(Sir) Henry Bolte (1908-1990) was the longest-serving Premier of Victoria (1955-1972), This fine statue is part of a group of prominent Victorian premiers in Treasury Gardens. The 17 years that Bolte ruled were among the most prosperous in the history of Australia. Perhaps (Sir) Charles Court (WA) was his equal in national leadership, but few others could challenge his dominance.

I had the opportunity to walk by i Treasury Place and Sir Henry's monument again and took the opportunity to establish that they were erected by former premier Jeff Kennett who selected only those premiers who had served for more that 3,000 days. The four were Henry Bolte, John Cain Junior, Rupert Hamer, and Albert Dunstan. They are life bronze like statues and a great way to remember our political leaders.Bolte was the 38th premier and the longest serving. He was a Western District sheep farmer and lived from 1908 -1990.

The statue of Sir Henry Bolte is one of four ex-premiers of Victoria and in this he is chatting to Albert Dunstan who ruled many years earlier. It is interesting and depicts Henry well and a great way to remember him.Bolte made many changes to Victoria and was elected six times and his rule covered 17 years. Not a bad effort.whatever your politics

Some outdoor sculpture that is worth taking a moment to notice and maybe a photo. Nice to see it here and the local history.

The statue of Sir Henry Bolte is as i recall his image and it is always fascinating to walk past his and other premiers statues adjacent to the government buildings in Treasury Gardens. If you have not seen them it is worth a visit. Walk east from the Old Treasury Building and you cannot miss them.

I am uncertain why this is called a memorial to Henry Bolte when it is in reality a memorial to Victoria Premiers who have served over 3000 days in office. These include John Cain Jnr, Rupert Hamer, Henry Bolte and Albert Dunstan.

These men have been immortalised in excellent bronze statues and all are situated at the rear of the Spring Street, Treasury Gardens, Melbourne, 3000
Well worth a visit although a 20 minute walk past is probably all that is necessary

Adjacent to the government buildings (Old Treasury Building) there are a number of bronze statues of past Premiers of Victoria including Henry Bolte, Rupert Hamer and others. They have a good resemblance to the person as best as one can recall.Well worth a visit
