It's got a bit of everything - beautiful scenic drive over to Glenorchy, the jetboat ride provides an amazing introduction to the braided Dart River and base of Mt. Aspiring National Park before hopping in the funyaks to paddle back down. The scenery is stunning - an unspoiled mix of fresh glacier waters, mountains, and alpine forest. The rivers back down had sections of calm water and mild rapids which made the funyak paddling really enjoyable - paddling through the chasms was definitely the highlight.
Lunch was delicious - lots of high quality food for sandwiches, fruit and treats to pick from.
Decent quality gear provided as well (boots, wetsuits, fleeces) which was warm and comfy.
The guides were all really friendly and professional too - all of them offered interesting commentary, touching on the history of the area, jetboats, maori culture and more.
100% recommended!
