We stopped off for lunch on a short weekend break to Blenheim. Service was excellent, served by Nicky who gave a tasting of two savs and one chard, samples to accompany the Hapuka Poke bowl. Food was delicious as was the wine. Would recommed a visit.

I visited hoping for a special lunch and was very disappointed. Granted, the setting is marvellous and the service was excellent, but I found the food I ordered underwhelming. I ordered the tart of the day, which was merely a piece of pastry smothered in beetroot chutney(the same chutney sold in the foyer) and dotted with a few botticini. On the plate was two other acidic sides, so the taste was overwhelming acid with no respite. I could have made the tart myself in five minutes. I then ordered the lemon tart, again dry and disappointing.

Most reviews indicated that this was a winery (and bistro) well worth visiting, (advanced booking advised). With that in mind we made a booking a few weeks ahead, which in turn, was confirmed via email.
However, upon arriving we were told our name was not on the bookings list for the day.
After showing the hostess a printed copy of the email confirming our booking, we were told that a table would be found for us.
We started with a tasting (at our table), of a Sparkling wine and then a Black Label Sauvignon Blanc. We decided on a bottle of the latter, - which was an excellent example of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
We shared ‘The Vineyard Platter’ and ‘Picton Village Sourdough’. High recommended.
In-in-all, full marks for food, service, wine and venue.
There was however, a disappointing end to our visit.
While paying our bill, - the hostess came rushing out to the front desk, with the comment, ‘make sure they have paid for the wine’, … well in earshot of us.
Question for the hostess: why would you think that we would leave without paying for the wine ?
In closing, our advice is to book well in advance, - and to confirm your booking prior to arriving at the winery. This shouldn’t be a necessity, but it appears that Bistro’s booking system does need some work.
I sincerely believe that without the printed confirmation email, we would have been turned away from the venue.

Allan Scott Winey. Best wines we had. We had lunch and a tasting. Our waitress from France, Amelia (I think) was amazing. While we were finishing our charcuterie meal, we missed our bus..oh well..it was coming back in 45 minutes so we got a glass of our favorite sauvignon blanc and sat outside. Our waitress brought us 2 more wines to try.. . I mentioned that it was cool that my husband's name was Scott Allen Taylor and we were at Allan Scott. She came back with a free bottle of wine with a hand-written note taped on it..check out the pics. The entire staff were incredible! Bronwen (sorry not sure of spelling) also incredible!

Lovely sheltered courtyard setting with undercover areas.Very relaxed friendly vibe for dining. Menu not only well thought out - food is beautifully crafted with exquisite photo worthy presentation - flowers, micro herbs, sauces and taste lives up to the presentation - first class. Locals dine there so you should too.

Great relaxed vibe, beautifully relaxed setting, excellent service and excellent food, the staff handled our large group of 16 plus a toddler, celebrating a milestone birthday for one of us. Thank-you.

We arrived without a lunch time booking on a very busy Monday - so suggest you book ahead. The staff were very accommodating and after a short wait we were seated. Everything was lovely- the food, the service, the setting, and of course the wine. Put this winery on your Malborough wine tour list!

RUBBISH EXPERIENCE. No hospitality, you serve yourself out of a machine.
We arrived at the end of a lovely tour experience to be rudely greeted by a woman on reception. We were told by a gentleman that we could taste wines for about 15 minutes. However after being shown to a room with limited seating and vending machines we were sternly and repeatedly told we only had five minutes left by previously mentioned woman. We were rushed through our “experience” and made to feel unwelcome and in the way. We were provided no information about the wines or the winery. Also some wines were unavailable due to ants being in the machines.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. There are many other delightful cellar doors to try in the Renwick/Blenheim area.

Friendly staff who were very accommodating and engaging on our recent Sunday lunch experience. The steak was perfect! The open fire was nice too.
We haven't been to Allan Scotts to dine for a few years (through no fault of their own) and we had a lovely experience so won't wait so long between visits next time!

We visited Allan Scott's as part of a wine tour, had a delicious lunch sitting outside on a crisp, sunny day - wine tasting happened during lunch, a lovely relaxing meal and visit to the winery and restaurant. They were quite busy but didn't make it obvious. Definitely recommended.

Thanks for your question. We love dogs, and in fact have our own winery dog, Digby. However as we are a food premise, we are unable to have animals inside the restaurant or cellar door I'm sorry.
