Worth a drop by on the way to Pagudpud. If only for the beautiful photos. Its worthwhile to get one of the guides to take your photos for you as they seem very trained to do this! We gave a non-compulsory tip for his troubles but it was worth it. We got a Family Photo shoot unexpectedly =)

Beautiful piece of Filipino history, and a must-visit if you are in the area. Includes a museum, as well as pasalubong shops at the bottom of the hill. You cannot take your vehicle to the top where the lighthouse is, but you can park your car in the parking lot and ride a tricycle (10 pesos) to get there. The views at the top are very nice.

This late 19th century lighthouse is worth-visiting not only for its historical significance, but also for its state of preservation. It's like travelling back in time! It's also very instagrammable. Do take some time to read the panels with descriptions in every room of the place and you'll appreciate the place more.

Fährt man von Laoag Richtung Burgos, kann man den Leuchtturm nicht übersehen. Da er sehr gut erhalten ist, könnte man meinen er sei noch in Betrieb. 2007 jedoch bot er innerlich einen erbärmlichen Zustand. Erst mit dem Aufkommen des Tourismus in diesem Teil der Philippinen, begann man mit der Restaurierung. Seit 2012 wurde mehr und mehr restauriert. Nun bietet der Besuch des Lighthouse Bojeador interessante Einblicke in die Geschichte und das Leben der Angestellten (damals). Einzig der Aufstieg zum Lichtgehäuse ist nach wie vor nicht gestattet.

just include this place in your IT as it is along the way when you
visit the windmills and kapurpurawan rock formation.
They have all the historical information in every exhibit
area and particular rooms. Worth including in your itinerary.
Taking the tricyle going to the main site or walking would be a good expereince and moderate exercise.

A little off the beaten path. You can take a quick, cheap tricycle (trike) ride from the parking area to the top, and enjoy a great view of the surrounding countryside. Several food and trinket stands at the parking area, as well as comfort rooms (rest rooms) It was maybe 30 pesos (abt 60 cents USD to ride to the top, but it is also easily walk-able.

Second time in Ilocos but first time in Cape Bojeador. It's one of the must-see places in Ilocos. Vans can only take you as far as the pick-up point for trikes - 10php/head one way or you can walk but it's an uphill climb. Minimal entrance fee. The guide/photographer will walk you through the place. They take great pictures - don't forget to tip them! The view up there is really amazing.

We love going up the lighthouse. There's a tricycle to bring you up but we decided to walk. Best if you wear comfy clothes and shoes. The people in charge were helpful. T

The light house is certainly another go to if you visit the province of Ilocos. The view is very eyecatching as you would see the ocean on one side and the forest at the other side. Even though we had kids with us it wasn't as scary as I was expecting it to be.
The tour guides is definitely a plus. They are very proactive and knows where to take great pictures. As an improvement, i think they should share some trivias related to the place.

Comparing my recent visit to the first one about ten years ago, I'd say that this is now a new way to tour a lighthouse. In the past, visitors would have to chance upon the lighthouse operator-caretaker to let you roam around ( he has recently retired says the guide). These days, there's a whole bunch of "free" tour guides who are well-trained on the photo spots, whether you're carrying a smartphone or a DSLR. A donation is encouraged but not mandatory but how can one be a scrooge when you're bringing home nice pictures?
Nowadays, cars are only allowed up to the registration pt and you're required to take the tricycle going up, probably a livelihood source for the locals. We walked back to the parking on our way down (to parking area NOT the highway) as we wanted to take pictures along the path, which is a mere 10 minutes.
Overall, it was surreal. The view afforded a 360-degree scenery of the surrounding seas.
