A good educational trip
okt. 2021
Well worth a visit with lots of exhibits to see. The Pandora display was really good, we learned so much. Sadly, we couldn't hear the video being played, I asked someone if they could turn it up, but was told "No". The person working in the museum added that many people have said the volume was too low. It is a shame that nothing was done about it if other people had the same issue. So we missed a lot of what was being said.

Plenty of interactive attractions for kids and a great side. The food was pretty good.

Many interactive attractions for children and adults alike and fantastic displays with a very good history of the HMS Pandora. Spend a few hours here it will be worthwhile.

Good history lesson about the Pandora shipwreck
aug. 2021
Nice open airy Museum. Realy enjoyed learning about the Pandora. The life size replica of the Ship's Bow was pretty cool too. Very helpful and informative staff too.

Boring
aug. 2021
Very boring, not worth the money we paid for entry. Food very ordinary. More displays and more interesting displays could have made this a better review.

Great for adults and kids
jun. 2021
A museum that doesn't overwhelm with too many exhibits. Plenty of space to roam without feeling rushed or crowded. Some good science activities for the kids and a tropical wonderland to explore. Cafe not bad either.

Lose the kids in this sanctuary of history and amazement!!
jan. 2020
Recently re-took our Granddaughter and a little friend of hers back to this beautiful attraction. This time we witnessed the program "Rescue", here the kids experienced all there is to know about the Rescue Services, and what it takes to be a Rescue Officer or Team Member in simulated scenario's. There are Fire Rescues, Sea and Shore Rescues, Helicopter Rescues, learning proper CPR procedures etc. All this, plus the usual Museum attractions as well, it truly was an exhausting day for a couple of Grandparents, trying to keep up with an energetic Granddaughter and company?? Still, it was money well spent, the experience the children gathered will remain with them for quite some time, and who knows, may prompt one or both to join a career in the Rescue fields??

Great morning out!
jan. 2020 • Familie
What a fabulous interactive museum. Our 3 kids aged 6 and 3yo twins, had a fantastic morning playing in all the different sections, flying a simulated helicopter, entering caves, using rescue equipment, trying out jet skis and rescue uniforms, climbing, playing with science. It was unexpected as we were looking to fill in an hour or 2 but spent the whole morning exploring and playing in the museum! Great discount in the Entertainment book and very friendly front desk staff.

Wonderful exhibits featuring H.M.S. Pandora recovered artefacts
nov. 2019
This is the only museum which houses a collection from the 16,000 artefacts excavated off the sea floor since the 1977 discovery of the H.M.S. Pandora wreck site. As we just completed an authorised dive trip to the wreck site, we were particularly interested in visiting this excellent museum to learn more and see many of the items recovered. Well worth a visit when in Townsville.

Fascinating Museum
okt. 2019 • Venner
We visited the Museum of Tropical Queensland and were fascinated by the story of the HMS Pandora, it’s journey in 1790 to try to reclaim the HMS Bounty and its subsequent shipwreck on the Great Barrier Reef in 1791. The museum contains a life-size model of the bow of the HMS Pandora that provides enormous insight into the construction and size of the ship. The museum also houses numerous artifacts and provides visual storytelling of the discovery and investigation of the shipwreck of the HMS Pandora. A thoroughly enjoyable and informative museum.
