Great to get a behind-the-scenes tour of the oval and learn all about the history of cricket and football at this venue. The inside of the old scoreboard was amazing. Definitely a must-see for sports fans.

A really good tour. Gives you another perspective of the Oval and the history of both cricket and South Australian Football. The inside of the old scoreboard was amazing a great historical piece of the oval.

Absolutely one of the best tours I’ve been on. It was so interesting , thanks to our guide Ian. We were taken all over the inside areas that no one gets it see. The most exciting part of the tour was actually going inside the old scoreboard. It is a must when visiting Adelaide.

This tour is quite well paced, informative and interesting. It goes for 90 minutes and there is a balance of coverage of cricket and AFL information so if you like one and not the other don't despair!
You get to see a lot of behind the scenes stuff - dressing rooms, corporate areas and get inside the heritage listed scoreboard. There are stairs to climb but if your fitness isn't great you still aren't likely to have any dramas.
You can pick up souvenirs from the concierge desk and it is a chance to check out the Bradman Collection housed at Adelaide Oval as well.

As a cricket lover I enjoyed seeing the facilities and hearing the history. See the scoreboard and dressing rooms was interesting.

Have been coming here to watch football since 2014 and love the experience. The service at the bar in the Magarey Room though leaves a lot to be desired. I stood there on Saturday night in an after match function with 5 people & 4 bar staff, only 2 of whom were actually serving. I had to actually say something to be served. And then, asking for orange juice, the staff member had no idea if they had any. Only after a 5 minute scramble did they find any! Not good enough when you are charging premium prices for poor service leaves a nasy taste in the mouth.

Nice setting in Parkland, enjoyed the walk from the botanical gardens.
Stadium has its own character, mix of old and new. Hard to get food or go to the loo.

I don't think Adelaide Oval is as good as South Australians make it out to be. We found the food to be the worst we have ever had at a footy ground, even a local one. It's not a patch on the MCG or even Manuka Oval, for example.

Went to a game of footy. This was great, but given the hype around the oval, it didn't live up to its Lofty expectations. An experience nonetheless.

Top level half forward flank of southern side near the open end of the ground. Enter through that open end rather than on the wing as the queues are shorter.

Hi, I'm catching the cricket on 6 and 7 December. I'm from Sydney so would like to know the stands where the sun is harsh. Prefer to book tickets where I get shade for most of the day. I hear that the Eastern stand is pretty bad. Anything else I should know ?

We visited from Perth for an AFL game and sat in the eastern stand from about 3:30pm in the 500's seating - excellent viewing I might add. Our viewing wasn't affected by the sun though. Its a beautiful stadium. Maybe contact AO directly and ask. They also do a great Roof Climb if you're interested in that kind of stuff.
What section and row where the seats, Im on the same boat and dont want to waste my money if they are no good. Please answer

We were in the top row in the general admission, the view was great. I do not think there would be a bad seat anywhere

As a first time visitor to Adelaide Oval - and hopefully for the Ashes Test December 2017 - does anywhere in the new Eastern Stand give any shade for the afternoon? Is the Riverbank Stand in the shade for the afternoon? What time at start of December does the Eastern stand go into the shade? Do the backs of the tiers get shade from the tiers above?
If you cannot reserve a seat, do you just get in early and put your bags on seats?

I'm looking to get tickets for the ashes, just wondering where is the best section for a couple of English fans, aged between 25-58. Definitely not looking for an alcohol free zone! What are the cheap $30 tickets on the grass mound like?
Any help would be top.

Simple mate - THE HILL just under the scoreboard !! It is perhaps the most atmospheric part of the ground and many a member of the Barmy Army has been there and can tell a tale !

first time visitor to Adelaide - going with my son to watch the cricket test - where is best area to stay in so have easy access to public transport to get to stadium but also get to enjoy the city?

Yep you can stay in Glenelg. Its a beachside suburb and you can stay at the Grand. Its about a 20 min tram ride into the city. You can also stay at one or 2 of the city hotels also.

If you are 95 where do you get food and drink!!! How do you leave the ground safely without waiting 45 minutes till the crowd goes. Where do you sit to eat the overpriced food and drink which is very small variety in the western stand. Where is the disability accessable bar where you can sit away from the wet cold weather! How do I get out of the western stand if there is an emergency. How do I get help if someone trips and falls on the bridge with so many people hemming you in and clowns jumping over and around barriers. How do you walk up the broken and uneven footpath up King William Street in safety. Where do you go to get out of the bad weather if you are on the terraces( at West lakes there were the tunnels with the radiators ALL Around the ground.) Why is there no specific disabled queue at the Southern gate I travel with a 95 year old father who has an Adelaide oval ticket and I have a crows ticket so we can't get reserved seats together.
We can't sit in the allocated disabled seats on the terrace as it is definitely not healthy for such an elderly man. He has shared the ticket with my brother since the inauguration of the crows. A Pretty poor situation. And please don't blame the Crows I blame the Oval organisers. This day and age not to consider the elderly and the disabled is an atrocious omission.
