall. There is no recognition that the Severins were not the first to live on the land. There’s no mention of local Indigenous groups anywhere. That absence speaks more than they realise. It comes across as a stubborn refusal to acknowledge and move forward from the racist attitudes of the past.
A quick Google of the Severin family and the history of Curtin Springs station confirms that this is likely the case. Reading through the replies to other reviews that highlight this further confirms that it is not accidental that there’s no mention of Indigenous people, and that the owners have no intention of changing. Ironic in that the toilets have signs up telling people off for taking things that don’t belong to them.
It’s a real shame, as I feel like I would have enjoyed learning about the family and stations history otherwise. Confronting and acknowledging the not so good parts of our past does not mean that we cannot also appreciate other parts of it, but the complete ignoring of the other side of the story makes it difficult to appreciate any part of the Curtin Springs story.
In summary, if you would like to have a glimpse at the racist attitudes of the 1950s/1960s Australia, and pretend Aboriginal people don’t exist - then Curtin Springs is the place for you and you’ll probably love it.
If you have any sense at all, then you’ll want to avoid it.

Didn’t get fuel here because it was the more expensive than Yulara and Erldunda. Enjoyed a very yummy breakfast here in the nice outdoor seating area. The toilets were scarily disgusting but still not the worse.

Great overnight free camp with toilets. Lots of space and shade if needed. Muffins were excellent and tea, mince with mash for $25. Excellent view of Mt Conner.

Stopped here overnight as I had a recommendation whilst at Streaky Bay that this place was the bomb. How wrong was this guy.
When we pulled up we were impressed. And even more impressed when we found out that it was free camping. When we went to have a look around we met this lady who abruptly layed down the law as if we were inmates. Other staff were nice and friendly.
After dinner we decided we would go to the bar only to find that it was closed. The same lady told us that she can't afford the staff to keep it open. However, she kindly let me purchase 4 drinks.
Walking around the place you can see it is run down and in need of a lot of TLC.
Then you go to use the toilets provided. OMG! Is an under statement. Even after the cleaners had been though them the next morning they were still disgusting. The males toilets don't look like the haven't had a real clean for decades.
Really disappointed that this place was recommended to me. As i had bigger expectations. Bypass this place if you can. FUEL $3.16 per litre for diesel.

We spent one night in an ensuite room. I certainly wasn't expecting luxury - but everything was so worn and run down that as soon as we saw the room we looked for alternatives. Unfortunately, all other accommodation in the area was already booked.
And so we had no choice but to spend the night there.
The room was full of mosquitoes, there were swarms of flies crawling around.
The bedding had stains.
The shower floor was so dirty that it sent shivers down my spine. There was no WiFi. There was a parking space right in front of the room.

A convenient location to use as a base camp for a day trip to Uluru and Yulara. I can understand that it would be fairly costly to provide facilities in this remote region. We stayed for 2 nights on a powered site, at a cost of $55pn. There was an additional charge for water which we were happy to pay as it is, after all, a desert area. The toilet block provided for campers is little short of atrocious. I can best describe the building as a rusted out pig shed. The toilets themselves were largely functional although blockages were rather frequent. The cleaners did their best but this place needs a new toilet block asap.

The diesel generator runs all night and we couldn't sleep because our room was next to it. The accommodation was VERY expensive ($270 AUD pn) when you consider we couldn't sleep. Drive the extra distance to Erldunda roadhouse instead - quiet, cheaper, cleaner and more amenities.
Curtin Springs staff were pleasant. Food was good & there's free camping for those with a camper or caravan.
You are in a remote area so manage your expectations.

Thank you for your kind words about our great team and your acknowledgement that there are multiple options available to suit the different traveller needs and budgets.
In remote areas power generation and fridge motors and other noises are simply part of life.
I hope you enjoyed the many different aspects of Central Australia, our wonderful vistas and the intricacies of our landscapes.

My hubby and I enjoyed our one night stay at Curtin Springs.
We we’re originally camping at the Uluṟu. But when I looked at the comment on Trip Advisor it was not too nice.
Curtin Springs is an hour and twenty minutes to the Ayer’s Rock.
We did not mind doing the driving.
The room we had was very good. Small but comfortable.
The receptionist was very pleasant and accommodating and helpful.
We payed a bit more for our room.
Dinner was yummy and the breakfast.
Beer price was not too much considering the location.
The history of the Curtin Springs Station was very interesting.
I will stay again if we happen to come back in the area.
The atmosphere was very relaxing, my hubby said very good.
All the staff were very helpful and happy to chat and explained stuff.
