Nice bay, aldough not as beautiful as some other bays. Walking up the hill seeing the next bay was nice, we stayed during weekend so quite busy. Seeing some rays was a wonderful experience.

Beautiful beach with stingrays! Not only is it a great place to swim and hang out, but you get to feed the stingrays and see them up close. They are friendly and an absolute joy to behold. Tip: Bring some raw fish before coming so you can feed the lovely creatures.

Water was pretty turbid and there were lots of people trying to check out the rays.
It’s a nice enough spot but if the conditions aren’t at their best then it’s kind of like an crowded boat ramp at an average beach.

Beautiful spot to stop and do a hike around the foreshore and Bay Area.
Large stingrays are in the shallow water and will come up to you and swim around the shallows, be calm and patient, we saw 6-8 on the day we were there.
Continue up over the walkway and beyond for more views around the bay to the other side.
Lovely spot for swim or picnic.
Toilets and parking.
No shade, would be hot on a very hot day.

Very nice beach with clear water and soft sand. Stingrays coming by and swim close to shore. Pretty windy but just nice under the hot sun. Children loved it! Nothing much around the region but definitely worth rd the drive. Highly recommended.

Parents encouraging their kids to touch the rays is an accident waiting to happen. We all know not to touch wild animals, but rays are usually gentle and very clever, but the way people are looking to interact with the, is something that should be discouraged more.
Wonderful place reagrdless of the self gratifying crowd.

Hamelin Bay itself is pretty but not the greatest beach along the coast but the coastline to the south is spectacular.Added interest was the numerous large rays that frequented the beach edge. Friendly maybe, but one suspects they were after food but interesting and worthy of a look.

The scenery of this beach, nice sand and interactions with sting rays, which come to your feet are the highlights. There are many more good beaches in Margaret River region, but this one does not have so many people and offers calm waters for swimming.

Beautiful bay with stingrays . Water was chilly but well worth the detour . We were there about 9:45 am . Big and small stingrays in the clear aqua water

We enjoyed seeing the the stingrays lapping and flapping gracefully along the beach shoreline. Some people were wading in and touching them, which I didn't think was very eco-wise. However they didn't seem to mind. We had a swim further up the beach past the jetty away from the stingrays. It was lovely but granddaughter saw a shark cruise past where we had just been swimming. The water visibility was very good and we didn't venture far, but there seem to be a lot of sharks around this season in WA beaches (according to the newspaper). So swimming is a bit risky but we were lucky and enjoyed our swim in the clear blue waters..

No you can't, but on the way you will pass a number of roadhouses and fuel stops that sell bait. Just grab a bag of frozen bait fish and you will be set to go. Have fun and treasure our wonderful marine life, pretty special. Cheers

Grab some frozen bait fish on your way down from one of the many roadhouses or fuel stops. Have fun and treasure our wonderful marine life, very special. LOL don't worry about the seagulls stealing your treats, they have too eat too and they are also happy to feed out of you hand.

I'm thinking of coming down that way for a change. Are all the beaches dogs unwelcome? I have 2 Border Collies and we usually go on lots of walks on or next to the beach.

I am also not 100% sure . The beach I believe is not a national park. I feel if they are on a lead that should be fine. When your contact the accomodation places you want to stay at they will know what the rules are. There are several cabins only 30m to the beautiful beach. Also there is a daily feed of some stingrays at the waters edge near the boat ramp. great for visitors.

We will be there in winter midjune - what time should we go in order to see stingrays in the shallow waters? I noted that other reviews mention 9.30am or 4pm but those were in the summer months. Would it be the same in the winter months?

I believe the stingrays hang around the beach all through the day. There are no specific times to see them. They are protected in the bay so they tend to hang around a lot. Hope that helps 👍☺️

Apologies for the delay in responding. I only just saw your message. I believe the sting rays are there all through the year. You don’t need any fish bait for them. They just hang around regardless as they are a protected species there. Best time to go is probably in the summer & spring. Hope that helped. 👍😊

Not too sure! I was traveling there in February. the best would be to ask a local around there area once you are there.
