Avoid at all costs - it's Fawlty Towers all the way

I høysesongen vinter? Stedet var tom, utenom for 1 person i baren. Fredag kveld! Tomt i peak vintersesongen. Trenger nye eiere.

Fish was crispy and delicious; chips were superb and the tartare was made in house. Great price too. Manager was friendly and clearly had a real commitment to keeping this heritage listed pub in fine order. The place was spotless too. What a find. We’ll be back for sure, and I’ll bring the girls next time to shop across the road and then enjoy lunch.

We had a few drinks and lunch at this spotless clean pub in town. The man serving us was friendly and helpful. The lunch was good. We had salads and grilled chicken sub sandwich on Turkish bread. We will return.

Had dinner at the Royal in Cooma on a stopover. Meal was delicious. The salad was the freshest Ive had in a long time and the chips were so crispy and lovely. I had chicken schnitzel and it was moist inside and crisp on the outside. Hubby had the beef and bacon burger and raved about it. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. Definitely on our list for next time in the area.

the smell of toilet urinal blocks wafted through the bar, the beer and drinks were excellent the barman Matt had the personality of a used postage stamp, and made for atmosphere as flat as a pancake, very nice building, and a lovely place, a friendly barmaid might help.

Great value for money, I went to stay for one night and ended up staying on for two. Friendly service and I met a great bunch of locals. The history of the pub is amazing and the new owners are really getting it up and running again as it should be with great basic value for money pub grub meals, chips cooked to perfection, chicken schnitzel was perfect (both very important in a pub) beef burger was the tastiest I've had in ages, don't expect cappuccino coffee and bacon and eggs for breakfast but you can walk up the hill in the morning and get that from a local cafe.

If you've never stayed in an Aussie pub I highly recommend you try it and this one was great! A friendly bunch of locals and one of the things I love about Australia is our people and our pubs. I almost didn't want to leave.... Oh and you can go for a walk after your meal up to the Nanny Goat hill lookout if you want to see a great view of the area within a short walk from the pub and back. With meals, happy hour beers and cheap accomodation the whole weekend was very great value and I think I only spent just under $200. I'll be back there again next time I'm in the area. Highly recommended!

Nothing fancy here. A solid, old-time Australian country pub with a bistro serving classic Aussie favourites. We had an "Impossible Frittata" ($10) and their home-baked chicken and leak pot pie ($10.50). Delicious and filling. Add a glass or two of Mrs Bundy's Beer and there's not much better than sitting in the shade of the Royal's wide verandas on a sunny day watching people pass on Sharp Street.

This used to be the meeting and greet venue for the Motorfest. This time we left the show and ate lunch here.
A very good selection of beers and quality food. The staff were really friendly and enjoyed a joke with all of us.
Definitely our choice next time for a break from the car show and a good meal.

Under new management, with some of the best food I've eaten in a while, the Royal Hotel has been reborn and revitalised. Still full of old world charm by way of removing the overdose of gambling facilities that once lined the walls of this majestic building, the Royal is managing to fit quite well into the 21st century courtesy of the in-house wifi, new updated menu, and staff who have knowledge of the local area and all the Monaro region has to offer any visitors to the 'Gateway To The Snowy Mountains'. A wonderful place to spend a few hours over a great meal, cold beer, or pop in for a coffee from the coffee bar. Open 7 days for lunch and dinner, it really is the place to stop in Cooma.

I was shocked to have dealt with the rude bartender. Not only was he plain rude with my order he turned to the other bartender and stated something about 'young people'.
The food is frozen food cooked in a fryer. I had to wait twenty minutes for a soda and a bit longer for my bourbon and coke. The wait times were ridiculous for a two drinked order and the kicker was that they weren't busy, just prioritizing the people they seemed to know.
They appear to not be open anymore which is sad because if it wasn't run so poorly myself and the other half of Cooma would be stumbling home/to their hotel every night.

It took an hour and 20 min for our meal to arrive and then it was a main course short.
They did manage to make the missing main course appear in 7 minutes.
It was Good Friday but not an excuse for shoddy staff scheduling
