We stayed in Bungarra campground for four nights. Very basic - just a toilet. We hiked and snorkelled. Hikes were short but there was plenty to see and some were quite challenging. Snorkelling was right off the beach. We tried Oyster Stacks, Turquoise Bay and Lakeside. Oyster Stacks can be challenging to get in and out of water. Lakeside and Turquoise have gentle sandy beaches from which you swim out 50 metres to coral. Visitor centre will rent you snorkel gear and wetsuits for reasonable prices and sells water and ice for OK prices, as well as a good range of gifts. There was a very nice campsite volunteer (hi, Jules!).

What we have seen was beautiful. Especially Turquoise Bay, but it is a shame that 4WD equipment is needed for most of the park. We tried to drive towards the CHarles Knife Canyon, but the loop road is not suitable for normal cars. And the same for most of the roads going from the visitors centre. Also it is quite a drive from Exmouth to get to the entrance. We came with a normal car and actually it was a bit of a waste if time.

Loved it, loved it, loved it. Whales, turtles, sharks coral, rock wallabies, gorges and stunning views over Ningaloo. Absolutely eclipses the Great Barrier Reef.

We camped at Osprey Bay and despite no power or water ( you need to supply your own) it was fantastic. From the beautiful reefs and beaches to the big starry black sky at night you felt like you were in the best place in the world. The turtles at Osprey bay were great to see from the beach and just did their own thing if you came across one while snorkeling. Yardie creek had great scenery and the gorge walk was okay. A few areas were over uneven ground but it was fine. Oyster stacks and turquoise bay were spectacular for snorkeling.

We visited this national park starting every day from an accommodation in Exmouth. This solution is very suitable allowing you to enjoy the beauties of the park returning in the evening in a good room and for a good dinner. The daily transit is short and the road is paved and in excellent condition. We would have liked to spend a night or two inside the park but it was fully booked and going to the visitor center was useless because we were told that you could only book online. The first visit we made it was to Yardie Creek one of the most interesting points of this park. Here there is the end of the paved road that runs north-south across the entire national park and continuing south requires a high-performance 4WD vehicle suitable for overcoming the Yardie river crossing. A trail of a few hundred meters allows you to see the river, the red rock walls and the rich animal life that lives there including the rare black-flanked rock wallaby (Petrogale lateralis) and a few species of birds. Our interest in animals also led us to visit Mangrove Bay where among the mangrove trees there is a bird hide that allows a good birdwatching of resident and migratory birds (repellent recommended). For snorkelling we started at Oyster Stacks, the point where the reef is closest to the coast. Here there is a sign indicating day by day the hours in which you can snorkel because at low tide you risk to damage the corals. If you want to hope to see the biggest reef fish, the best place for snorkelling is definitely Lakeside. Once you reach the small car park you have to walk across the small creek that here has its mouth and walk along the beach for over 300m to the Sanctuary Zone whose limits are well marked on the dunes and the sea with buoys. At high tide, when sometimes the water even reaches the car park, crossing the creek requires passing points over 1m deep. This is the only place where we found picnic tables in the shade along the creek. Turquoise Bay is a nice and quiet crystal clear waters beach fantastic to spend time relaxing, swimming or doing some easy snorkelling. On this beach there are two car parks, one of which is dedicated to those who want to do try out drift snorkelling along the Southern beach. Cape Range National Park obviously has many other beaches and places to visit so the duration of the visit can be even several days. What is important is to book well in advance where to stay overnight given the current closure of the borders and therefore a higher demand from Australian tourism.

From all the beaches to visit, the excellent sandy beaches with some with rocks, the snorkeling is amazing. We really enjoyed Oyster Stacks, Turquoise Bay and Lakeside as our favorites. Lakeside and Turquoise Bay provided us with the opportunity to drift. We were able to see emus, kangaroos, all different kinds of birds, etc. and to hike. There is camping however, we had our base in Exmouth as we stayed in town. This Park is amazing and so beautiful.

We stayed at North Kurrajong Campground in the National Park that has two well maintained self-composting toilets shared amongst a small group of campers. Bookings can be done online on the WA National Parks website and there is a nice shelter and seating overlooking the beach for sunset drinks. Snorkelling in the bay is quite good, however, Oyster Stacks or Turquoise Bay is much better.

I've been in this national park for camping, once I've payed the entrance fee, I discovered I had to book online before arrival.
When I asked how to book they told me all the camp site was full. I should come back in the next days.
The people was very rude and totally helpless for anything.
They just steal our money and I couldn't ask for any refund.
