Every Thursday and Sunday during the dry season, they have the Mindil Beach Sunset Markets. The market features a wide variety of food trucks and vendors selling arts & crafts. I had a lovely dinner there. For A$14, I got a medium container of food from the Sri Lankan truck. It was delicious with a large homemade lemonade from another vendor. It's a nice place to walk around and see the various items offered for sale.

These markets are famous for good reason. Great food, quality entertainment, well priced markets goodies and the best sunset view. Be sure to check out Indigenous artwork at the markets before you spend hundreds or thousands at the gallery in town.

It’s called the Mindle market but it should be renamed the Mindle Food truck market as the market stalls are very ordinary in quality and number and the food trucks extensive in number and cuisines served. Very little seating, no alcohol served, so it’s best to pack a rug or chairs, bring drinks and extra plates as all food is served in plastic containers, sufficient for at least 2 people to share. After the sunset there are usually fire performers. If taking the bus on a Sunday consult the timetable as the bus stops operating quite early, but Ubers are available.

have been both times I have travelled to Darwin., I wouldnt bother going back again. If you love trying a vast array of different foods then its a good place to come. trouble is there is nowhere to sit, only a couple of tables provided. toilets were out of action while we were there. we left without buying anything.

We went to Mindil beach markets. Got to say i was a little disappointed. We went during the day as there was a Beer can regatta on and the markets were open.

Very crowded and overrated. More food stalls than products. About 15-20 food stalls to just 10 product stalls. And crowded - like the Sydney easter show ( no l'm not kidding). I don't know why this is so popular - the food was fine .. but not earth shattering. Darwin has a lot of excellent restaurants the markets were ok. I'm wondering if maybe the reason people like these markets is that they go watch the sunset afterwards ... the sun was too much in my face. Parada markets were much better (though still crowded).

A great activity for family and friends. There is a huge variety of food trucks and live music. Mick’s whips has a stall and also does a little show and gets the kids involved. Everybody gets food and then eats it on the beach and watches the sunset. It was stunning! Perfect time of the year to be here, but expect it to be packed. You’ll be walking around like sardines. Make sure to pick the right food too. We tried the Fat Kebab which was the worst kebab I’ve ever eaten.

My dad and I visited Mindil Beach Markets during our first day in Darwin, and it made a fantastic first impression.
There is a wide variety of things available for sale including genuine crocodile products, fantastic artwork, jewellery, shirts, cutlery, books and much, much more. I left with a beautiful crocodile leather belt.
One of the highlights of the Mindil Beach markets has to be the food. There is a wide variety of vendors serving all sorts of cuisine. Italian, Greek, Turkish, American, you name it. The quality is also fantastic. I treated myself to what was easily the best chicken kebab I have ever had.
There is also plenty of live entertainment in the form of music and other performing arts.
If you are in Darwin at the right time, visiting the Mindil Beach markets is a must.

Amazing choices of food from so many cultures. You can get anything you want here from mains to dessert and exotic fruit drinks to haircuts, fire dancing and all the usual suspects markets offer like jewellery, clothes, bags etc. grab your dinner and wander the markets or sit on the beach and eat dinner whilst enjoying a sunset on Mindil Beach.

Visited on Sunday 30th April, it was very busy being the first Sunday market this year. Great choice of food and drink, not as many market stalls as I was expecting.

The markets run every Thursday and Sunday 4pm - 9pm but only in the dry season between 25th April and 31st October.

Open during this period over the dry season Thursday & Sunday nights 4pm - 10pm well worth the visit. If driving you’ll need to get their early for a park, hope this helps regards Wayne.

Mindil Markets will be closed but there are some other (smaller) markets on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Have a look for Parap Markets or Nightcliff Markets.

Hi, yes there is a big parking area right next to the markets and it is free. It is busy but I've always found a park easy enough.
If you need the disabled spots, when you go in the main entrance it is to the left (there was a guard standing there to make sure only people needing the disabled spots went left).
If you don't want to drive up and down the aisles, I have parked on the verge at Chin Quan Road which is opposite the casino, and its a five minute walk.

Yes the market will be open. It operates Thursday afternoon/evening and Sunday afternoons during the dry season. I found the hop on hop off bus excellent to get there on a Thursday late afternoon and a cab at the end of the day took me back to my accommodation.
